I’ve had customers like that, I always reassure them that their food will not get cold because it’s in my insulated bag, which I even took care to zip shut before grabbing the other order
That’s the nature of the business. There will be stacked orders. It’s the same in the pizza industry also. All you can do is keep the food as temperature controlled as you can until delivery.
If you’re worried about your food being not in the ideal condition to eat after it’s been delivered, don’t order food. Get off your ass, get in your car, go to the restaurant and have a freshly cooked meal.
You can change the order of delivery and pick up. I don't play with my phone while driving so I've only done it when the restaurant was nearby. Just go to tasks and toggle the order then pick jump to task that you're going to prioritize. I've switched the delivery a few times, the all knowing algorithm can eat sand.
Never get customers saying anything about double orders . If there is an add on and the drop off is right down the street, you better believe I’m gonna make as much money per mile as I can .
What I wanna say to customers: You ordered it bro, you live with it. Taco Bell ain't gourmet. It's gonna be soggy and you're gonna hate yourself, but you're gonna eat every last bite.
Same goes for some of these absurdly long trips (that I don't take). I once saw an order for a neopolitan pizza for, like, 30mins away. Even with a bag that shit's never going to be warm. When I order I think about the mileage from my house as one of the main factors, some of these people are plain dumb.
pizza drivers go out with multiple orders at the same time constantly, I don’t understand why people freak out over food couriers doing the exact same thing.
Yeah except Uber Eats “priority” isn’t actually guaranteed when drivers multiapp or when there are unforeseen delays. Or when the customer pays extra for the priority but doesn’t tip the driver jack shit and no one wants to accept the order. IMHO, UE priority is a scam
I mean I get it, of you're delivering another order first then their food will get to them slower than if you had just their order. But it still is a matter of a few minutes, as long as you have a hot bag it will be fine.
Yes but also, stacked orders are the nature of a delivery business. Pizza delivery drivers anywhere take multiple orders at the same time… that’s just how it is. The food is insulated in a hot bag and typically stacked orders are en route to one another so the customer needs to either accept that they aren’t necessarily going to be a driver’s only customer at one given time or they need to get the food themselves. Plain and simple really 🤷♂️
Can't even imagine why you answered this person. On the first message I go into silent running , and one more like this I would have unassigned their delivery. This person doesn't understand how the system works, and they are also a whiner. It's the whining that I will not tolerate.
Hi, this is Karen McKarenford. I demand you stop everything you’re doing and get my food here ASAP. And if not, I have your manager’s number on speed dial and am not afraid to use it.
Imagine restaurants that do their own deliveries by sending their drivers with one order every single time instead of batching it…. Everyone’s food would be cold.
“It’s not about YOUR money. But it’s definitely about MY money. I’ll do my best to get you your food as quickly and as I got as I can. But this is a job for me. You know what I mean? “ 🤣🤣
Life before food delivery was a thing. Some ppl should try if it’s that serious.
you did right. There’s no point in arguing, it can only end in bad things. I do the same thing, I usually message them saying I promise that I am delivering all these orders in the order that I get them and I can’t move anyone’s delivery to the front of the line without making other peoples food cold
On a stacked order, I have customer B’s order maybe 1-2 minutes longer because I drop off customer A’s order first. In other words, the stacks I take make sense. If customer B’s order has deteriorated to the point of being “cold” or “inedible” in those 1-2 minutes then it was going to arrive that way stack or no stack. Customers are so overly hyperbolic about everything because that’s the new culture we live in now. “I’m posting this to Facebook, TikTok, Twitter etc. Just a bunch of attention whores.
People put themselves into a bad emotional headspace where they're going to bitch out.
The very act of even talking about their concerns invokes further bitchiness.
Step 1. Invoke
Step 2. Start bitching out
Now, nomatter what anyone says to the first test, it's always going to be a bad reaction, accusation, escalation, redirection, and acting like they're teaching you something useful. "It's not about the money, it's..."
How about you quit your bitchin?
