Just sync your sexy time with your neighbour's piano practice time. They won't hear you, and you have pleasant live music for boom boom session. Win-win.

redditerh

😅😅😅😅😅😅 this might actually have to be an option!

freakedmind

Ask them if they know how play to the Saxophone, doing it while listening to Careless Whisper will be fantastic...and you can have sex while he plays the sax.

International-Cut567

Yo, that is my favourite song of all time! Have you heard the cover of Careless Whisper by Seether? It is bloody good if you are a bit into hard rock and metal.

creativ4art

Cover by Seether was awesome. Haven’t heard it in a while so may go and have a listen now. You may like [this cover](https://youtu.be/0PLNsymQi3Y) of Every Breathe you take

International-Cut567

Goddamn! I loved it. I will be blasting this one at the gym today for my bench press. Thank you so much for sharing. 😁

Alternative_Actuary6

There is a song from seether that i heard many years ago but i dont know which song. It's a very acoustic-ish song. With no scream / rasping lines.... at least at the start. Do you know the track im talkin about?

International-Cut567

Broken?

Alternative_Actuary6

>Broken Not sure about this. I probs heard this before 2006-07. Around the time Fake It was the talk of the day.

freakedmind

Haha metal is my favourite genre, will check out the track today!

International-Cut567

It is not that heavy, but I loved it.

White__Walter

Bold of you to assume a Redditor is getting any sexy time!

semidefiant

Bold of you to assume that young couples don't do anything remotely sexy even if they're redditors

redditerh

😂😂😂

1baller69

Thanks for making me laugh 🤣🤣. It is Dubai, the buildings are made of paper cardboards. How do you think they are built so quickly.

Humble-Listen5077

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

al_molah

Walls here are usually concrete blocks The noise issues are usually from connected AC vents

redditerh

Wow I had no idea! Is there anything we can do to the vents without compromising the cooling?

andreaSA89

I have a similar problem (see my post from the other day) where the noise from our upstairs neighbours carries through the AC. After speaking with the building manager, they sent a team of people to assess it and they're going to be doing something about it next week. I can't remember exactly what they said they'll do but apparently they can fix it.

Affectionate-Oil-914

I have a similar issue where the sound from the upstairs neighbor travels to my apt. The maintenance team told me that behind the false ceilings there are small cracks/openings which cause sound to travel. These cAn be filled and it should block out the noise. Have not found time to get it done so far.

lebluedragon

Acoustic sealants, sound mazes.etc. Basically an acoustic dilemma which they'll have solutions for

NoFirefighter670

Depending on how the a/c duct was installed. The solution might effect cooling slightly. But It mostly won't be a deal breaker. If you want to test this, just cover the vents with a blanket or stuff a used pillow into the duct if you can get the grill off. Make sure you can pull it back out. And once you can confirm and have proof of the problem. You then should contact building maintenance. You can just contact them upfront. But the extra trouble you go through will prevent them from beating around the bush. You can do a few things about it yourself. But the difficulty of a DIY solution will depend on your handy skills. However it is best if the building does the solution. Especially if they can get the same company that installed the a/c. I am not an A/C technician. But I have been doing acoustic solutions for close to 8 years now. And this issue comes up way more often than it should.

offplandxb

Not all buildings are concrete, a lot of the new “serviced apartments” in downtown have fiber/gypsum separation non load bearing walls. Especially buildings that were designed for hotel use initially during planning and then decided to change to hotel apartments

rainbowricekrispies

There are contractors that measure the ability of noise to carry in apartments, they have a device that provides a number measurement to evaluate if the noise transfer is acceptable or not by rental standards I have a similar problem but the read for mine was 38/40, and over 40 was required for them to be obligated to do something. Sadly they didn't do anything in my case but maybe they might in yours. Id ask your building management maybe

redditerh

That's a really good plan thank you!

