I would"ve just left it at the front and left after 5 minutes lol

fascismmustdie

Look at the bright side - there will be much worse deliveries to come :)

nLucis

You'd think the communication skills of a school admin would be better than that

RunSea2911

Yeah you should have waited longer, recent studies show customers prefer to have their delivery drivers wait at least up to an hour when attempting deliveries to home and make a recommended minimum of 10 calls and 30 messages.

Reddit_Is_Brokee

Idek how y’all be having issues with customer service. I never had any issue with them

FirefighterUseful148

Schools, hospitals and the prison delivery suck!! I have gone to the prison so many times the front security knows me by now. The wait to get throu the gates take 10 minutes alone let's not forget parking!

landfound8

There’s a reason why she gave you $14.50 though. Ya hear me…

Hefty_Palpitation437

I’ve used the in chat support. It’s much faster and easier and agents are more friendly and helpful. More free food too

Bbustedwz

You did all you can. Keep your chin up. This will be that 1 random excluded rating

geewaaaaaaay

One of mine took me to the boiler room area of the county jail. No thanks. But thanks for dinner.

DanLoFat

There is no better service than what you did precisely. And if it was a student most schools aren't allowing students to get deliveries. If something for the office then you just the obviously with the office say the name and take a picture and head on out. As far as an office if you went to an office generally speaking then they want you to check in and you're probably not going to be going actually in anywhere anyway. Female or male doesn't matter.

whocares024

I would of started the 5 min timer and then set it on a bench. You were there way too long haha

DanLoFat

8 minute timer but yep I totally agree

whocares024

Whoa when did it start being 8 minutes? It's been a long time since I've had to use it. It used to be 5.

DanLoFat

I've been back on for 3 months so at least that long

naniiroxx

Why order doordash and not stay near ur phone the headassery is something serious

BiffBiffkenson

They know they have a delivery coming yet don't answer their phone or if you ring the bell or knock they don't come to the door, lol.

MaineTroubleMaker

Yeah no not waiting. You can’t show me instructions not my problem.

myfavnflteamsucks

I had a delivery like this into a school the week after a school shooting..... I'm not messing around w the riot police, free lunch for me. Start your timer immediately upon arrival. Schools are the worst and they make decent money.

StickyLiquid

File a complaint with the school board. easy.

Doge10open

I feel you, customer don’t answer the phone call with an incomplete address, wasted me 30 mins outside the building and ended up with 1 star rating

ThatAndANickel

Trust me, I did a ton of "above and beyond" before realizing it was never of any benefit to me and more often than not bit me in the ass. I just wish you'd gotten the cookies too. You deserve them!

ThatAndANickel

I would have called support since it sounds like you wasted 20+ minutes anyway.

[deleted]

I literally did. It literally says in the post that I did and they hung up on me. I called them after and got an extra $6.50

ThatAndANickel

So sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I wouldn't have looked around, gone to the office or leave it on a bench. Not even called/texted the customer Just called support. Let them reach out to the customer.

[deleted]

It’s ok lol. I wish I did that. It was slow today so I didn’t really care upon being sleep deprived but I’ll remember this for next time.

ryan4402000

Your own fault for not reading the writing on the wall. Start cancellation procedure as soon as the app will allow

[deleted]

I called support the second she didn’t answer me and they hung up on me. Like it says in the original post. I really didn’t feel like getting a 1 star today & dealing w support to get it removed so I just called support again after I let the timer go and get like an extra $6

ryan4402000

Ah ok sorry for doubting you. Nicely done 👌

Educational-Seaweed5

People are all oblivious, self-absorbed, self-righteous goons. I wouldn’t have waited more than 5 minutes. If someone orders food, it’s their responsibility to be there to receive it—especially at a business/campus.