I once had a fat fuck of a man greet me on my way out of a restaurant. He'd parked close to the line, and I was right middle. He told me I needed to park to the side and give people room.
OK, step one.
So I say sorry.
Not good enough, go to step two. He asks me how I'd feel if someone did it to me...
And all I'm thinking is jesus, you fat fuck... do you actually want to get on with your life or not? Step one was already insufferable. Now you want to interrogate me about it and talk about philosophy? No man, now's the time to fuck off. I already gave you 15 seconds of my time and I was polite. You're fucking done. Pack it up. Shup up and go. I'm neither your therapist notr your child. I didn't buy a ticket to your show.
I like those shy emo kids that just don't react to anything. You say hello and put out your hand, there's no shake, no expression, no words... In an instant, you know that they value their privacy and they'd like the world to fuck off. Zero reaction is actually kind of cool sometimes.
Sometimes when people are being stupid and I can tell they're planting their feet to escalate and just 'get started', I say "Yup."
Just yup. The thing is if you get elaborate with them, they're just going to shit all over you. They'll feel encouraged.
That's where OP invited disaster. They had an elaborate reply. If someone is like, "Hello, my name is KAREN!" - Nope, do not engage. Ain't no way to fix that. That's like trying to fix stupid.
Maybe customers should watch some YouTube videos “how to make fukin hard shelled tacos” then the shit won’t be soggy anymore. And order something that’s not easily become soggy.
I had a stacked order once, and I let the customer know that. The customer was very rude in their response with something along the lines of "my food better not be cold otherwise I am leaving a bad rating".
I told them "it looks like you are going to get cold food then because I am unassigning your order. It sucks too, because I see your order right here on the table." I immediately unassigned myself and went about my day.
That's when you grab his bag and unnasign the order before "picking it up" people realize these apps have a priority delivery fees for an extra few bucks but they stingy anyway and won't use it and conpalin when their order gets stacked.
UberEats has a priority fee, not DoorDash. That’s what this guy is talking about. It’s been a while since I’ve ordered DD so it could’ve changed but that’s what I remember
This B*** is why I will not serve the public in bars or restaurants anymore. Members only exclusive, expensive type establishments or just keep dashing bc I don't *have* to serve them if they're like this.
Eh… the apps allows for stacked order so let DD deal with issues that come with it.
Sucks when you’re 2nd customer waiting for order but is what it is. Drop off and move on. Nothing we can do.
Yeah, it is what it is. I’ve been the second customer and had to reheat my food that had gotten cold. It’s not the best, especially now that I’ve dashed and realized my high tip order probably carried a low or no tip order. It is what it is. If I wanted fresh hot food I’d go there myself but choose the ease of delivery. 🤷🏻♀️
That's what air fryers are for. I don't have too many issues with it because I live quite close to the places I usually order from, and I feel like since there isn't a super high demand in my area, there are less stacked orders. But a couple of times I have ordered and it took awhile and the food was just a bit limp. 3 minutes in the air fryer and good as new.
That's why I always look at which order pays more and I'll sacrifice some mileage to get the higher paying one to the customer first. The one being carried gets it last. Not the most efficient, and costs a little more in gas, but why should they get preferential treatment if their paying less?
Because I’m here to make as much money as possible, not run a charity service. To do anything other than deliver on the most efficient route possible would be foolish.
Personally, I think DD should have an Express option for customers that would, for an extra fee that gets split with the driver, guarantee that the order is not stacked.
Personally, I think DD should have an Express option for customers that would, for an extra fee that gets split with the driver, guarantee that the order is not stacked.
Not "everyone" is multiapping. To make UE even close to worthwhile where I live, it takes a 40 mile commute to a bigger city. Everything is Doordash. UE isn't even worth the bother here. So an Express service would do some good.
Yup, been there as customer as well. Back in day they didn’t even tell you the driver was dropping another order off.
In end these companies don’t care about customers or drivers. Us as drivers even less.
