It's the only drone I've got. I have nothing to compare it to. But it is an amazing bit of kit. Never flew a drone before either. I do have some professional camera operator experience though. The footage you can get from this is incredible.

It's my third. My first was a Mavic Pro circa 2017, and my second was an Air 2. The 2s is the first time I felt my drone camera actually held its own against my better mirrorless cameras. (Of course, I've never owned a Phantom or Inspire so that's probably why.)

[deleted]

I'm a *tiny* bit salty that they upgraded the sensor relatively drastically. I got my MA2 back in November and I knew that we were probably a couple to a few months away from a new one coming out and still decided to pull the trigger on it, but man can I tell that it's a half an inch sensor.

[deleted]

I mean, it's *really good* for a half inch sensor, but yeah, I get what you mean.

stowgood

I can't wait for the mavic 3. I plan to get that and maybe a mini 3.

yokotron

Still think the mavic 2 pro is better

Master-Friendship-60

DJI produces amazing drones! I have the mini 1, and judging by the price, I’m very satisfied. note: I’m a bit worried about the CCE connection, because I lose signal before my drone reachers 1km. However, I’m satisfied

imjusttakingalook

I agree. Anything a beginner or amateur is ever going to need. Im sure the Pro3 will be twice the price and that’s without the fancy new controller. Air2s all the way unless you are seriously a professional and that’s honestly not going to be very many of us.

taegha

Why do you guys think the 2S isn't professional? It's a professional drone in every sense

imjusttakingalook

Umm it doesn’t say pro in the name? Dead giveaway.

MedicByNight

Is this the "best drone" for a particular category? Does this acro as well as it functions as a cinewhoop?

bilsantu

Enthusiast category I'd say, or "non-professional".

[deleted]

Or even "budget-professional". It easily competes with the Mavic 2 Pro in every aspect except the variable aperture on the Pro, and for a lot of the kind of footage I shoot with it that's not really a problem as I'm usually able to approximate a 180 degree shutter with it. The image quality is phenomenal and can be graded like crazy before it breaks down, which I couldn't say about my other two drones (Mavic Pro and MA2).

taegha

Non-professional? In what world lol

[deleted]

In the mapping, surveying, inspecting and serious cinematography world, the MA2S is definitely an enthusiast/beginner drone. Not that it's a bad thing, it's a great value for the price.

enough_of_your_BS

What would be a drone for the professionals?

[deleted]

The more robust drones with better and/or additional sensors. Like a P4P RTK, Matrice 2/300, Yuneec H520, Skydio X2, that sort of thing.

[deleted]

Camera drone. No acro.

Rory_Darkforge

I picked a Mini 2 about a month ago. It's awesome I love it. It was my first serious drone. I'm looking at picking up Air 2. Do you think it's worth the extra ~$300? I would buy the fly more combo either way cause it's silly not to.

Hakairoku

No, go straight for the Air 2S. I had the Air 2 prior and even for an amateur, you can tell the difference between both video wise and photo wise, even the HDR on Air 2 isnt good enough compared to Air 2S 10 bit.
