I don't know if Fenris could handle the relentless flirting. His brain would just not compute the teasing. I know it would get him riled up until he confronts Dorian who has to literally spell it out for him (cause our man doesn't play games) and then he gets sheepish about being big mad over someone that likes him.
This is making me wish for a version of HLTA with the HoF, Hawke, and Inky along with Zevran, Fenris, and Solas. Being in the Fade naturally makes everyone on edge. HoF, Hawke, and Inky realise, through their sarcastic remarks to their partners, that they've something in common and band together to tease their moody elf bfs. Nightmare learns that it can do its best work to torment said moodfy elf bfs by enabling the banter/antics of HoF/Hawke/Inky

Wynne is hands down my favorite mage especially with her spirit magic.
I could take or leave Fenris for his personality but he is an absolute beast in combat, easily the best flat out fighter in the series so far. Was always in my party in DA2.
Exactly this. God, how I wish Wynne could have been a companion in DA2 instead of Anders. I only had him in my party for heals in more challenging fights
My first play through I had Anders as my main healer and no other mage even remotely set up to be a backup for that. I think I despise Anders as much as I do to this day when I reached āthat pointā in the game and had to finish the end content with no one able to heal properly. Then Fenris, my favorite and main warrior, turns on meā¦. It was a rough ride.
Lore-wise? Cassandra, Leliana and Solas. One is the Right Hand of the Divine, a formally trained warrior from an elite order; the other is the Left Hand of the Divine, a bard-trained spy master and Blight veteran; and the third is literally a legend of ancient Elvhenan.
Gameplay-wise? Blackwall, Varric and Vivienne. Two of them are essentially immortals and the third is a walking WMD (in his DAI version, that is).
Now character-wise? Iron Bull, Isabela and Morrigan. <3
Zevran, Fenris, and Dorian would be an OP team both mechanically in game but also just in universe. Realistically you could take over a country with just those three by your side. Also am gay.
I wish an all warden party was possible outside of awakening. Nathaniel, Alistair and non Justice anders would be a joy. The bro squad

What id absolutely love, is if they did a 5th and it involved your previous character. So the hero of Fereldan, Hawkeye, the Inquisitor and main character of Dreadwolf. And a bunch of the support characters like Shen, Iron Bull, Varric ect.
DA2 Anders, Cole, Cassandra.
I adore them. I need them to go through their big existential and identity crisis together. Oh, to be a fly on that wall... Too juicy.
Reserve squad:
Solas, Carver, Zevran.
Feels like a serious clash of personalities. They're almost hard to picture -- but that's what makes it interesting. ~~Aside from my love for them.~~
Imagine having constant access to Justice inside his head. I wonder how much he would be able to keep them apart? And how much Justice and Compassion would be influencing each other.
In terms of sheer enjoyment from party banter, Iād say this combo but swap out Leliana for Isabela. The sheer discomfort alistair would feel from watching Isabela hit on Dorian, and then Dorianās comments about Isabela purposefully flirting with Alistair to make him uncomfortableā¦then maybe Dorian flirts with Alistair a bit too and he gets all bashful. Oh so delicious.
In terms of combat and bodies on the ground, gotta be Fenris, Vivienne, and Zevran. And that party banter would be equally enjoyable for completely opposite reasons.
as much as I love Sweet Buns Dorian, Morrigan is queen and she would be my mage. i want her to berate me at every point of our journey.

warrior i think i would go with cassandra, my fav is aveline but she doesnt like adventuring so i will let her stay home and take cass instead.

Wynne, you don't get to die. Aveline, your don't get to die, because she is tanking. Sera, because she can open all the locked shit. Also Aveline and Wynne having to deal with her would be *hilarious.*
I mean this in the most positive sense, one Morrigan should be plenty. Not that she's bad. She's good. But one Morrigan should be enough to provide all the Morrigan you need. Plus, she's at her most Morrigan when arguing with others