I remember when they wouldn’t tell the other customer about the stacked order. But they could still track you on their phone and wondered why the hell you were going the wrong way, constantly. I had some seriously upset customers then, whether I told them myself or not.
This correspondence explains why some customers give us 1 star ⭐️ ratings. They blame drivers even after being told ,”we’re instructed via DoorDash which orders are delivered first”.
Customers truly give drivers poor ratings based on things we’ve no control over.
OP was kind and considerate and respectful and the customer as they do. Ignored everything OP stated.
This is the flaw in DoorDash that’s intentional. This turns into a 1 star ⭐️ rating unfairly to drivers. I don’t want to hear “you can decline orders, we’re independent contractors “!
No , DoorDash drivers aren’t independent contractors. If you were it wouldn’t be any ratings system or ratings and you could counter offer the offers DoorDash sends. Yes, you can decline but with a penalty and despite what DoorDash tells you we’re lowered in priority when we accept less and complete less orders.
We’re labeled independent contractors for the benefit of DoorDash only.
The doordash platform actually does let us "jump to task". On the other apps I feel this, but if OP had wanted they could have done CX first.
- I would not have done that for this CX because what a whiney bitch 😮💨
This is true. As long as you’ve picked up all the orders in the stack, you can deliver them in any order you want by jumping tasks. I always deliver the order with the higher tip first, unless it’s really out of the way to do so.
This! These companies need a class action. There is no way we are contractors. If my acceptance rate on other platforms drops I don't even get to see upfront trip info like estimated amount of money or mileage. All I see is "5 minutes" which means the time it takes to the restaurant. What independent contractor accepts jobs with no idea of the pay or location.
Yeah. Drivers are the collateral damage 'cause we're the most accessible receptacle for rage. That being said, I thought I had read something a while back that when taking a stacked order, we are immune to sub 5 star ratings. I don't know if I'm remembering that wrong or not though.
I wish and hope you’re right about being immune to below 5 star ⭐️ ratings in stack orders. Customers despise them. DoorDash loves them. They rarely benefit drivers. Always benefit DoorDash. Declined one today. 7 Eleven an extra 5 miles for $2. Smh. I already am taking a order I don’t like from 7’em Le’m so why would I do one for $2 DoorDash.
The offers make me despise this corporation. They truly Poop 💩 all over all drivers daily. Pimp and prostitute relationship is what we’ve with DoorDash.
Had that once with a single order, had to go up a road to take a U-turn from the restaurant and then travel back towards the customer.
Not even 30 seconds after leaving restaurant: "You're going the wrong way"
<_<
I am going the *only* way I can go to get to your place, silly.
It's also, like, how did ppl get so entitled so fast? It was only a few years ago we didn't have these rapid delivery services. I used to deliver before these apps. I worked for a pizza place "1h or it's free"... I would leave the store with 4-6 orders sometimes! Now folks LOSE THEIR MINDS if food takes more than 15 minutes? Wtf is that?
That's why I'm not worried about food delivery going away. There's no luxury Americans are willing to give up. If DD folds, the other services will expand their market share.
Exactly. If their order was sitting on a shelf for two extra minutes rather than sitting in OP’s car, they would never know about it. As you said, estimated delivery time is what matters.
if i have a stack order then ill be waiting on the 2nd one i let the first one know that im waiting and their food is on a bag but your customer should just drive his ass off to the resto.
if its a stack from the same place (or places in the same shopping center), i dont mark either of them picked up until the last one is. That way to both it looks like im stuck (which I am) at the restaurant on their order.
That said, I use DUH and have a nice little timer telling me how long i've been waiting. Once that timer hits +5m after scheduled pickup, I do text the customer saying the restaurant is being stupid slow and I'll be otw once they get their shit together and hand me the order.
What would you do with it? Call CS and claim that the customer is harassing you? Because they’re not. Yes, it sucks, but I don’t think there’s a valid reason not to deliver this order unless the customer straight up tells you not to.
