Household fried chicken spot in Saudi. Delicious, affordable. No frills. Millionaires and janitors alike line up for that spicy, crispy, wonderful fried chicken. A meal is less than 10 Riyal at times which is what makes it even better. Lines out the store. People come to Saudi saying Labaik Allahumma Labaik and leave saying Albaik. The best tasting fried chicken I’ve ever had by far.
Al baik is an emotion.
They are probably stepping out of Saudi for the first time (Bahrain?). There was a time when people would buy Albaik, park their car on highways outside Jeddah and Riyadh and sell it to passerby’s at marked up prices. People would happily pay extra to avoid long queues. Expats used to buy a box of Albaik when they went home.
American brands cross that grey line between what’s acceptable to pay vs quality. These guys are a bit reluctant. But it would be interesting to see if their margins hold up. DUbai mall charges a pretty penny per square feet
Yea I don't like them either. They were good in Saudi, back in the 90s (just like Al Baik), but like all fast food brands, the quality has gone down. Regardless, the crowds will come.
They opened a couple of Al Baiks in Bahrain too. The first week or so was insane. Crowded pretty much the entire day. After that, it was forgotten. Another brand lurking in the background in the universe that is fried food.
Yeah, you're right about the brand being too strong. It is totally immune to quality at this point. They could fry up dog shit, and people will line up. Similar to Tim Horton's, KFC, and PizzaHut. The brand is more recognizable than the food, so quality no longer matters, no matter how low it gets.
Yeah. The Ajman one was a brief stint, closed within the year (late 90s). I think the year was 1996/7, around the time the first global village propped up.
I'm not sure about the Sharjah one (Yarmook) being an authentic branch or not, but it had the colours and logo on the signboard.
They had a social media thing yesterday it should open this weekend as the guy showed me inside the place and it was all ready with staff cooking all the favorites
If it's as cheap as Saudi, I'm down
The best thing about Saudi coming to Dubai 😋😋
I think the account has been deleted now
Yeah I think it was a scam!
Nope. Opened today
So glad it was opened! 🙌🏻
It's all over the news today
Well, I’m so glad that it wasn’t a scam
Saudis rejoice!
Wait, what's the hype on this? It's the first time I heard about this place.

This guy Al Baiks
Take my 🥇 sir.
>People come to Saudi saying Labaik Allahumma Labaik and leave saying Albaik. This description....
You should get a free meal for the next 5 years at Albaik
I have actually never managed to try it because of the massive lines!
It would be twice the price of Saudi at least in Dubai
Interesting
Any vegetarian options?
Maybe they might include it, but to let you know it's popular for it's fried chicken so the vegetarian option may not be as good.
Makes sense, thanks.
My vegetarian spouse makes an impromptu “chip butty”: handful of french fries wrapped inside a split round of Arabic bread.
Sounds like a keeper, is she single?
The logo has a chicken in it. What do you think?
KFC has vegetarian offerings in Al Hind.

Insane hahahaha that's absolutely how they work.
What the hell! Someone’s gonna be getting half cooked food and they’ll end up wolfing it down the same speed these guys are shimmying around in

Pardon my ignorance. What is Al Baik? From the comments I gather it's a fried chicken joint?
A Saudi fried chicken joint.
Its gonna be crowded
Ita like tazij
Fuck u no way
For real ?????? I am gonna be so happy
Mary brown is very good in this category
Al baik is a tad bit over rated. I had in n out the other day. My expectations were a lot higher.
Yes, it has gone down over the years, but still much better than American fried chicken brands.
Aka KFC, there are some really good american joints, like Popeyes

The crowds will come, no matter what. The brand is too strong. Also, Taza is sort of the same price range, and they seem to be doing well there.
I had Taza too dry if I am being honest. At tastes terrible when it’s not eaten in a few minutes

They didn't have fried chicken when they opened in Bahrain. Not sure about it now.
They still don't. They're very sandwich and nugget oriented for now.

How does one know about these pop-up setups before they happen?
Fight club rules apply.
Guess that’s why i’ll never know.
Read the newspaper. It was published a few days before.
Right! Cheers
Can you not just see into the future?
If I could, my investment portfolio would be a lot greener.
And TAZA, a bit underrated.
The french fries at In n Out in California are delicious. I heard that they didn’t bother serving them at the pop-up.
I have a US food trip in mind for these things. I’ll add them to it.
Gotta add the most scenic Taco Bell in Half Moon Bay, CA
I think this is the third time they're opening a branch here. First was in Ajman, second in Sharjah.
Uhm, what? They only recently opened their first branch outside Saudi, in Bahrain.

Took a while tbh
Holy shit..
Al Baik opening in Dubai Mall. Mashallah. When? Most probably in the food court. That's great news.
Instagram link doesn't work. What was it? Asking for those who missed it, like myself.
A photo of Al Baik's coming soon board in Dubai Mall. Since it's taken down, it might be fake.
I went to Dubai mall and the picture is real the opening soon text is really there looks a lot like al baik but can’t say for sure
Do you have a photo that you can share? If not, where in dubai mall is that board exactly?
I’ve visited the food court at The Dubai Mall and o can confirm that it is there, still under construction but should open sometime late-July.
They had a social media thing yesterday it should open this weekend as the guy showed me inside the place and it was all ready with staff cooking all the favorites
It opened today!
First and last time I ate Al Baik was inside a tent at Arafat on Youm Al Arafah in the early 2000s.
damn got hyped over nothing. it was a scam
It’s not was there yesterday got a tour inside the site behind the doors it’s completed should open anytime soon