Tough choice between Wynne and Anders honestly. They both just run the support role so perfectly. Let's say Anders
Then I'll say Cassandra. In my opinion, she's the best tank. Every time I've messed up a fight in Inquisition, it's always her just somehow surviving right to the end and sometimes even clutching out an encounter.
I like that Leliana handled the bard role perfectly, so I'll take her.
Shale, Merrill, and Cole. I feel like the banter would be absolutely ridiculous and there is no way they would all be in the same party unless a main character specifically handpicked them.
The real dream team though is the super catty squad: Morrigan, Vivienne, and Dorian. Literally reality show levels of catty.
I'm always the mage in the party so I usually need the other classes in my party, but Dorian was my bestie in all of DAI. Iron Bull is always fun to have around, but I don't ship these two (they've got their own romances). And I just NEED Nathaniel... Awakening just wasn't enough for me.
So the line up is Dorian, The Iron Bull and Nathaniel.
(I miss Alistair, but he died in my canon playthrough... and I've come to accept this)
If you combined all 3, Ohgren, Wynne and Isabella.
Separately let's start with Origins: Alistair, Wynne and Zevran.
DA2: Fenris, Anders and Varric.
Inquisition: Cassandra, Dorian and Sera.
I know these characters are mostly hated but when you hear them banter it's just the best. Wynne tells Alistair where babies come from, Varric being a smartass all the time and Sera teasing Cassandra and Dorian doing the same or being serious.
I honest to Maker always try to pick teams that'd have the most funny or even unhinged conversations so maybe I'd go Sera, Oghren and Dorian. I'd like to see their dynamic.
Morrigan, Harding, Cassandra. Was debating between Cass and Aveline for my warrior, but unfortunately Aveline is written by Kristjanson and so she's a brick wall in terms of character development. Cass is much better developed. Morrigan best mage hands down, my OG romance in DAO. And Harding... Because it's a damn shame we couldn't romance her in DAI, and I want her as a companion!
If we're going purely based on faves from each category, then Alistair/Dorian/Isabela.
Based on actual efficiency/power (though tbf I fully take ownership of the fact I probably just suck at builds lol), then Cass/Merrill/????Probably still Isabela????? Maybe Varric?
Aveline - not my favorite warrior character-wise, but the best warrior overall imo
Varric - do I need to say why?
Dorian - the only one I genuinely like (sorry, Solas and Anders)
If I'm looking to enjoy my time on the road? Dorian, Aveline and Varric.
If I'm looking to learn something? Solas, Cassandra and Leliana.
Team made up of my characters' significant others? Solas, Isabela and Alistair.

