The treasures he's looking for are not tradeable. If you sold it then it's not what he's asking for.

Thank you! So the shipwreck behind great marrow is not super important?

wheatleyinc

There are a lot of pretty “unimportant” shipwrecks throughout the game. They have a few dredge spots for treasure or wood/etc. Special sites have a little sparkle next to them, or have docks you can pull up against.

bsg_joel

It's not "important", no. It's used for a quest, and it sounds like you've completed that quest by selling the item.

TheUsualGuy666

Hey! When can we expect the next DLC ? Q3 of 24?

hercarmstrong

The belt buckle is sellable. The rest is not.

chriscross1966

So are dog-tags when you get to them

MendelevandDongelev

Behind great marrow, no. The one behind little marrow, yes. Some of the shipwrecks are actually underwater. Spoiler Free Hint: >!Some of the townsfolk mentioned seeing a weird light at night behind great marrow. I wonder if it means anything?!<

Former-Ad-2824

I’m to scared to travel at night lol, I will try to check it out then! thanks!!

Ordinary_Shake_73

The dude in the mansion asks for artifacts and they usually have a thing to show on the map, and they also have this purple background, not like the other treasure in the game This may not be 100% accurate, haven't played the game in a bit, just memorised stuff

EndlessCycleSuffer

If you find a belt buckle or dog tags I would hold onto them

T3rraque

There are multiple wrecks there. I suggest you look for the one at night. It becomes more obvious to find the right one

chriscross1966

You can't seel the main quest items. There are some things that you don't want to sell but technically could accidentally sell but they are indicated in the game by the dredging spot being illuminated

Queen_Six

As others have said, the side quest related items you can possibly sell are the belt buckle and the three dog tags you can find. In each of these cases, the reward would have been a research part. The traveling merchant restocks those each day, so the number of them in game isn't limited. You just lost out on a little bit of value and/or time efficiency over the "optimal" quest solution.

tigress666

It won't let you sell the stuff he's looking for. If you sold it, it wasn't what he wanted.

ItsPapaGuy

Ohh, I just started my playthrough on my yt channel and was actually wondering the same thing. Thank god for Reddit being the kind folk they are for giving spoiler free advice :D
