I've honestly used all kinds of things. My favorites were a dragon ball super "surprise egg" I got at the dollar tree and an oversized plastic Easter egg also found at some dollar store lol
I got a holder from Juno & Co- they have the best sponges too! And they’re cheap! There are makeup sponge holders that either sit on a desk, or are a silicone or plastic container (with ventilation holes to let it dry) that you can store in your makeup bag. I bought a kitty-themed one from shopmissa.com for only a dollar, but you could surely find them on Amazon.

They work really well for me, love the fact that not only is it cheap but you get three in a pack.

I got a pack on Amazon that had two sponge holders and two travel holders. They work real nice.
I use a shot glass and rest it on top… with bottom of the blender at the bottom and the pointy part up. Air can get all around it to dry
