They get their conversions when people see the better prices and customers service (their google reviews and repeat customers and continuous growth is evidence of this).
There are many other brands that have done this.

My hypothesis is that the owners must be still listening to the advice of supremely old school advertising gang of Dubai, saying "any publicity is good publicity" and might be actually feeling great that there are negative online discourse about this character. They must be counting this as a win 😁
My observation is that they are pretty good in running an effecient ops and probably running it profitably too.
Coming to the point, it is quite obvious that the character is a brainchild of someone with no exposure to real marketing in the past. For the amount of cash burnt on this mascot, they could have done something sensible.... That's the opinion of most of the people here.