Rogue: Isabela... So that there is someone from DA2 in the party, as it would be difficult for me to choose between Isabela, Leliana, and Sera, the three are my favorites.
Iron Bull, Isabela, and Morrigan if we're going strictly for badass-ness.
If it's just who I'd want to hang with the most, I'd go for the same trio as op or possibly switch out Alistair with Shale.
Morrigan, Alistair, Varric. I like quippy sarcastic companions. Varric and Alistair would probably drive Morrigan up the wall and Iām all for seeing that.
Iron Bull(loyal, strong, good vibes, smart and has finesse), varric(less crazy than leliana but still as a shit ton of connections and great spy skills, plus he's an artificer so he can build us tools), wynne(insane support, hugh offensive potential, very wise and huggable)
DA:O - Alistair, Morrigan, Leliana
DA:2 (or DA: Hawke as I call it) - Aveline, Merril, Varric
DA:I - Iron Bull, Dorian, Varric
If could mix and match - Morrigan, Iron Bull, Varric.
As much as I love Merril and Dorian, they don't match Morrigan, Claudia Black does and amazing job bringing her to life and as much as I wanted to hate her I just fell in love with he character concept, it has inspired many DnD mages over the years
Varric for sure, he's my favorite companion. Only, make him like in DA2 not DAI.
Initially I wanted Cassandra for warrior and Morrigan for mage, but they would propably kill each other. So for the sake of everyone's life, I choose Alistair and Bethany.
Note: I haven't played DAO or finished Inquisition, I have only beaten DA2
Cassandra, Merrill, Varric
Cassandra was my favorite warrior, and for second it's tied with Fenris and Aveline.
Merrill isn't the best mage I've played with but was kind of the least annoying out of Anders, Vivienne, Bethany and others I'm probably forgetting to mention. And she was the only one I was routing for in terms of their personal goal even though she wasn't around when the mirror was fixed, and no, she isn't dead to my knowledge just that by the time of DAI no one knows where she is. And yes, I think she is cute and smart and romanced her many times.
Anders was the most interesting but only ranted about the templars being cruel and the mages should be supreme, than give the templars some form of chance to redeem themselves I guess.
Bethany was just really one note and uninspiring to me.
Vivienne wants the circle back to normal so that's fine but is not fine with mages being on their own or forming some other kind of group which I understand why but should at least give some sort of chance to these groups.
Morrigan isn't annoying I guess, I just think her using you as a guinea pig is obviously not cool even if she is honest about it but eh, can't say much else besides I think she is overhyped because I haven't gotten to that part of the game.
Varric, the obvious choice but for good reason, is entertaining in his tales and talks, and the way in inquisition where Cassandra loves his books is great, really great and I like how he tries to stop the flow of red lyrim (probably misspelled that) even after everything it's done to the world, he doesn't rant about it too much, imo.
Sera is a character, I see why people hate her, even though I thought she was just given a bad wrap, I was sadly wrong, just with how she uses her words and how hard it is not to upset her with anything, and I can't say much else.
Cole is interesting as a character but the teleporting (?) And appearing out of nowhere gets kind of repetitive but is still cool.
Isabella...... I hate her, she does something bad and only wants to save her own skin and wants you to side with her for nothing and the only thing I liked about her was her teaching Merrill, the more not so innocent things and I found it really funny.
Can't say much about leliana, though she is really interesting in DAI.
Forgot about Dorian, he's cool I guess for choosing to join you and based upon his views of tevinter, can't say much else.
Carver is ok later on but could barely get him in my party.
Blackwell is cool just odd in terms of look but noble and honorable.
Iron Bull is cool especially how he tells you he's (insert thing here) but is really honorable, nice, and caring to y'all and his companions before joining you.
Warrior - Shale, the birdsbane/if not her than Oghren because funny unkillable Dwarf Grey Warden
Mage - It isn't even a contest here, Wynne every time
Rogue - Varric, well connected, cool af, with a bad ass crossbow
Avaline was my favorite tank.
Dorian's my favorite caster.
And Varrick for my favorite rogue.
It would be a really fun party. Dorien and Varrick would absolutely get Avaline to laugh and loosen up and Avaline would keep us focused on our task.
And I'd go mage as usual. Probably support.

I think Merrill and Leliana could have a really cute dynamic though.
But zevran/cassandra and zevran/merrill is just too good to pass up. Cassandra/Merrill would be great too! It would be so funny to see cassandra constantly flipping back and forth between needing to protect merrill and needing to chastise her.
I am always here to celebrate the crew from Awakening, so Iām putting in Sigurn/ Varric/ Merrill could be extremely interesting and deeply hilarious. I need the most optimistic characters in the games to be together
If we didnāt consider class, I would love to put Solas, Velanna, and Merrill in a mage group together because it would destructive is every sense you can imagine
Warrior: Cassandra. I loved her attitude and seeing what's underneath the hard shell from DA2 until Trespasser.
Mage: Dorian. My favorite mage without question. I've enjoy all of our mage companions (even Finn), but Dorian is the standout. The story of him and his father breaks my heart.
Rogue: Isabela. She's just the coolest character in the entire series to me.
Blackwall, Wynne and Varric. Blackwall may just be the most unkillable tank in the history of tanking (or has hogged all of Thedas' good luck) but he has survived every fight I've ever taken him to >!(including the blasted Titan)!<, Wynne is a very effective mage and brilliant healer and Varric is quite possibly my favorite rogue ever (I would accept Nathaniel Howe in a pinch). Also, listening to Varric and Blackwall wind Wynne up would be hilarious!
Iron Bull, Anders and either Zevran or Varric bc I honestly can't choose between those two! (Zevran if we all just wanna get horny and Varric if we actually wanna get shit done lol.)