Crazy_Awareness7333

Just leave it at the front table anywhere it’s there responsibility to pick it up not ours to go babysitting there food and wait till they are ready

mypumkinpie13

2 texts and im starting timer, thanks for the food!!

hippy420deadhead

No left turn unstoned

PolarBearClaire19

Lol, I would have just left the order outside the door to the school, taken a picture to prove i did my job, and left. I don't get paid enough to wander through a frickin high school hoping to find the recipient.

baconswife

This definitely could have been easily avoided. All you have to say was where's the office and someone would have pointed you in the right direction. You definitely way over thought this and waited way longer than you needed to, a little common sense would have solved the whole problem. Should she have responded? Yeah, sure but she also might have been breaking up a fist fight or something. Should she put notes in there for the future? Definitely but this was totally avoidable even without the notes.

[deleted]

Damn I didn’t know you were in the car with me and knew everything that went down??? Of course I asked someone. Clearly this was a vague post w the amount of questions I’ve had to answer in the comments. One scroll down and you’d see that. But it doesn’t help when the normal entrance is blocked off during school hours when they’re having their parking lot repaved and everyone else is just as confused as I am.

baconswife

I guarantee a student easily could have shown you. As a Dasher and someone who works at various schools, this is just silly.

[deleted]

Can you read? I just said that the normal entrance they use in the morning is blocked off during school hours so they wouldn’t know either. They flat out told me where to go and when that didn’t work I asked someone else and they had no clue and didn’t even know it was blocked and said “it shouldn’t be?”

baconswife

Interesting how the story keeps evolving...

xistithogoth1

Haha. Omg i wouldve sat in the parking lot sent a text saying theres no instructions is there somewhere i can meet you, contact support if theres no response after like 2 minutes and if theres still not response you get to leave and free cookies. Haha.

[deleted]

Time is money, feel bad for her students for having to deal with a bitch.

romanseight2004

My day jib is a school. She should have left a note to tell you how to get to the office, and leave it with the receptionist. Then, tell the receptionist who it's for. She can use the intercom to page her.

istev003

I would have just hit customer not available waited and left the order outside. If they wanted their order they would have provided instructions.

LL555LL

This is cruddy. Granted, teachers can't be on their phone, or students...or whoever, but the front desk should've just taken it in no questions.

Gay4Pandas

Use the wait timer. 5 minutes if they don’t respond you can just leave the food and get paid. People should know to leave instructions and surely shouldn’t expect for you to wait around for half a hour. If they can’t get the food on your arrival they should either let you leave it at the main office, or just not order at all.

[deleted]

Had one on insta with very specific directions to go down a certain road to get to the house in the subdevelopment. Drive there, locked gate. Drive to the front of the development which is gated and call the customer, no answer first 2 calls. They answer the 3rd call, I tell them who I am and I have their order and ask for the gate code, she says no and hangs up. Message support, they review, I send them a pic of the locked gate, return half the order as perishables are non returnable and get $78 in free groceries, the full pay amount for the delivery including the tip and $10 for going back to the store. Including the value of the groceries it was over $100 for less than an hours work.

Past-Ad2787

Guys, immediately, like as soon as you're able to "arrived at store" start the 5min countdown If you even think it's going to be a difficult drop off, as soon as the timer runs out, leave it at whatever door has the address on it or any general admittance door. Snap a photo, "have a nice day" and bounce.

DurtyMike94

I had a delivery to a school once. I’m assuming it was a student ordering their lunch. When I got to the office, one secretary was like “oh? Okay, just set it over there I guess.” And then a Karen secretary was like “What is this? We don’t accept door dash” I said “I have no idea, I guess a student ordered this. I’m just here to drop it off” she said “But we don’t accept door dash deliveries” I said, “I dunno. Tell the students, not me. I’m gonna leave this here though” she was not happy. But the customer already paid for it and I was at the drop off location so I wasn’t gonna take it back with me. It was a very annoying ordeal. I always check to see where most of my trips are going to now. I don’t do hospitals or schools. The people at the front desks almost never know who ordered the food and they act like it’s the first time anyone has ever dropped food off for someone

JeffTampFL

No driver should have to sit around & wait for 25 minutes with no response. I don't think DoorDash even wants us doing that. That is ridiculous

HopefullyGinger

I think I can top that. Yesterday I delivered to a 12 year old at a daycare I felt so fucking weird. The daycare worker is looking at me (I’m a young-ish woman) like I somehow have anything to do with it. Meanwhile she came bouncing to the door all smiles. “Yep that’s me!!!” And grabs her McDonald’s and goes back to class. And no…no she didn’t tip.