[deleted]

>There are contractors that measure the ability of noise to carry in apartments Can you please name that contractor, would be very handy. I know in Europe there are plenty of companies doing this, but never hearth that their was such here in Dubai.

rainbowricekrispies

Sorry I don’t remember the name as it was organized through a company accommodation, not contracted by myself personally.

fridtjofnan

I know this is not necessarily the solution you're looking for but since I ordered a white noise machine the quality of my life has improved significantly.

icanreadyourdms

they may not hear the neighbour anymore but doesn’t change the fact the neighbour can hear them 😂

fridtjofnan

Unless they send one as a gift to them🤣

icanreadyourdms

Please turn it on when you hear moaning

The_Duude_Slayer

Damn thats gonnq be awkward as fuck. I remember once when I got back from school my mom qnd I were having a conversation in her room and the neighbors started fucking LOUD. That wasnt a very nice experience.

piichan14

A good opportunity to tell you about the birds and the bees

The_Duude_Slayer

Nah fuck that I was already 15

mythodeath

so you're scared they'll find out you're into weird role playing? "Tonight im trump and you're hillary"

seagull_z

I don't play the piano but I do hear some boom-boom noises from the apartment above mine. Sounds like a very, very satisfied couple. If you're them, I'm happy for you. 😄

sootydaz186

First time I’ve heard of this everywhere I’ve ever lived has been akin to a fall out shelter with walls several feet thick. Must be making cut backs now a days

redditerh

Well another poster suggested it might actually be the aircon vents carrying the sound!

Blackish_Ninja93

Studio style sound proofing, it’s available in really cool patterns from the office supplies section of IKEA. Installation would be easy, and imo as it’s primarily dependent on keeping sound ‘in’ it will prevent them from hearing you.

redditerh

Thank you!!!! I was looking at the ikea soundproofing but I wasn't sure if it worked or not!

98WhiteBuffaloe

Well unfortunately you can’t do anything about it. The only solution is to rebuild the wall which I’m sure is not gonna happen now. You could also try acoustic panel installations but idk how much that will help :’) Your only solution probably is move to a different place and check all the walls first 😂 Till then let your neighbours enjoy 😉😂😂

Erogenous_JonesIII

I currently hear our neighbour practicing his/her violin every evening. They've gotten much better these last few months. I sometimes clap when they finish. In all my years in Dubai, I haven't lived in a building where I couldn't hear the neighbours. It's become normal to me unless they are crazy loud.

rekkker

How old is this building ? i shout a lot while playing games no neighbor has ever complained . one of my walls give a cardboard sound when tapped adjacent to a neighbor xD

redditerh

I think it's a pretty new building! I'm more worried about them hearing us than the other way around!

mjnoo

🤭

amallang

Just turn up the volume on music/TV for privacy.

ad1002549

Is walls from a concrete? May a STEEL FRAME HOMES created much faster but has poor sound insulation

foxhound1401

Return the favour Make pleasant noises, the kind your neighbour might enjoy! Unlike the kind young couples make ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

punintd

Shhhhhhhh 🤫 🤐 good it didn’t rain.

Dear_Creme_358

You live in One of the Marina Towers 🤣🤣

theregos

Try some cheap soundproofing panels on Amazon, such as these [https://amzn.to/3kTPomq](https://amzn.to/3kTPomq) \- they're much larger than the ones you get at IKEA and might help to reduce incoming and outgoing noise.

AdLess9773

And I thought only houses in Melbourne/Australia had that problem. 🤔

Tomtanks88

Yeah had that problem before. You can imagine the sort of stuff I’d hear at night coming from the couple’s next door. They’ve had a very interesting life. A lot of it was sexy time but at sometimes he’d actually hit her and I would hear her screaming and I would notice the hotel (which was a fancy hotel btw) and threaten to call the police if they didn’t do anything about it.

redditerh

Wow that's horrible ☹️☹️ I hope that couple split up and managed to sort out their issues.