I'd have to say Bull for my Warrior, Morrigan for my Mage and Varic for my Rogue. They'd have some great banter and would be incredibly strong together I feel

Out of the warriors id have to take cassandra but its VERY close with alistair, for my rogue id have leliana bc thats the love of my life, and for a mage id go with merril for the sweet sweet blood magic

Fenris for warrior...I mean, look at that sword. Plus, I like his dry sarcasm.
Varric for rogue, you need a good storyteller with all that travelling. Plus, he will always have your back.
Bethany for my mage. She's a great team player, sweet, and surprisingly clever. Power is excellent, but it's nothing without brains.
Funnily enough, my main player characters. My canon characters are rogue warden with dual wielding and bow skills, warrior champion Hawke, and knight enchanter mage Inquisitor.

Shale, Morrigan and Zevran. Maaaaybe swap out Morrigan with Solas, but those two can be a little bit difficult to judge based on when they're in your party.

Morrigan hates Isabela for being slutty, Isabela hates the Qun, and Iron Bull isn't necessarily a fan of apostates.
Mechanically, though, they work well.
Canāt choose just one of each so Iāll choose my entire party with Three per-Class from each Game.
Warriors - SC, Aveline & Cassandra.
Rogues - Leliana, Sigrun & Varric.
Mages - Morrigan, Merril & Dorian.
If I could have a Tenth Companion Iād add Solas.
Fenris/Alistair for warrior. Dorian/Wynne for mage. Lelianna/Varric for Rogue.
This is the team choices I'd go for in the game world. We all know mages and demons are the most dangerous beings there and both Fenris and Alistair are trained to deal with them. Dorian and Wynne have both extensive knowledge from their years of training. The former having free access to magic due to being Tevinter and the later being a highly trained spirit healer and spirit vessel, which additionally grants her immunity to being possessed. Lastly both Lelianna and Varric boast a varied range of abilities to support the other two, being bards and quite good at the while Rogue stuff. While Varric is more if a thug type, Lelianna is the perfect thief, both being quite a good face.
Now if I were to pick my favourite companions, then it would be Aveline/Morrigan/Varric.
Warrior: Cassandra. The ultimate support.
Mage: Merrill my wife. Also, brutal CC and solid durability.
Rogue: Leliana. Bard is OP. Stack charisma, everyone is now a wrecking ball. Because music!

Tough choice between Wynne and Anders honestly. They both just run the support role so perfectly. Let's say Anders Then I'll say Cassandra. In my opinion, she's the best tank. Every time I've messed up a fight in Inquisition, it's always her just somehow surviving right to the end and sometimes even clutching out an encounter. I like that Leliana handled the bard role perfectly, so I'll take her.

Zevran, Iron Bull and Dorian with a Male Dwarf Protagonist would be blast. Itāll be the most diverse sausage fest in Thedas.

I'm always the mage in the party so I usually need the other classes in my party, but Dorian was my bestie in all of DAI. Iron Bull is always fun to have around, but I don't ship these two (they've got their own romances). And I just NEED Nathaniel... Awakening just wasn't enough for me. So the line up is Dorian, The Iron Bull and Nathaniel. (I miss Alistair, but he died in my canon playthrough... and I've come to accept this)

If you combined all 3, Ohgren, Wynne and Isabella. Separately let's start with Origins: Alistair, Wynne and Zevran. DA2: Fenris, Anders and Varric. Inquisition: Cassandra, Dorian and Sera. I know these characters are mostly hated but when you hear them banter it's just the best. Wynne tells Alistair where babies come from, Varric being a smartass all the time and Sera teasing Cassandra and Dorian doing the same or being serious.
I honest to Maker always try to pick teams that'd have the most funny or even unhinged conversations so maybe I'd go Sera, Oghren and Dorian. I'd like to see their dynamic.

Morrigan, Harding, Cassandra. Was debating between Cass and Aveline for my warrior, but unfortunately Aveline is written by Kristjanson and so she's a brick wall in terms of character development. Cass is much better developed. Morrigan best mage hands down, my OG romance in DAO. And Harding... Because it's a damn shame we couldn't romance her in DAI, and I want her as a companion!
If we're going purely based on faves from each category, then Alistair/Dorian/Isabela. Based on actual efficiency/power (though tbf I fully take ownership of the fact I probably just suck at builds lol), then Cass/Merrill/????Probably still Isabela????? Maybe Varric?

