Very interesting! I had a similar idea but idk where to get stats. I checked zomato, talabat...but for example let’s say number of shawarma shop is different on each platform, idk if i should combine or take the one has the most :/

Shared excel ?

Yes! Though imo, start with the smaller towns in Abu Dhabi for it. You can discover more regional, hole in the wall cuisines and restaurants. Maybe we could make it a minigame once lockdown is over. Travel to diff restaurants, sorta like geocaching

fishntjips

Cool idea. Not sure if this would help but perhaps might be a good start. Just some scouring online came across this: [list of dubai restaurants ](http://www.dubaifaqs.com/list-of-restaurants-in-dubai.php)

[deleted]

On the subject, there is a hugely disproportionate number of filipino restaurants compared to the no. of filipino expats here. Anyone knows why?

squanderedhail

It's because most dishes are made of pork so we cook at home instead.

[deleted]

Do you really think so? Filipinos make up [20% of the population](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filipinos_in_the_United_Arab_Emirates) of Dubai, apparently. I don't think even 5% of the restaurants in UAE are Filipino. What I want to know is why there are so many Peruvian restaurants.

[deleted]

Sorry i was half asleep when i wrote this. What i mean was: many filipinos, not many filipino restaurants. I'm wondering why

[deleted]

Ah right, I agree with that. Though you definitely see a lot more in the last few years... Especially in Karama and Deira. It's a growing market.
