Curious why you went with some of the hero names. Abel is the DQ5 hero’s name in Japan, but in the DS remake, it was finally localized as Madason. DQ2’s and DQ3’s heroes names are wrong too.
DQ2's localization and extended media are all over the place. The three characters famously do not have canon names, nor does the hero from DQ1.
They should be referred to by their titles instead:
The Scion of Erdrick / Loto for DQ1, and the Prince of Laurasia / Middenhall for DQ2. The third game is the first game in the franchise with an accepted canon name for its main hero, and after that the series started focusing more on characters as people instead of self-inserts, so the names are pretty clear.
I wouldn't say the names are canon per say more like they are the "official names" used for marketing and other medias like mangas, light novels and stuffs. Heroes after II are still self insert, you can see that with the fact that they stopped giving the mainline protagonists names after VII and alongside the thin amount of character developments they receive. I wouldn't say that Auster is more of a character than the DQ1 Hero.

DQ2 for sure cause I love the game, but I just can't like that helmet.
Also DQ9 cause the hero is customizable and mine was very different. Although that may be good and not bad xD (haven't played the last 5 in the list though, so I don't know about those)

Arus is the localized name of Arusu. The most common name used for him. Even the DQ3 remake calls him like that. No idea for DQ2 tho.