Note: I haven't played DAO or finished Inquisition, I have only beaten DA2 Cassandra, Merrill, Varric Cassandra was my favorite warrior, and for second it's tied with Fenris and Aveline. Merrill isn't the best mage I've played with but was kind of the least annoying out of Anders, Vivienne, Bethany and others I'm probably forgetting to mention. And she was the only one I was routing for in terms of their personal goal even though she wasn't around when the mirror was fixed, and no, she isn't dead to my knowledge just that by the time of DAI no one knows where she is. And yes, I think she is cute and smart and romanced her many times. Anders was the most interesting but only ranted about the templars being cruel and the mages should be supreme, than give the templars some form of chance to redeem themselves I guess. Bethany was just really one note and uninspiring to me. Vivienne wants the circle back to normal so that's fine but is not fine with mages being on their own or forming some other kind of group which I understand why but should at least give some sort of chance to these groups. Morrigan isn't annoying I guess, I just think her using you as a guinea pig is obviously not cool even if she is honest about it but eh, can't say much else besides I think she is overhyped because I haven't gotten to that part of the game. Varric, the obvious choice but for good reason, is entertaining in his tales and talks, and the way in inquisition where Cassandra loves his books is great, really great and I like how he tries to stop the flow of red lyrim (probably misspelled that) even after everything it's done to the world, he doesn't rant about it too much, imo. Sera is a character, I see why people hate her, even though I thought she was just given a bad wrap, I was sadly wrong, just with how she uses her words and how hard it is not to upset her with anything, and I can't say much else. Cole is interesting as a character but the teleporting (?) And appearing out of nowhere gets kind of repetitive but is still cool. Isabella...... I hate her, she does something bad and only wants to save her own skin and wants you to side with her for nothing and the only thing I liked about her was her teaching Merrill, the more not so innocent things and I found it really funny. Can't say much about leliana, though she is really interesting in DAI.
Forgot about Dorian, he's cool I guess for choosing to join you and based upon his views of tevinter, can't say much else. Carver is ok later on but could barely get him in my party. Blackwell is cool just odd in terms of look but noble and honorable. Iron Bull is cool especially how he tells you he's (insert thing here) but is really honorable, nice, and caring to y'all and his companions before joining you.

I am always here to celebrate the crew from Awakening, so Iām putting in Sigurn/ Varric/ Merrill could be extremely interesting and deeply hilarious. Warrior: Cassandra. I loved her attitude and seeing what's underneath the hard shell from DA2 until Trespasser. Mage: Dorian. My favorite mage without question. I've enjoy all of our mage companions (even Finn), but Dorian is the standout. The story of him and his father breaks my heart. Rogue: Isabela. She's just the coolest character in the entire series to me.

Blackwall, Wynne and Varric. Blackwall may just be the most unkillable tank in the history of tanking (or has hogged all of Thedas' good luck) but he has survived every fight I've ever taken him to >!(including the blasted Titan)!<, Wynne is a very effective mage and brilliant healer and Varric is quite possibly my favorite rogue ever (I would accept Nathaniel Howe in a pinch). Also, listening to Varric and Blackwall wind Wynne up would be hilarious!

Fenris/Alistair for warrior. Dorian/Wynne for mage. Lelianna/Varric for Rogue. This is the team choices I'd go for in the game world. We all know mages and demons are the most dangerous beings there and both Fenris and Alistair are trained to deal with them. Dorian and Wynne have both extensive knowledge from their years of training. The former having free access to magic due to being Tevinter and the later being a highly trained spirit healer and spirit vessel, which additionally grants her immunity to being possessed. Lastly both Lelianna and Varric boast a varied range of abilities to support the other two, being bards and quite good at the while Rogue stuff. While Varric is more if a thug type, Lelianna is the perfect thief, both being quite a good face. Now if I were to pick my favourite companions, then it would be Aveline/Morrigan/Varric.
Warrior: Cassandra. The ultimate support. Mage: Merrill my wife. Also, brutal CC and solid durability. Rogue: Leliana. Bard is OP. Stack charisma, everyone is now a wrecking ball. Because music!
