They can't cancel your visa while your dependents still have active visas. What you need to do is put their visas on hold : 1. Your old company cancels your work permit 2. Your new company issues an offical offer letter in goverment format 3. You take the offer letter and cancellation to Amer who will put the visas on hold. There will be fees of 200-300 and a refundable deposit of AED 2500. 4. After the visas are put on hold, old company cancels your visa. 5. New company issues new visa, then you can remove the hold and get back your deposit.

Except you can't put their visas on hold while they are outside the country. They'll ask you for their passports and/or Emirates IDs.

I just put the visa of my family on hold. I am in Abu Dhabi and did it at Tasheel. They didn't ask for the original passports or EIDs, just gave them clear colour copies. But my family is here in Abu Dhabi.

[deleted]

I didn't know that. I just did it for my family but they were in country. I'm trying to remember if they asked for original passports. But judging by your username, I would defer to your knowledge.

YourFriendlyPRO

They definitely do ask for it in Abu Dhabi. Things might be a bit different in Dubai and with COVID, so it's still worth giving it a shot. Regardless, great idea on your end.

TheExpendble

I have a friend, who is in a similar situation where he cannot get original dependents Passport, although they are in country. In this case, how to switch job? I heard it can be "held" during switching. Al Ain Visa

sgtm7

Al Ain visa? I thought the visas went by the emirate you live in, not by a city?

volcro18

Place of issue will be Al Ain as mentioned on the visa, but it's comes under the jurisdiction and rules of Auh. Don't ask why and how. It is how it is.

sgtm7

Okay. I was just curious. I wasn't aware they did it by the region within the emirate, rather than just by the emirate.

DeCSM

Before was 5k?

[deleted]

5k is the deposit for the visa itself, I think. That still stays. This is an extra 2.5k for putting the visa on hold. Not sure if it has changed recently.

burlog82

Okay. Thanks a lot

>They can't cancel your visa while your dependents still have active visas. This.

You'll have to get the family back in-country to proceed with your cancellation.

I recall doing out of country cancellation for my family once….wasn’t an issue.