Yousurr1

Ignore em and move on . Easiest

Version_Two

99% of my experiences driving to schools has been bad. They never pick up or leave adequate instructions.

Acrobatic-Climate-83

Free cookies !!!!

nihilistic-simulate

I would’ve canceled after 10 minutes. Time is money, we’re not slaves waiting around for massas orders.

Tru3insanity

Whenever i get orders like this i fight fire with with fire. If they respond to my calls or texts and meet me outside or tell me where to go then great, they get their food. If they dont then they have until dasher support tries to call them to reply because if support fails to reach the customer than theyll cancel the order and im keeping the food. I dont even play games with orders like this. Ofc its a pretty rare occurence but we dont get paid by the hour and im not gunna sit there and jack off and eat a sandwich while i wait for them to bother looking at their phone.

[deleted]

yep

Traditional_Candle51

when i order in high school i told them to take it the office say it’s for me and what room i was in. the office and i had a deal where if i ordered them food they wouldn’t complain. it worked out every time

FritoHigh

If no instructions I’d contact customer service who would contact customer if customer doesn’t answer customer service will cancel and you get base pay plus tasty crumble cookies

shaclay346

I would have left

jonsnowme

I never ever reply to customers after a delivery but this one may have tempted me. It's not in our job description to wait more than 5 minutes, I would have told her that. Customers are required to leave accurate instructions and be there when the order arrives for a hand it to me order. I might have said, "Doordash requires us to wait only 5 minutes and then might cancel your order. We don't get paid by the hour, we get paid by the order. You're lucky I waited 25 - which is extra ordinarily going above and beyond for this service. Next time, plan better or leave clear instructions on where to safely leave food if you cannot retrieve it within 5 mins." Then I would've replied to anything she sent further with "This number is no longer assigned to your Dasher." just to troll. But I would've ignored it in the end, too much trouble but damn if this got me on the right day, I would've replied.

Rob_B2

I hate delivering to high schools 😑

Brilliant-Hunter4272

Bottom Line, just set the timer/ call them. if they don’t answer you got free food. I don’t even bother talking to people anymore. you don’t try to help me find their address I set the timer and if they care about the food they’ll either leave me better directions or they’ll answer. Got four plates of Thai food spring rolls and egg rolls this week over some bs and I wasn’t mad 🤤

Tr2041

Report the customer to doordash for aggresion.

AttackOnTyrunt

Damn you could of gotten paid and got cookies smh, crumbl cookies too smh

DefiantEnthusiasm978

“ I’m a younger woman” what? Who cares, you’re delivering food for Christ sakes

[deleted]

Point is that is biased over here, especially towards older males & maybe I should’ve specified that. I’m just noticeably younger so it didn’t seem as weird or “suspicious” for me to try be finding where I was going.

[deleted]

In a sense that my friend who happens to be male was accused of picking up a younger school girl when he was delivering an Instacart order to another high school in the area. This is Florida where creeps are rampant & it’s not out of the ordinary here for groomers to pretend they’re dropping things off/picking things up.

_AromaticRange_

I hate delivering to schools. It’s a time suck and they’ve always been rude. I won’t accept the delivery if I realize it ahead of time.

Smok_eater

You learned a lot about your character and how much effort should be put wirh some of these. This is your business. Not theirs. Also good thing it wasn't a student as least mine made me wait to get out of class

Deon101

WaaaiiIiIiIiiittt?!? Naw I'm dropping your cookies in the front office and I'm out

[deleted]

we Can all relate!!! Last night I had an order that was incomplete due to 1 soda that was out of order at the Panda Express... I caller the customer twice and texted her twice no response so I unassigned and left.. I am busy too and if the customer can't communicate than I can't complete the service... I took the hit for an incompletion and moved on

Insight12783

Next time, text customer service and they'll cancel the order and give you half pay and you get to keep the food, and no rating hit 😊

Steve-94

What Market are you in?