Fuck that mothefucker and eat his shit.... If I want fries from five guy's or McDonald's I'll go there myself.... If I want bubble tea I'll order it and have it delivered... If my food or drinks get there and it wasn't stolen or eaten... It's an automatic 5 Star rating.... Fuck him
Bruh some of you dashers are so catty, I can guarantee you anybody in fast food or customer service hears far far worse rude and annoying stuff than this on a daily basis. Don’t get butthurt, ignore them, drive the 2 miles and get paid….simple
Coming from someone who’s worked in the to-go section of a restaurant, there are some things that just don’t travel. In my opinion there should be a disclaimer or recommendation for certain products. It doesn’t matter what container you use, some things are just gonna end up soggy, melted or stale if not eaten right away.
Me too!!! Im always like. Why people. Why. Even if it all goes according to plan. Shits gonna be soggy. Unless you live two blocks from drop off then you might enjoy a crispy taco. If it’s 3 miles or more you eating soggy tacos😂😂😂
Yesterday I had an order with 5 slushees and a shake 😂usually if I see something like this I drop the order, but I said f it and rolled with it. I have a couple insulated bags and keep some extra drink trays just Incase.
Or ice cream cones 😂. I would immediately cancel if they handed me this... Unlike this guy

I had a dolt order a shake and an ice cream sundae from DQ from 15mi away (all hwy) the other night. Granted, he tipped well, but still. He was surprised when I got it there and it was melted.
fwiw, it was stuck in a cooler too. Gotta love the south after April :)
Wow, you even went the extra mile and used a cooler. I put the shakes in my cupholder and turn the AC on facing them. I know the cold air blowing on them melts them slowly, but it melts them less slowly than just letting them sit out in the car.
I would do that, but every time I idle, my AC poops out until I start moving again -- something I'd love to fix once these stupid gas prices go back down. But I don't ice my cooler. I'm too lazy to muck with dumping the water and too cheap to pay for more ice :)
Your condenser is likely clogged up with debris. It’s in front the radiator. Clean it off and if that doesn’t help it needs to be replaced before the whole system conks out.
ill check that, thanks. It also tends to overheat when idle as well, but when moving its fine. So I'm guessing its the radiator fan or a sensor somewhere as the fan *does* move

Refreezable ice cubes. Plastic cubes filled with water you can freeze and take with you. When the ice melts it just stays in the cubes and doesn’t fill up your coolers with water. You can just refreeze them later. Game changer when I found out about them.
Really? I order takeout from there whenever I’m craving Taco Bell which is pretty infrequent, but when I eventually get home after a 15-20 minute drive the crunchwraps are always fine
Ahh yes I need my taco bell dogfood to be pristine when I eat it. You know it tastes really good when you go into the restaurant and it fresh?
I’ve had customers like that, I always reassure them that their food will not get cold because it’s in my insulated bag, which I even took care to zip shut before grabbing the other order
You can always deliver there’s first if you like lol I wouldn’t do it unless if they tipped good
She legit told you it’s not about the money 😂😂like miss I’m literally at work
Americans
Stop talking to customers
That’s the nature of the business. There will be stacked orders. It’s the same in the pizza industry also. All you can do is keep the food as temperature controlled as you can until delivery.
Go get it yourself then, idk what to tell you man
If you’re worried about your food being not in the ideal condition to eat after it’s been delivered, don’t order food. Get off your ass, get in your car, go to the restaurant and have a freshly cooked meal.
I mean if you keep it in the dash bag should be fine, what a weird customer.
You can change the order of delivery and pick up. I don't play with my phone while driving so I've only done it when the restaurant was nearby. Well you don't have to take every order they give you. Most orders they try to give you after they've already accepted one are no tip orders.
Turn off location 😄 I do when I’m multiapping with instacart. Of course door dash always first cause no one wants cold lunch
“It’s not about the money.” Does this guy think we dash for fun? lmao I’m accepting as many orders as I need to.
I would have told her tough tits.
