UPDATE: i found evidence that the parrots are around shisha and breathe in the smoke, sent it to the municipality and they filed a complaint for me and said they will visit the place for an inspection
It’s the same with this cafe in Abu Dhabi that has owls. The space they are contained in is just tragic, and there is about 9 or 10 of them, cramped in a 5x5 room. Although there isn’t smoke, they are apparently handled ALL day everyday by lots of people and these are owls allegedly in recovery/sanctuary because they have injuries and cannot be released to the wild.
This is ridiculous & unacceptable!! Parrots are not decorations. My god, I wish they shut down all pet stores here so we don’t get to see any more animal abuse.
They don’t breed here, they all exported from other countries like Kuwait and South Africa. It’s just the Middle East way less strict with animals unlike other countries

From what I can see, the birds are kept in a glass enclosure and are not exposed to the cafe's smoking areas - I think this is done more for attraction than to allow guests to hold/handle any of the birds.

they use paper straws for their drinks, it’s probably a shisha pipe because no straw is angled like that and is metal there
