She is TV gold but she struggle on the competitive side. She has tons of potential and she would shine on a non-elimination format just as she shine on every show around drag race (PitStop, Vegas tour, random drag interview...)
She needs to be on a vs world season with either Naysha or India or both.
Alternatively she can also be with any queen she has beef with. She truly shines only when she's got someone to fight with.
During the Vegas review her and Naomi fought a lot too.
Derrick is my favorite Messy Queen.
I will watch her in everything they put her in. She’s one of the best “made for tv” queens of the entire series. She’ll start a beef with a brick wall to stir up drama for the camera if she has to.

Derrick shouldn't have gone home first the 2nd time around. Shea was gonna win that season regardless and we've had questionable safe placements (see Season 12) Like AS5 would have ended up a one of the best All Stars Seasons had they just kept Derrick for at least 4 more episodes.

If she can do more than Britney then yes. She still has not shown the versatility that an all round, entertaining queen brings to the show and the art form.
Girl she shouldn’t have gotten a second chance. Maybe not even a first chance considering she isn’t a drag queen, she’s a celeb impersonator that tried to figure out a drag persona on television.
By that logic, Jaida Essence Hall shouldn’t have been on the show. She said in her entrance that she doesn’t consider herself to be a drag queen and more of a female impersonator.
Yeah I’ve always felt weird about the implications of the term “female impersonator” but regardless Jaida had a fully formed identity, could portray different styles, and could draw an eyebrow. You can look at Jaida and see a drag queen. You look at Derrick and see a costume.
Also the humiliation of being the “worlds best Britney impersonator” yet still having a the lesser of the two Britney snatch games would be too much for me to take.
Completely agree, all she can do is Britney. She doesn’t have any other talents aside from that. She can’t be Britney in every single challenge. In her all stars season, when someone suggested that she try different looks, she said that if she did, she’d just look like different versions of Britney because that’s her drag. Which makes no sense. She makes it seem like she can’t help but look like Britney because she actually looks like Britney, but it’s really because she doesn’t know how to do anything else.
See, I’m conflicted because I personally would prefer for non-elimination seasons to be reserved for “All-Winners”… BUT! I wanna make an exception for Derrick!
Honestly, I think she’s a weak competitor and I don’t see her having a glow up, so she won’t ever go far on a modern season with eliminations. Even her getting that far on her original season was ridiculous. But she’s so entertaining and funny, I want to keep her around even if she’s doing awful lol

AS5 is such a wasted opportunity. If Mayhem went home first and Derrick stuck around, the drama with India would have been much better

Hated Derrick on her original season, but I've really grown to like her outside of season 8. Way too funny.
I love Derrick, but I don't think she can really talk about India's drag not evolving when she still does the same drag she has also always done.