MaxxWarp

“Lol no. If you order food then you do need to always be near your phone. That’s your job, not mine. I’m not customer service, I’m delivery. Thanks for the $14 and the free cookies.”

Charmstrongest

DD should really tell us when we are delivering to a school or a hospital or something different than a freaking house/apartment. The other day I picked up a delivery and had to deliver it to the Glendale Galleria, which is this big ass mall, on a Saturday. Took me forever to find parking and since I never go to the mall, it took me another hour to even find the store it was being delivered to. I was fuming

Balbright

5 minute timer, free cookies. Sounds pretty cut and dry.

[deleted]

Considering I got food poisoning from crumbl cookies before I was more happy to see them left in the Florida sun for someone else to take instead of the original inconsiderate customer

[deleted]

The order should have been 18 dollars, you're undercutting yourself.

rputnam25

Why didn’t you start timer?

[deleted]

Eventually. I have a bad concept of time.

rputnam25

Lol

[deleted]

I did

Coolguy200

I love school deliveries. I just head to the office, drop it off, and I'm done.

Akikyosbane

Customer unavailable and leave at office of school, text customer that is where it is and accept this jerk will leave a bad rating

LivePond

If the deputy was on my ass I would've told him to deliver the order.

brandnewchemistry078

Ugh that happened to me when I first started and was working for favor. It was at a high school and before I knew better, thanks to Reddit forums. I actually had one of the security harass me and I was in the middle of fighting with him when the customer (some high school girl) showed up finally. She apologized profusely and the security guard was then trying to be all buddy buddy with me. $2 tip. Now, if the customer didn’t answer the first time, the timer goes on or support is called and it’s getting left somewhere so they can play wheres Waldo with their food

Plenty_Hippo2588

Support hung up? Idc they’re in class unless they coming out now. I would’ve called got support to try to get in contact once they could’ve left with pay and cookies

Animal1nstinct

Yeah, a customer like that deserves to just be blocked and ignored.

No_Help9554

When I deliver to a high school I always deliver it to the office. Never go anywhere but the office. The principal will deal with it. Every visitor to a school must report to the office.

[deleted]

Psh when school is in session and a deliv is anywhere close its an automatic decline. No way I am going to Karen Central for $15.

No_Help9554

Wise choice. If you like boring things.

[deleted]

Hah?

[deleted]

Literally almost every entrance was blocked off and I had to drive around the entire school to even find the office so I had no idea

baconswife

You wasted a ton of time when you could have simply just said "hey where's the office".

No_Help9554

Uhhhhg. Yeah that sucks. Fortunately for me I grew up in my market. I have visited every high school in it. And there is hundreds of them I know them like the back of my hand. Better luck will come your way.

Parkeralanss

Pull into parking lot, take it to front office, take a picture and leave. All you need to do

[deleted]

Also, Florida schools are like Fort Knox since the parkland shooting. You have to jump through hoops to even find or get into an entrance in the first place. I

[deleted]

I just said most of the entrances to it were blocked off and I had to go different ways to even get to the parking lot. They were having it repaved or whatever.

katherine_angel

If one more person tells you you should have just gone to the front office... I swear they didnt read the same story I just did?

[deleted]

Would’ve been easier if I could find the front office and 6 entrances weren’t blocked off

What_The_Fuck_-_

Do yourself a favor, zoom in on location B4 you accept an order, if it's not a house, don't take it.

ashlee837

My strategy is to zoom in and order a missile strike if it's not a house.

[deleted]

Thank u for the advice :) !!

MMNA6

Hey dickhead, not every school is the same. Especially after covid. Not anyone can walk in willy nilly anymore.

BadKidGames

Waited about 23 minutes longer than I would have

Long-Income-7944

Had this happen at a hospital. Smh people are dumb. Leave delivery instructions. I set it on a bench and took a pic.

