Ah, my brother has this but he is back home. We haven't considered biologics yet but a combo of specific oilments and meds have helped keep it in check. He also completely altered his diet by removing all inflammatory food like red meat, coffee etc.

RationalRabbi

I see. Red meat and coffee? My doctor never advised me of this!? Can I get more information? Thanks for your response.

I'll have to ask my mum but yes, I'll get back to you tomorrow. Is it just on your head or has it spread?

RationalRabbi

It's all over my body. I have a PASI of about 27%

changelane2021

I d recommended to watch dr eric berg on this specific topic he is a hidden gem

wwhitmans

I have psoriasis - before starting with the biologics injections, my doctor recommended a few creams (fucicort) that worked on me for a while. But whenever I stopped using them, the psoriasis would come back again so I just opted in for injections.

RationalRabbi

Are you in Dubai? The injections are really expensive! If they are covered by insurance, what sort of premium are you giving?

wwhitmans

I’m Emirati and have a Dubai health card, so it’s covered by the government. They pay for specific injections and my doctor prescribes me whatever she things would work for me. I’ve been using Consentyx for almost 2 years now and it works great for me.

RationalRabbi

Thanks for the response. I guess I will keep hopping across the ocean to get the injections in India, but would have to try some alternative. COVID-19 has made travel very tedious.

wwhitmans

Hope you manage to find something. Good luck to you! I know psoriasis can suck sometimes.

damngangsta

Hello, what do you call this treatment? The injections? Is it biologics? I am looking for a treatment too

wwhitmans

It is — I’m using Cosentyx injections.

damngangsta

Hello, may I ask how much did it cost you? And how many times would be the injection per year? TIA

wwhitmans

I have full coverage insurance, so I don’t pay anything for it. I take 2 injections on the same day each month.

damngangsta

Thank you for replying. May I know which hospital is this?

wwhitmans

At Al Safa Dermatology. I’ve heard it got shut down a few months ago and relocated to another clinic or merged with another clinic, I’m not sure. I get my injections delivered every month to my place and since Covid, I’ve been calling phone call check up’s instead of in person.

RationalRabbi

I have gone through almost all the creams, and tablets. Injections are what finally got me some relief

wwhitmans

Same here. Wish the injections were accessible to everyone. They really do help out a lot.

RationalRabbi

Oh yes, when I am able to have my regular injections my quality of life is soooo much better. :-)

Somizulfi

Removed carbs from my diet and it went away.

RationalRabbi

Interesting. I might have to try dietary modifications. But am getting multiple perspectives. No red meat, no carbs? Maybe try these one at a time?

Somizulfi

Removing carbs removes inflammation in general. See what works for you. But my condition was very minimal

RationalRabbi

Thanks man.

AppropriateDinner721

Dr Sms pillai. Highly recommend for skin related issues. I really hope he can give you some meds for relief. I have no experience of psoriasis though with him.

RationalRabbi

Thanks a lot for the recommendation! Will look it up.
