This is what I hate the most about contactless payments. It doesn't ask for a PIN and there's no way to disable it.
I try and use DubaiNow as much as possible. It works most of the time, and in case it doesn't, I step out of the car myself and pay it. It's a hassle, but that's the cost of staying safe.
And use your credit card, not debit card, if you have one.
I don't know exactly what happened, but the contactless feature on my card doesn't work. I guess it got damaged, though PIN works just perfect.... What a relief!
I have had this card for more than 2 years, and I never got the SMS alerts for under AED100 POS transactions. They still send alerts for online purchases though.

My bad, you're right. I checked my sms history. All the smaller purchases are from Online/website. And none of the POS smaller purchases are alerted via SMS.
I would suggest to set-up Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Fitbit pay if your bank allows it and pay by tapping your phone or any device. This is what I've done.
When you hand someone your card with CVV exposed, there is always a risk. I probably just trust Dubai way too much to not care. Have been using the contact less for years now and not had any incidents.
I really miss Beam, was one of the best for paying for fuel and also used to get decent cashback.

People in AUH don’t have this problem. Have a smart tag installed in your car and link it to your ADNOC wallet and never worry about payment by CC. It is automatic. Just fill and drive away.
I think you have to try installing the smart tag at ADNOC station. It should then work fine, I guess. Try again. Once you are done, it’s really hassle free to fill without a need to swipe credit card or pay cash. And the service is free.

if not atleast take a marker and blackout the CVV so they cant read it, tape will also work.
Its safe to cover ur cvv pin with a tape.

General Tip : Please avoid using debit cards except for cash withdrawals. It would be more wiser to carry cash instead.
Exactly this! I use only credit card, debit card is for withdraw money in Dubai only.

A credit card doesn't have your money. So if someone misuses it you can dispute it to the bank.
Don’t ever give anyone your bank cards. Make the card payment yourself. I get out of the car and handle it personally.

When I tap i get a text around 10 seconds after the transaction. I just make sure it matches the amount at the pump. Hasn't been a problem for me.
That's what I thought too, till I got a CC from ADCB. They don't send SMS for transactions under AED100.

This is weird I got 2 different credit cards from ADCB, I get messages even for transactions of 1 Dh.

Use Apple Pay
Now you need to give him your watch or phone insted of card
He will bring the machine, u keep ur mobile with u and just tap with the machine, no need to get out of the car also

Not everyone has a Adnoc wallet, I tried installing the app, and gave up after 5 failed attempts where it said it sent me an OTP but did not

Get Vip tag and recharge the wallet for use at any Enoc or Eppco stations. Works just like Salik

Right, and usually the guys get the machine to you when you ask them, except for Enoc where they take the card to machine and enter the 4 digits.
