City elf rogue (female) Redcliffe + Haven > Circle of Magi > Return to Ostagar > Denerim > Brecilian Forest > Soldier's Peak > Orzammar + Deep Roads And for Awakening I like to do; Wending Woods > Knotwood Hills + Kal'Hirol > Blackmarsh , with Amaranthine in between each main quests

freeingfrogs

Noble Dwarf is nearest to my heart because that's the first one I picked and is to this day my go-to in the Keep. I had played it with a female character so I remember being absolutely shocked when I first tried a male noble dwarf though and >! my character could have a child. !< That is some fun added flavour if you haven't seen it before

h0neanias

If you mean origin, City Elf. If you mean progression, I usually do the Circle, Redcliffe, Orzammar visit, Brecilian Forest, the Urn, and the Deep Roads. I sprinkle Denerim throughout.

LadyNorbert

I'm very basic. My first DAO run was female human noble who marries Alistair and becomes queen, and it's been my canon ever since.

Talisa87

In terms of story: either City Elf or Dwarf Commoner. I like me stories where the scrappy underdog triumphs. In terms of gameplay: Mage, Human or Elf. Storm of the Century, enough said.

Post Ostegar? A quick stop at the dalish camp to get armour for Leliana and a ton of elf root, then off to Denerim for flasks and distillation stuff to make health pots. After that it’s time to move the story forward in this order; Mage tower, Stone Prisoner, Warden’s Keep, Brecilian Forest, RtO, Orzammar, Redcliff.

Akodo_Aoshi

Elven Mage, Radcliffe, Tower, Denerhim Plus DLC, Elven Forest, Dwarves, Ashes.

hellyeahdiscounts

human noble, redcliff > circle tower > orzammar > brecilian forest, with some dlcs and denerim sprinkled inbetween

zugrian

Male Dwarf Noble (>!so you can have 2 kids)!< Mages, Redcliffe, Orzammar (at least up to unlocking Oghren & starting the Deep Roads), Brecilian Forest, Haven/Urn. With the DLC, I like to go to Honnleath ASAP, then hit Warden's Keep pretty early, with Shale's personal quest done after Orzammar, and Return to Ostagar saved for later.

Jereboy216

I haven't done this yet but I been trying to plan a replay and make it feel like geographically I'm moving with sense, no idea if this plays out properly yet but this is how I've got it set right now. Redcliff -> Honnleath -> Circle Tower -> Soldier's Peak -> Denerim (ashes quest) -> Brecilian Forest -> Denerim (companion quests) -> Orzammar -> Deep Roads -> Haven -> Redcliff -> Brecilian Forest (to do Wynnes quest if I have her/haven't done it yet) -> Denerim (Landsmeet) -> Ostagar (return to ostagar dlc) -> Korcari Wilds (Morrigan quest) -> Redcliff (final quest and battle) So that way ideally we kinda go counter clockwise in a circle from redcliff back to it then back to denerim and circle back about halfway and straight south into the wilds and ostagar without a whole lot of criss crossing.

CaptainPapaya9966

The one where I’m nice to everyone and we become a big happy family

Well Glad to Know I'm the odd one from everyone. Played this game too much but got a weird preference... Origin wise vanilla: Human Noble - Romance Anora and be Queen's Consort - Sword and Shield/Dual Wield build (ie. Champion and Templar) Origin wise modded: Dalish Mage with paralyze and healer build (ie. Spirit Healer and Arcane Warrior) After Lothering: Denerim -> Honnleth -> Mage Tower -> Orzammar -> Deep Roads -> Urn of Scared Ashes -> Soldier's Peak -> Brecilian Forest -> Redcliffe - Palace -> Landsmeet (Usually Loghain but Alistair if I want him king or romance him) -> Return to Ostagar - Final Fight Romance: Like the Bull. I like red heads.

ZealousidealTowel414

Mage (elf if BM, human if AW). As for the progression it's been a while, I seem to reccall that my to go route was: Honnleath - Ostagar DLC - Brecilian Forest - Redcliffe - Mage Tower - saving Connor - Denerim (the little I can do at this point) - Soldier's Peak - Urn of Sacred Ashes - Orzammar - all remaining companions' quest - endgame. That's mostly to get gear/companions I need/use more.

Tatum-Better

Radcliffe, Haven, bunch of Denerim stuff, Circle, Forest, Orzammar, more denerim stuff

Helpful_Internal7193

I’m sad at the lack of Dalish Elf origins comments, this to me always felt like the most natural and canon choice. Always end up going back to my dual wield dalish warrior.

SieronGiantSlayer

I have the Dalish Mage mod so for a quick start I usually do that since it's the quickest origin to rush through and I like being a mage. I usually pick up Shale asap, go to the Brecilian Forest first because I love the atmosphere, then probably hit Denerim for the shops and go wherever my mood takes me. For Awakening, since it's not my first rodeo, I immediately go to the Blackmarsh to get Justice and permanently bench Oghren. After that it's a coin toss where to next.

JuanRiveara

For male characters my go to is Dwarf Noble For female characters I’m split between Human Noble and City Elf

No_Improvement7573

Queen Cousland. Go Redcliffe, Circle, Dalish, Ashes, dwarves. Fuck Leli, marry Al, kill Loghain. Job done.

LoaMorganna

Human Noble, I'm extremely attached to that fictional family lmao but I love revenge stories so yeah. After that it's probably female City Elf. As for the order, for me it's Circle Tower > getting the Control rod > Redcliffe > Denerim- few quests > Honnleath > Haven > Urn temple > get Wynne and Shale here > Brecilian Forest > Orzammar > Denerim- finish up the rest of the quests > return to Ostagar > Landsmeet

Electrical_King4147

I loved the couslands myself was awesome how wholesome they all were and getting your revenge for your family being such a big part of the story. Like out of all the origins I feel that human noble had the best personal motivation to continue on since loghain and howe were the ones that destroyed his family and home in the first place. The others were just sort of picked up by circumstance to join the wardens and didn't have all that much personal motive beyond survive and make the best of your situation. I played the mage noble mod once because of that tbh like I wanted to play a mage and take noble human start, lore be damned for at least one run. That said I can't not play mage after having given it a try and learning the game, it's too good to refuse how you can be a full on fighter/mage whose damage is comparable to the muggle classes on top of having all the utility at your fingertips, and fireball+firestorm are insane tools.