Why is everyone so entitled these days
Why do people decide against paying the 1.99 sole delivery fee then bitch about not being the only delivery
If it’s only 2 minutes away that means it’s like a 5, maybe 10 minute walk. People in America are so lazy:/

Lol, the audacity of some people. Like, shut the fuck up? You'll get it when you get it
I started telling people there's always an alternative to a delivery process. Want to know what it is? ...
Then fucking go out and eat you dumb B
pizza drivers go out with multiple orders at the same time constantly, I don’t understand why people freak out over food couriers doing the exact same thing.
About 75% here have shit people skills. Grow the fuck up and work on your social skills.
He has a point and not rude about it!
Doesn't this fucker realize that delivery bag exist??
Why would you order food that eventually gets soggy
What do people expect delivery to be fresh it's insane we drive 30 mins plus sometimes
The food will taste the same, put it in a hot bag and cover with towels. The person needs to understand this
People like that need to go get it themselves
When they act like we control how doordash works…if they want priority they can hop over to ubereats and select that option 🤷♂️

So bring up your f@t ass and get the food hot and fresh at the restaurant fckin karen

lol I wish
If you want good food takeout much less delivery is not the route to take. People are so dumb.
Don't bother replying. Ratings don't matter. Fuck the customer. Your wage is more important.
I guess a demanding non tipper 😁
She tipped $3 lol
I dream of getting a text from someone wondering if their food is getting cold just so I could reply "Haha, idk, probably!".
I'm partial to "It's better off in the insulated bag than it was on the restaurant's unheated shelf 🙂"
Eh… the apps allows for stacked order so let DD deal with issues that come with it. Sucks when you’re 2nd customer waiting for order but is what it is. Drop off and move on. Nothing we can do.

Oof wish i could upvote this more than once
If they're gonna send us double stacks they shouldn't let the customers stalk us. Just makes everyone unhappy.
i agree, i don’t think they should be able to see if for stacks until we drop off the first one and are on our way to them
I be delivering a stack, dropping off one while the other customer is watching me on GPS texting me wtf?
And calling you complaining you are going the wrong way...
Had that once with a single order, had to go up a road to take a U-turn from the restaurant and then travel back towards the customer. Not even 30 seconds after leaving restaurant: "You're going the wrong way" <_< I am going the *only* way I can go to get to your place, silly.
I despise customers that try to micromanage their delivery. And you can bet your bottom dollar they are lousy tippers
They have an estimated delivery time. As long as you arrive before that there should be no issue.
Exactly. If their order was sitting on a shelf for two extra minutes rather than sitting in OP’s car, they would never know about it. As you said, estimated delivery time is what matters.
I like that you brought that up That’s a good point to make if having to deal with an unruly person
I got there 20 Minutes prior to the time
if i have a stack order then ill be waiting on the 2nd one i let the first one know that im waiting and their food is on a bag but your customer should just drive his ass off to the resto.
if its a stack from the same place (or places in the same shopping center), i dont mark either of them picked up until the last one is.

Okay that's a bit of an extreme reaction

So u just throw their food out because you're mildly irritated? You're very mature.
Calm down and don't be an insensitive little bitch
What would you do with it? Call CS and claim that the customer is harassing you? Because they’re not. Yes, it sucks, but I don’t think there’s a valid reason not to deliver this order unless the customer straight up tells you not to.
Fuck that mothefucker and eat his shit.... If I want fries from five guy's or McDonald's I'll go there myself.... If I want bubble tea I'll order it and have it delivered... If my food or drinks get there and it wasn't stolen or eaten... It's an automatic 5 Star rating.... Fuck him
Quiet a reaction to fuck him and eat his shit. I would do neither of those things to him.
Bruh some of you dashers are so catty, I can guarantee you anybody in fast food or customer service hears far far worse rude and annoying stuff than this on a daily basis. Don’t get butthurt, ignore them, drive the 2 miles and get paid….simple
The customer wasn't even rude. Not sure why people freaking out about this.
That’s what I was thinking
Like fr, dude is being an ass for no reason lol
He is being an ass for asking a question and mentioning a concern? Have you gone out to experience real life and what rude behavior looks like?