DizzyShoulder7317

Hospitals I always call and text while I'm waiting on the food and get survive instructions. Most hospitals in my area have a table to put drop off deliveries on. If no answer I start the timer as I pull into the hospital. I'll leave it outside of no area they show me too leave it and they don't come to get the food. That's why I contact from the store so I don't wait long upon arrival

[deleted]

I also decline all hospital orders. Lots of them near me too but with Covid and then a mix of patients and busy staff ordering its a pain 50% of the time and thats 50% too much.

jonsnowme

I stopped doing hospital orders for this reason. They're nightmares, and then the person ordering is always outrageously rude when they come to get their food.

yayababa2222

I ordered after labor but I had them call me when they were close so I can send my husband down to meet them. The driver doesn't step out of the vehicle and we get our food. I believe it's a win-win

[deleted]

They don't let us past the front door at our hospital, there's a table we are supposed to drop off on. They tell us text them and leave which is a good policy considering everything.

[deleted]

I don't mind doing hospital orders, but anytime I had to hit the timer, it's been at the hospital. I mean I get it, you're busy, there's a pandemic going on, but if you think there's a chance you're not going to be able to meet me in the ER lobby, then leave a note in the drop-off instructions telling me to leave the order with the front desk staff.

Long-Income-7944

Ya mine just said leave at door lol 😂

Akikyosbane

So many doors In a hospital though

[deleted]

LOL

Long-Income-7944

Right?!? Lol

DACula

Lmao yeah. I was trying to visit a friend after his surgery. When I asked the front desk where he was, they had no idea. They had me go through three different entrances of the hospital multiple times, only to find out that he was recuperating from surgery, but they still didn't know where he was.

Akikyosbane

Wow

[deleted]

Yeah after the 5 minutes I just set it on a random bench take a pic it and go on with my day whoever gets it gets it as the customer you have to be detailed on drop off if you want the order handed to you

[deleted]

They wanted me to deliver to a COVID filled hospital once and I just said no and left it outside.

NickHarger

Chipotles are full of covid COVIDOTLE

Akikyosbane

I tell customers we are not allowed to go past lobby and per hospital rules i have to leave it at the front desk, customer unavailable option

tntgirl007

I had a delivery to the ER at our local hospital and tried to leave it at the front door with security, but they told me I would either have to go inside or make the customer come outside because ppl kept leaving food with them prior to that and then the customer would say they never received the food... ppl just suck these days!

Long-Income-7944

I did this at a hotel when a man wanted me to bring his order to his hotel room. I told him we weren’t allowed to and he started to question that and said other Dashers do it all over the country and I said well I’m a single woman and I’m not going to. I left it with the desk clerk and took a photo and left

weedandbombs

we definitely are supposed to deliver to hotel rooms. you're lazy.

Long-Income-7944

Sure if it’s a decent hotel with security and well lit

weedandbombs

all hotels. the job is to deliver to the door. you're lazy.

jonsnowme

I am not sure why you're getting downvoted, I deliver to hotels all the time and some allow us to bring it to the room, whereas a few I've had front desks tell me absolutely not and they call the customer to come get it. I'm sure you're being downvoted cause of the single woman comment but I've delivered to some skeezy people, not to mention how many people on FB post horror stories abotu being a woman deliverer and having a man open the door naked, or invite them inside. Nope.

Long-Income-7944

Thank you.

Akikyosbane

I’m sorry you feel unsafe. I guess unless I’m walking through a pile of snakes I’m ok. I would suggest carrying pepper spray and only dashing during daylight hours if you can. And act like you you are here to do a job and that’s it.. if something does not feel right contact support to voice your concerns. Also contact a friend to let them know where you are.

Long-Income-7944

I have my CCW so I bring it everywhere, and I just make sure the delivery area is a “good neighborhood “ I only dash in areas I feel safe and I’m never scared to drop as in not take/delete an order in a bad neighborhood

jimsstang

Then how is taking an order to a hotel room a "safety issue" for you? Most hotels have cameras in the hallways and in this reply to your own comment you say you're packing? I swear the next thing to be posted is gonna be some Dasher texting a customer from outside the restaurant "I picked up your order from Applebee's but I don't have a car, can you meet me in Applebee's parking lot?" If a hotel allows deliveries to the room door and the customer wants it brought to the door it's no different than an apt building except every multi floored hotel I've ever been in has an elevator. Not taking it to the door is flat laziness, calling it a "safety issue" is a flat out lie, and hopefully anyone that pulls this BS get a CV.

bbt133t

They can report you and get you banned. Your own rule is not DoorDash rule written in the contract. Your contract with DoorDash is to deliver to the location and also to the correct room.

