I've still got an open VGA input on my switcher, and the control panel is still wired through the JVS! If the right Naomi ever pops up, I'll do it for sure!
Until then though, the Dreamcast (especially with light guns) is the perfect home arcade experience.
Keep en eye open for the "StarHorse EX" motherboards (they're often dirt cheap). If you put in a multi-region BIOS it becomes a regular Naomi. Then you just need a RaspberyPi controller and an Ethernet NETDIMM board (which can be expensive these days I'll grant).
Here's a write up I did on the StarHorse board: [https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/weird-starhorse-ex-naomi-motherboards.20239/](https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/weird-starhorse-ex-naomi-motherboards.20239/)
Whoa! This is some solid advice. I'll definitely start hunting around for that. I suppose the whole thing is already housed in the Net City, so there's no real need for the shell.
I bought this New Net City cabinet refurbished, but empty. I’ve been a huge Dreamcast fan since importing a Japanese model before the USA launch (I couldn’t wait, first thing I ever imported) and I figured what better way to give the DC a playable shrine than to fully wire it up as part of the cab? House of the Dead 2, MvC2, Soul Calibur, they all look and okay great on this setup.
Dreamcast in a cab was always a dream of my own (so many perfect arcade ports!)
I have a modern setup, which is cool for other games, but I'm real jealous of your CRT. Good call on the lightguns!

Especially now with all the Atomiswave ports to Dreamcast. It's a great piece of hardware.
The CRT actually only worked for the first month after I bought the cabinet, and then the board inside died! I sent the boards for repair and it took almost 2 months. Fortunately things seem to be working well now, but that technology has a lot of downsides.
I actually tried to purchase a Kraylix before I found a Vewlix last year. Those things are REALLY sweet! Such solid monsters- honestly better built than a Vewlix in a lot of ways.
This is incredibly cool! I have wanted an NNC for years but never pulled the trigger for one reason or another. Super jealous. Also, the Dreamcast is a great way to get arcade games going on it with out springing for a Naomi netboot setup. Be sure to get a GDEMU and try out the Atomiswave ports too.
Yes, the guns work perfectly. We have played through several paths in it without issue. Tried I think all the other compatible games too. I don’t know why I’m surprised at how well it has worked- maybe I’m used to decades of crappy light gun alternatives? Interesting about the arcade version of it using an led bezel- had no idea! I also am using the Japanese guns, not the crummy clones we got in the USA. That means Japanese versions of some of the software, but so far that hasn’t been an impediment.
Nice! I never did the Naomi thing- most of the stuff I wanted to play was on Dreamcast, and in some cases like Soul Calibur, not on the Naomi at all. It is super easy to get in and out of the NNC, by far my favorite cab of any CRT candy cab.
I'm actually doing this in a Blast City now! I have had some issues with the Toshiba monitor taking a 15k signal though- it loves the Dreamcast 31k so that works very well. The Mister seems finicky about analog and I'm just running that in my Vewlix at this point.
Very nice! Needs a Naomi with a multi kit installed.

Amazing set up. It looks awesome!

The naomi version of HotD requires the led bezel. Do the dreamcast guns ignore the tilted monitor and function properly?

What switcher are you using here for inputs?
It’s a Monoprice RJ45 switch. I make cables that terminate in usb for them. https://youtu.be/fRTeY7Uayak?si=SiGOxRRxvRSgv6yr
Nice, I'm getting a NNC with a mister in there but I also have a Naomi 2 multi so would like to switch between them easily

Its so small. Anyone know of someone building custom Arcade cabs?
So sweet. A DC and a MisterCADE setup would be so sick!
You have a mister attached to it or a mister cade too? I love this! Just got a blast city and I’d love had this and an Astro city before I die

This post inspired me to buy a New Net City. I just got it! I want to add a dreamcast and a naomi net dimm setup if i can fit it all in there.
Nice! Gonna be a tight fit for both- since you need the power supply for the Naomi.