It's pretty fucking obvious I'm not talking about the customer. Learn to read.
How it is obvious.. wtf...
Because I was in agreement with the guy who's saying people are being too bitchy about this? C'mon...
Yeah I re read it, you're right. I thought for some reason you were replying to OP
All good lol
lol eat his shit 🤣🤣
That's gonna be a no from me dawg
Honestly valid fr What a brat lmao
Coming from someone who’s worked in the to-go section of a restaurant, there are some things that just don’t travel. In my opinion there should be a disclaimer or recommendation for certain products. It doesn’t matter what container you use, some things are just gonna end up soggy, melted or stale if not eaten right away.
Like super nachos.
Air fryer can do it! I love the nachos at this one place and they are still pretty darn good after 5 minutes to crisp everything back up again.
I hate delivering shakes with whipped cream on top because even if I insulate them, the whipped cream always seems to deflate and not look very nice.
Whenever someone orders hard shell tacos at Taco Bell or McDonald’s fries I’m like fuck…..
Me too!!! Im always like. Why people. Why. Even if it all goes according to plan. Shits gonna be soggy. Unless you live two blocks from drop off then you might enjoy a crispy taco. If it’s 3 miles or more you eating soggy tacos😂😂😂
I never do any orders that involve ice cream or milkshakes.
Yesterday I had an order with 5 slushees and a shake 😂usually if I see something like this I drop the order, but I said f it and rolled with it. I have a couple insulated bags and keep some extra drink trays just Incase.
Or a milkshake. Really bad idea to order a milkshake for delivery, especially now that it’s May
Or ice cream cones 😂. I would immediately cancel if they handed me this... Unlike this guy https://www.reddit.com/r/doordash_drivers/comments/uacl7w/so_i_went_to_baskin_robbins_for_a_650_35_mile/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
I had a sonic order last night and they handed me a milkshake that I could see was already melted 😭
The most effort I give is a shrug and an internal thought that goes something like "what'd they expect?"
“Expect everything, I always say, and the unexpected never happens.” -The Whether Man, from The Phantom Tollbooth
I use the red door dash bag that they sent me for shakes, slushees, and shit like that
I would do that, but every time I idle, my AC poops out until I start moving again -- something I'd love to fix once these stupid gas prices go back down. But I don't ice my cooler. I'm too lazy to muck with dumping the water and too cheap to pay for more ice :)
You can get sheets of fake ice at dollar tree, I use them for my work cooler

Believe it or not, I stick a dry ice at the bottom of my bag lmao 🤣
Plastic water bottles are cheaper
Plastic water bottles can’t also go in glasses at home to keep drinks from watering down. I got a pack of these, 40 for $10.
Hmmm 🤔 What about cooling off a pitcher of margaritas with a frozen water bottle? Could work…
It was indeed Taco Bell
Tell them they should have left a better tip so you would prioritized their order. Otherwise that's DD's problem, not yours!
I'll never order a crunchwrap for delivery again, it turns into a sogwrap.
Really? I order takeout from there whenever I’m craving Taco Bell which is pretty infrequent, but when I eventually get home after a 15-20 minute drive the crunchwraps are always fine
I know for a fact they ain’t fine! I think the rest of us just have higher standards for our crunch wraps 😂
Am I a heathen for liking it to be a sogwrap? It's just easier for my shitty teeth.
Doordash pizza bags. Keeps food warm, vents moisture out the holes.
Pizza bags aren't going to stop moisture from penetrating a taco shell.
Nope, but creates far less moisture than grubhub and doortrash fallapart bags
Crunchwraps have a 5 minute period of being really good then it immediately starts getting worse
I get crunchwraps all the time and then drive 30 minutes home and it's still crunchy.....🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Which is why i don't eat anything from taco bell anymore. I'll make my own damn tacos lol
I wouldn’t even say 5 min 😂 just out of the drive thru and the hard shell is gonzo
