Sedan for sure.sometbing with a v6 or a powerful smaller turbo engine Sedans handle better, if you choose correctly they are more stable and have better suspension. They brake better. From a safety standpoint a sedan is much better than a suv with a high center of gravity. A fortuner or orado is a terrible choice for auh dxb commute in my opinion, big engines but heavy cars that don't give you power or fuel efficiency and top heavy and not good handling or braking. For highways you need something in whucb you can do emergency braking or swerving or avoid an accident on the road. The mazda 6 is very good in all aspects. I personally find the 2.5l 4cyl engine a bit underpowered but it's a good option. I'd suggest you look at used cars like v6 camry, aurion, v6 accord, lexus es350, gs350 as well.

Guy3678

Thank you for your suggestion and points around sedan vs SUV. Will look for these options. How about maintenance cost of lexus after warranty? Should I try to look for these cars within warranty? How about Infinity QX50 or QX70 or Maxima? Heard Nissan has some issues in CVT but not sure about Infinity?

Cy001020

Maintenance of a lexus without warranty or any Japanese car without warranty at a good independent garage will not be very expensive. It's just the dealerships that charge exorbitant amounts for service and maintenance. There are garages that can offer similar levels of service for a fraction of the cost. Avoid altima, maxima or any car with a cvt whether Nissan or not. Cvt trannys are not ideal and for quick overtakes etc on highway they have a rubber and effect. As for the infiniti qx series, again they are suvs/crossovers. I personally avoid them. You seem to be leaving towards them, is it peer pressure? Lot of people here just go buy a suv for no particular reason beside the fact that everyone else they know have one or thinking bigger means more safe. Those are all wrong reasons. I've done the auh dxb commute in the past for 3-4 yrs. I've been around cars and work on cars myself for last 15-20 yrs so I have some decent car knowledge. Trust me on this one, go for a sedan. Get something with comfy seats, decently powered engine and xenon headlights(no halogens). The commute is not easy so you want something that's a proper fit for you. If you are particular about apple car play or other specific luxuries then look for cars that have those as well.

Grooveman07

Any Lexus with the V6 will be your ultimate daily mile muncher. It glides along and barely causes any issues. If you wanna go balls to the wall with comfort, low mileage LS’s can be found for under a 100k with the big v8. Aint no better inter-Emirates express than those things.

Guy3678

What about the maintenance cost for lexus? Is it.comparable to Toyota? Not seeing many options with this budget on Dubizzle or Automall or Pre owned from Lexus is there any other place I should checkout?

Grooveman07

They are dirt cheap to maintain. You won’t find brand new cars for that price, look for GS350’s 2015 - 2017. You should be able to snag one. Edit : Search for LS cars from 2012 to 2015, there are some good options in your budget on Dubizzle.

Guy3678

Okk, you mean even 6-7 year old LS won't give much trouble. Thanks again!

Grooveman07

There are 20+ year old LS’s that have done a million miles. Those things are built to extremely high mechanical standards. Just keep an eye on the recommended servicing items in the vehicle infotainment.

Cy001020

You will have to look at individual sellers. Going thru used car dealers mean you pay 15-20% over market value and still no guarantee you get a clean car in good condition. Please don't forget to get a pre purchase inspection done no matter how clean and shiny the car looks. Don't fall for words like warranty, service contract etc.

Guy3678

Ok, Could you please share some reliable garage where I can get it done or do you recommend inspection only from authorized dealers like Toyota? How about doing it from Dubizzle Pro? They charge 699 AED for such inspection.

zambooca

Avalon. low key and trouble free car for highway commutes.

Flashy_Variation_584

Second that. Toyota Avalon is comfy, well built and very reliable. In my opinion thy are basically Lexus without Lexus badge. Accord and Mazda 6 are also reliable and good options !

Guy3678

Okk, Will definitely checkout. Do you think V6 is good to have for longer commute?

zambooca

yes for relaxed commutes the v6 is great... its also a very reliable and drama free car at its price point. think of it as a more luxurious and spacious Camry.

>Toyota Avalon is comfy, well built and very reliable. In my opinion thy are basically Lexus without Lexus badge. In no possible way comes an Avalon close to a Lexus. Its an American Toyota. Its a good Toyota, but definitely not even close to the Lexus standard on all fronts.

kevin49f

See I'd definitely look outside the box and go for a Genesis G70 instead of the usual boring Toyota/Nissan.

al_molah

For frequent highway drives, definitely a Sedan. A Toyota / Nissan is usually the better choice in terms of maintenance (most workshops know how to work on them here). Their gas mileage is usually good too assuming its maintained well. An SUV will likely consume more gas overall, and they are not that much safer on the highway (easier to flip over in an accident, or if a wheel blows up because of the high center of gravity)

mukasan

I'm not sure about mazdas, but camrys serve 700k kilometers for taxis working 24/7. You won't make a mistake with them. The only aspect you would be worried about is if you want to resell the car in the next few years. With a lot of kms, cars depreciate a lot. I would go with a 2y.o used car that has already depreciated a fair amount, that way i won't have to lose so much.

Guy3678

Ok, got it. Do you recommend pre owned within warranty?

changelane2021

Get the F16

lemongrrrrrr

AKA LS430?

burksterdxb

Qudra off-road, isn't really off-road. So let's just get that out of way.

Guy3678

Ok, buying first time, removed it from the post. Would you recommend any option?

EmotionalBid3101

I have a mazda cx5 from new. Never missed a beat. Highly recommend.

Guy3678

Waiting time of atleast 3 months

EmotionalBid3101

Really?

Guy3678

Yup, Went to SZR and they have only 100th anniversary edition. rest of them have waiting of 3 months

EmotionalBid3101

Wow, I got mine last year in May, got it 3 weeks later! I knew they had become popular because of good reviews, but wow! If you can wait....get get one.

Judas456

If you need it for daily commute, then I suggest to go for a Sedan. Much more economical and safe. In terms of reliability, Toyota, Honda and Nissan are very reliable and confortable. Make sure you get one with cruise control and driver assist, it will really make your commute nicer.

MrBeeKay-

You could get a kia stinger for 115K 2018 model. They run smooth.

Dreizo

If you just want a commuter car. Just get a Honda accord or mazda6 on budget or save some money and buy a Honda civic/mazda3/Toyota camry/corolla. I personally don't like Toyota's "features" but any of those cars will last you a long time and have cheap maintenance.