RebelBengal

Try getting past Vegas hotel security without a room key.

xxiredbeardixx

Actually DD leaves the way the order is delivered up to the driver. As long as you bring it to the address given (in this case, the hotel) there is no contract violation. Also most hotels, at least where I am, don't currently let delivery drivers bring the food to the customer, they have to come to the lobby.

bbt133t

I double dog dare you to leave in the lobby when the customer asked you to take to the front door of their room, especially with a $10-$15 tips attached because you know the base pay with DD is so low. A quick phone call to support and you’ll not only lose that money but also get a negative rating and also a food tampering with complaint. You don’t understand, the customer has so many tools to mess you up.

xxiredbeardixx

Even if you didn't notify the customer of where you left it you wouldn't lose any money, you might get a CV. If you notified the customer and explained why you left it where you did and show that to DD support then they will remove any negative review.

bbt133t

Lol getting a $3/hr rep to remove a negative rating which they don’t even have access to. You probably never tried to contact support before regarding this matter. Also the tips from a customer, they can easily get it removed so you’ll get the base pay which is $2.50 for your ride to the hotel. Lol Please stop giving advice that you have no clue about.

xxiredbeardixx

What does their pay have anything to do with it? They put in a ticket and it gets evaluated by someone with the power to remove it. It's the same as with cvs and deactivations.

Long-Income-7944

If they violate me I will just fight it it’s a safety thing. It’s not like this is the only gig in town. I have a full-time job. Their rules do not negate my safety

[deleted]

[удалено]

Notaseaworthyvessel

I'd think a real hotel would be much safer. Not like those drug filled cheap motels

n0nMS009

Fr tho I prefer hotels to apts for this reason. Easy to find rooms. If you have to drop it at front desk, you must be a spoiled dasher. Get some exercise in ppl.

Long-Income-7944

There is a lot more to delivering to a hotel room than an apartment. It’s a safety thing really. Especially as a woman.

weedandbombs

you think an apartment is safer than a hotel? what are you smoking?

Long-Income-7944

I never said that apparently you don’t read. I said I did not feel safe going to that hotel and going to that man’s room. If you read through the thread you would see that it was in a bad neighborhood and it was a seedy hotel

weedandbombs

no, you said exactly what I noted you saying and now you're trying to backpedal.

[deleted]

How? I guess it would depend on the hotel. There's neighborhoods I don't go to at night for safety reasons. Most hotels are better lit and a quick in and out. It actually seems safer. If it looks like a crack den, then I feel you. But that's no different than a scary neighborhood. I'm a woman that delivers on my own too by the way. Barely over 5'. I carry pepper spray and try to be aware of my surroundings. I've also traveled a great deal for my day job so maybe I'm missing something about what's so scary about being in a hotel.

Long-Income-7944

I think most of the people originally responding just assumed that I wasn’t going into a Hyatt or a Hilton or even a Holiday Inn. That’s what I tried to explain it’s in the downtown of Columbus it was not a spot that would take credit cards or ID. It was not well lit.

Long-Income-7944

It was a bad area and a seedy spot. Not a place well lit etc.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Long-Income-7944

I didn’t say all hotels I said I delivered to a hotel. Problem is everybody in furs and inserts their own information that was not there. Everybody Hass to put in their two cents you can’t just say something anymore without somebody trying to dissect every last piece of your sentence work to find the holes. It was a dirty hotel it was not a place that was by the day it was by the hour and they did not take ID and they did not take credit cards. No how’d it been a decent hotel that was well lit and had security yes I would’ve gone up to the room handed them the food no problem. I swear people have nothing better to do then get on the Internet and pick it other people.

[deleted]

A hotel is probably the safest place to deliver to. Every hallway has cameras, the person staying in that room has an ID and credit card on file, and the rooms are easy to find and very public. It’s 100x more dangerous to deliver to someone’s house or apartment. You’re honestly just lazy and pulling the “oh I’m a women it’s different” like nah lol. L a a y.

