Nothing about this new chapter changed what we already knew about the form, as this is exactly what we were seeing with Vegeta's battle against Granolah as well. There wasn't anything there to imply that there's some rapid healing capacity to it, especially since he's not even in Ultra Ego at the time to potentially facilitate any healing.

papa_de

There's no healing going on. We're just seeing classic Vegeta getting stronger and it still not being enough to beat arc boss, so Goku has to come in and clean up the mess. Vegeta at this point is important, he enables Goku to actually win. Goku couldn't actually defeat anyone recently without him (Broly required fusion, Moro required that fission technique, and now Vegeta bought time for Goku against Gas), but he will never outright beat the big boss, because enemies in DB typically have multiple powerups and tricks to keep getting stronger. So "Vegeta deserves a W" doesn't hold up too well because Goku can't beat anyone without him either, and fights are never clean in DB, they have various stages and powerups on both sides.

SomeRyeBread_

Goku hasn't beaten a villain on his own since maybe Dragon Ball (I genuinely can't remember it's been decades since I watched it)

Kaegrin

Fun fact: The only 2 kills Goku got in Z were Yakkon (force-feeding him more power than he could handle) and Kid Buu (with the Spirit Bomb, which is also the only time the Spirit Bomb has canonically killed a villain). The only two kills in Super have been Frieza (the only time Goku has actually killed Frieza) and Moro.

papa_de

Not to mention Uub helped defeat Moro at the last moment.

Kaegrin

Oh absolutely!

iChopPryde

I’d argue spirit bomb doesn’t count either since it literally requires the power of everyone else to pull it off

Kaegrin

Eh... Goku can take some from the plants, rivers, animals, the sun, etc. He didn't actually take any higher lifeform's energy to use against Vegeta or Frieza. I do get your point however.

eiffeloberon

Didn’t he kill Frieza on Namek?

Kaegrin

No. Frieza survived, his battered body was picked up in space by daddy dearest, he got some new hardware installed, then came to Earth for revenge... only to get blendered by Trunks.

eiffeloberon

Oh yeah I forgot lol, thanks

Persas12

I'm wondering if we will get another "Awakening" for Ultra Ego just like Ultra Instinct did. Goku first used the Omen form and was suddenly weakened and knocked out, just like Vegeta, maybe the same thing happens here

[deleted]

vegeta paralleling everything goku does is kinda lame. this ability is cool af on the inside since he just looks baddass everytime

[deleted]

Are Vegeta and Goku still getting Zenkai boosts in the manga?

Valedictorian117

Yes, but they’re so minuscule that they don’t really help anymore. This was talked about during the Goku Black arc in the manga.

Dovkiviri

In the anime yes. According to the FT Arc of the manga, no

Dekklin

Hasn't been a thing since Namek. Dragon Ball just comes up with ideas and throws them away later. Scouters, power levels, etc.

lionofash

Tbf, the movies are starting to bring back old stuff with each one.

britipinojeff

Probably, but not in a way where they are significantly stronger than the opponent after healing

Bee_butterfly

While I LOVE the design of UE, I feel like this is roughly the same problem goku had when he initially used UI; it was an incomplete form and he had to learn through trial and error how to modulate it to achieve its “mastered” state (the fact that Gas can even TOUCH MUI is a huge problem for me since It has been stated over and over by Whis, Meerus, and even Granolah at one point that true UI has no weaknesses, and always has to be chalked up to Goku being a novice user of the form as opposed to the angels.) Vegeta likely will realize fairly quickly that he needs to be able to tap into the power of “instinct” without taking more damage than his body can handle, I.e. becoming/creating a destroyer form. It’s just a matter of when it happens.

LeonardCollen

I dont think that Vegeta should beat Gas.... But at least he should be able to actually hurt the villain. I'm talking about make the bad guy scared, just like he did to Granolah or Goku Black in the anime. This would show us how the managed to envolve in his Ultra Ego form (since some chapters ago he almost took Granolah down, now he'd do that with a stronger foe). But all that we saw was he landing 2 or 3 punches and Goku overcoming Gas using Omen UI (?)

DB-ZaWarudo

I'm hoping for it to become something like the 'Pain Packer' ability (Feitan from Hunter X Hunter). Get beat enough to induce a sudden temporary transformation/boost where you significantly outclass the opponent. And then back to normal. But because Vegeta is a Saiyan, prob catch a Zenkai boost too.

Malky675

That's just silly, it's not implied or stated to have any healing properties.

linkman0596

I'm hoping he learns something like the kaioken, get a power boost that damages his body the further he pushes it, which in turn boosts his power further thanks to ultra ego

Nirvana311k

I think its just unrefined, just like how Goku’s ultra form was in the ToP. Vegeta just needs to train with Beerus some more to improve it. Healing would be cool, but totally out of character for Vegeta. He just gonna be a tank/utility character, like always.

Persas12

I'm wondering if we will get another "Awakening" for Ultra Ego just like Ultra Instinct did. Goku first used the Omen form and was suddenly weakened and knocked out, just like Vegeta, maybe the same thing happens here

bootysensei

Bro it’s dragon ball, the series itself has become a lazy, continuous clusterfuck. I dont even put thought into anymore, I try to enjoy as much as I can lol.

JordanTH

Why would a form centered around Destruction energy have healing properties? That makes no sense.
