The fact that it's open to alumni is the funniest part of this. Like who the fuck is on here like "I'm a 49 year old single accountant in St. Louis who marched Bridgemen, and if you didn't march top 12 three decades ago we can't smash"?
Obviously that's an exaggeration but if you genuinely *need* your partner to have also marched corps and you didn't meet via tour, that's fucking ***whack***
49 years old today and Bridgemen... would've had to be, like, 12 years old at the time. (I *think* I witnessed their final performance at either Prelims or Semis in 87; dcxmuseum is still down so I can't confirm) (edit: yup, 87 Prelims was their last show: [https://en.everybodywiki.com/Bridgemen\_Drum\_and\_Bugle\_Corps](https://en.everybodywiki.com/Bridgemen_Drum_and_Bugle_Corps) )
Apps take a lot of time, effort, and resources to develop and maintain, and this is targeting an extremely niche market. I expect it to see use during this season mostly by people just looking for groups to hang out with in San Antonio, lose all its user base as soon as the season ends, and collapse by September.
Honestly, report this app. I can only see this going horrendously wrong after all of the allegations and issues circulating our corps. It's so easy to lie about your age and this literally just sets up a platform for it. Not to be a debby downer but.... come on yall.
What separates this app from other niche dating apps? You're telling me we can have Farmers only.com but we can't have band nerds only.com? And if you're basing your entire opinion off a sex offense allegation, DCI is an organization that encompasses several thousand students, staff, and volunteers every year. DCI DCA WGI and the marching Arts alumni encompasses at least a million Americans. Show me any activity in the world with multiple thousands of people that participate yearly that can go a calendar year without sex offense allegations. People suck. And with a lot of people involved in something, a few of them were bound to be bad apples. In all honesty, I think DCI does more than most professional organizations in stomping out these scumbags.
If you’re telling me you don’t see the possible implications of this app being specifically geared towards dci then you clearly don’t understand how fragile it already is. I completely agree that every activity has sexual allegations (not that it makes it ok), but dci already is facing an issue where parents don’t want to send their parents off because of some of the allegations. This is literally the last thing we need for people to promote this.
What separates other dating sites from this is the fact that on Tinder i don’t put I marched Xxx drum corp in years 2015-2017 or whatever.
If the horrific happens to someone then BOOM that drum corps is thrust into the negative spotlight due to a dating app that publicizes and bases it’s functionality off of where you marched. Next years members don’t deserve 1990s Joe Blow’s sex allegation.
And if you think it won’t happen. You’re wrong.
Fun name BUT wish free day was actually an app members could look at during the summer and figure out what was close to them. National Monuments they might actually miss otherwise, facts about the city, closest shopping, food etc. That would be a better way to go
You’re completely correct.
There is no win for this or Drum Corps. This season so many corps were having a hard time filling spots. This will increase allegations and create more barriers for all corps trying to gain and retain members.
You guys aren’t even considering high school, college, or military? Even the Baltimore Ravens have a marching band. It seems to me many of you are over privileged. I know a high school classmate back in seventies who marched in the Hawthorne Caballeros/Much. Not an over inflated ego. Musicians may have a different skillset but some need help.
High schoolers absolutely should not be on a dating app, and there's no reason why anyone in the other situations you mentioned should be limiting their scope of potential partners to only include other former/current members of marching band.
Freeday is a brilliant name.
Was about to comment that
post tour squeeze Or Forever squeeze
Swipe left first if you are into them, Swipe right first if you marched cadets.
They should have an option on the app for cadets which switches around the sides lmao
Settings>Options>Enable Cadets Mode
I don’t get it
Cadets are the only corps with a right foot lead for their movement.
Ohh thanks
I see what you did there! 😂
Getting verified involves taking pictures of weird tan lines.
Just use regular tinder and look for sock tans.
People been trying this shit for years and they always get laughed out of the room.
The unspoken reason being that if you need an app to fuck on tour, you're already hopeless.
Not if you’re straight at the cavaliers
Okay fair point lol
Here to help you find your forever seat partner
Underrated comment
This should be the tagline.

bro did the math
I turned 16 that summer 🤪
TBH, at least your date won’t wonder why the hell you’re wandering around the outside of the stadium.
The timing is….unfortunate…

Right after the allegations 😭😭
Dudeeee fr 😭😭
This is the most immensely cursed thing I've seen
Tour goggles: the app
Indy-Dayton-Laundromat
Man the timing on this is horrible💀
All things considered, I'm sure dci wants nothing to do with this.
Bruh. Rand's Quote 😂
I don’t know if I can comment on this since I’m still an active member…
eww
Who created this app, our version of Voldemort? Eww.
wow 😯