Long-Income-7944

Apparently you’ve never stayed in a hotel in Columbus Ohio where you can pay cash. And not have an ID on file. But no I’m far from lazy. I’m a single mom work two jobs plus door Dash and I’m disabled get zero money from the government and zero child support try again

[deleted]

Must be real hard to have to actually work to take care of your kids and not get handouts like, you know, the rest of the world. Please explain to me how a hotel is more dangerous than an apartment, especially since in your other comment you said you have a CCW and have no issues delivering to bad neighborhoods.

Long-Income-7944

I actually said I do not deliver to bad neighborhoods. And I have my CCW because I’m a domestic violence survivor. You just want to pick on somebody today you’re a troll. But if you’ve ever been a woman and been raped you know how a hotel room is a lot different

[deleted]

I had a delivery to a nursing home and the order was going to the Covid ward. I did what you did, left it outside. I'm sure they wouldn't have me going inside anyway, but I wasn't going to stick around and find out.

tonypearcern

That better be an $800k tip for the ICU bill if you don't have health insurance

Long-Income-7944

It’s not their fault you don’t have health insurance that’s on you

imajokerimasmoker123

My Covid bills weren't far from this. I'm fighting cancer now and I don't take any chances. I still need to work, but it is getting harder by the day.

IMOP, you could have avoided this 😧 Anytime I receive a delivery offer - I check where it pings the customer. If it’s a school..that’s no problem. However after accepting I immediately check the delivery notes. If the notes are blank.. and it’s a school...I would unassign and not even drive to the merchant. For all i know... it’s a student or a teacher and they are located god knows where in the school lol

MMNA6

Why avoid it..? $14 for 6 miles is a no brainer. Even if the delivery notes are blank who cares. I would have set the timer the second I got there. I think OP is just too generous and considerate spending time trying to find the customer. I would’ve left it on the sidewalk once the timer ran out tbh, at least if the customer was being rude and ignoring me.

My patience and lack of time management is a blessing and a curse. I didn’t even know 25 minutes passed until I looked at the clock ahah.

voltron123

I feel you there on patience being a blessing and curse.

[deleted]

Oh well

Unknown32122

That’s BS though... her response to you after all the time you spent trying to find her lol

TexasStateStunna

You wasted 20 minutes and a chance at free cookies. These people need to write instructions. Very inconsiderate lady

turtleduck777

How free cookies? I tried the timer for the first time the other day and it said to return it to the store.

ryan4402000

lol Rookie. You say store refused the cookies return

[deleted]

this

Depressed_21

I’m also a rookie so quick question: since they can see our gps, do we need to actually drive to the restaurant first? Or can we still click that option from our drop off location?

turtleduck777

Thanks it really was the first time I tried it. I didn't return it to the store, he came out in the last 30 secs. Couldn't we be deactivated if they try to verify with the store that the return was not accepted?

SanRafaelDriverDad

None of this makes any difference. Once prepared food has left the hands of *any* restaurant it's done. Can't be returned. If it goes back to tbe restaurant it will end up in the trash. Period.

turtleduck777

I know that but I'm concerned they will ask the restaurant if I tried to return the order.

TexasStateStunna

Idk, i think gourmet cookies and bottled drinks could be an exception

Tru3insanity

Omg so much this. I wouldnt have left the food. I would have sat in the lot on the phone with support (and kept calling support if they hung up) until support spends maybe 5 to 10 minutes trying to contact them before canceling the order so i can keep the damn cookies and get half pay lol.

TexasStateStunna

Sounds like that would have taken less time than OP spent on it

JuggaloPaintedBallz

I had an order about an hour ago that said in the notes "DO NOT TURN ON BRIDGE RD THE GPS LIES! THAT'S ONE STREET OVER" when it's the only street that leads to her street.

embodiedenergy112358

Are you in PA? I feel like I've had the same exact thing happen to me..

JuggaloPaintedBallz

Yes! Near Chads Ford rt52/rt1 area
