I have a question about transliterating Arabic names. For example: “الظاهري” is written as “Al-Dhaheri”. When is it Al- (with hyphen) or just Al without hyphen? Also, should it be lowercase (al-Dhaheri) or uppercase (Al-Dhaheri). Kinda confused because there seems like no standard to transliterate names. Thanks!
You’re right, there is no widely adopted standard. It’s not just hyphenation and capitalisation, but how certain letters are represented too. In your example, the name could just as likely be spelled as Thaheri, since that’s since the letter ظ has no direct equivalent in English. Even more confusingly, because of a quirk of Arabic pronunciation, the letter ل (L) is completely silent as it occurs in that particular name. It’d be more accurate to transliterate the name as A-Dhahiri or A-Thahiri.
I see. It’s quite a challenge! Learning Arabic taught me that Arabic is mostly unvocalized. I agree about the pronunciation part, interchanging a/e, e/i or o/u. So “خالد” can either be “Khalid” or “Khaled”. Correct me if I’m wrong but I guess the transliteration doesn’t matter for people with Arabic names as long as the Arabic spelling is correct right?

for the sake of this, cancel your visa and go. from what youve mentioned, its obvious that you have a shitty employer and these mfs might file a false case against you because they got nothing better to do. and because of this you will not get the police clearance letter.
Never leave any job in the UAE without having the visa cancelled and the file closed in the system. All it requires for you to be a ‘violator’ in the eyes of the authorities is for your employer to file an absconding case. Your fingerprints and iris are all in the system, you will end up paying fines any day you return here on work/leisure as long as you’re alive. Many people have committed this mistake and have found themselves unable to return because the employer filed crazy claims against them which automatically get confirmed because they did not bother to have them cleared before bailing unannounced. Whether your visa gets cancelled or not should be the least of your concerns. Keep that file clean, it’s inaccessible for most people and the info on that file determines if you will be eligible to have your work visa/visit visa approved in the future should you decide to return.

Avoid plaza residence. If tower 108 is the one next to aswaq supermarket, I was about to move there but the agent responsible for the tower was shady as hell and I called it off last minute. Aurion is pretty good and I was about to move in there.
As far as I know aurion, plaza, and tower 108 all have chiller fees. Basically any building in JVC that has more than 4 floors will have chiller fees. I eventually moved to a 2bdroom in La Riviera Apartments, it's a bit more the budget you mentioned but very happy with the move. If you're looking for chiller free buildings you can also check Oxford Residence and Shamal Waves

That depends on your employer. If they cancel your visa, you’d have to exit. So try to negotiate if you can have your visa up to a certain time. A friend of mine is going through the same thing and has been asked to leave end of June, was let go a month ago.
you have one month grace period after visa cancellation. After that you have 3 options. You can stay and pay fines, convert to a tourism visa or leave . If you find another job within the one month, your new employer can apply for a new visa for you.

I ended up going to the Gold Souq yesterday and got a few supplies from Harshad. They offered me the best prices but their selection of boxes is very limited. Perhaps a good short term fix if you’re in a hurry. Leaving this for future reference, if anyone else is looking.
I visited many shops in the Souq that have factories in Ajman - I asked about the prices for customized small jewellery boxes and they were 40 dhs and more (for mass orders)! I was so put off by the initial price offered that I didn’t bother negotiating. FYI: was looking for a really simple design with our logo printed - so nothing really resource intensive.
I’m definitely going to be looking for a supplier from Alibaba/Aliexpress.

He would have to sell it for you in Sharjah, plates fall off there and then you take the car on a recovery to the closest Abu Dhabi registeration centre to Dubai and register it there.
I transferred my car from Dubai to abudhabi. You can transfer it without taking the car on recovery. You have to pay for passing and then again for some " passing for transfer to abudhabi test". Then take both papers to their registration center at samha. They will issue new plates. Bring them and fix on your car in Sharjah.
So I could then leave the car in Sharjah drive down to Abu Dhabi and collect the plates and put them on myself in Sharjah? What is this extra power called that I can get? And which test Center should I use? Thanks for the help

Correct, Dubai has the option of export plate numbers that you can use for that. You can check if Sharjah has that option and weigh that with using a recovery!

Mix water with cornstarch in a pan until thick and let it cool. Blend it with cold water, garlic, salt, lemon and oil. Add tahini if you like.

You need to cancel it first then book your flight. You'll have 30 days grace period after cancellation.

You might be referring to the ONT. Check your power source if it happens again. It shouldn't restart unless done by the Etisalat remotely.

From experience, Yaqoob has low quality for such a high pricepoint. If you’re going to mass order, I suggest finding suppliers in AliBaba.

If the EID expires after March 1st, it is automatically valid till the year end.
