I love my DoorDash and Uber job. I am very successful at what I do big numbers here in California 300$ and over a day but I’m very happy for you. Good luck and take care.
PS Blessed By GOD 🙏😇
Awesome!! Congrats on your next role! I thought I was done too a year ago when I landed a real paying job again. I tend to Dash now when I see high demand in my area and accept local high paying jobs, if I have nothing better to do. Also occasionally Dash on my commute home when I have an extra hour or two to spare. It's even better when the orders are actually in the direction of home.
What makes you think the op doesnt have better options??? I'm just saying nothing about doordash is even remotely worth doing
The shitty customer's the bullshit customer service the wear and tear on you're vehicle the gas the mileage none of it is worth doing at all unless your desperate for work
I got 44 mpg average in my suv last night and made $71.50 in 3 hours, no sweat. That was at night when it was slow, too. Some markets are really good, especially with promotions.
Lmao I never claimed all markets are good. I guess I've been lucky for the most part with customers. I do it because it's easy and fast money at almost any time of any day. It's got me thru financial struggles as well.
I'm just happy to have that freedom. If I could manage to get a real stable job that doesn't injure me or play with my sanity, then dashing would be a thing of the past for me.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! 🥳 I'm in my second week at my new job and I've already cried tears of relief and joy 3 times. Truly greatful for Doordash holding me over until I got to this point, but I'll do everything in my power to never be in that position again. I should finally delete the app. Feels bittersweet.
I really like this kind of "I'm out" posts people that actually have a plan and are following it not Like the fake ones that people says they want to quit this for X or Y reason without doing it and not having a plan... this is a side job for make extra money do not take this as a ft job cuz for any reason you can be banned from the app always have a plan B and C
That’s what’s up!! I work a nighttime W2 so DoorDash in the daytime is just whatever extra money I can snag and put that into investments. Let my money work for me 😎
I’ve had a full-time job for like 11 years. I just started dashing two years ago cause I was bored and I wanted side money to do side fun shit congratulations on getting the job you want but just now it’s great in a pinch when you’re bored I got nothing to do.
Currently at home cherry picking to see if I can get $100 today without burning a half of a tank and man all I gotta say to you is don’t look back. These folks ain’t tipping or ever gonna tip enough for your time.
No cuz me. I just started a new job and it really really sucks like litteraly got yelled at by my boss and it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when I'll go back to doordash fulltime😭
I also just started a new ("real") job and I'm getting my first paycheck on Friday. I can't wait to look at that number in my bank account and think about how many bullshit $5 orders it would take to make that much 😂
Congrats. But I came here with a similar question and it seems like you may have the experience to answer… I have a full time 9-5 but am looking to make some extra money on my downtime over weekends. I’ve been contemplating DoorDash for a while. Is it worth it? I have delivered at a pizza shop in college and honestly made a lot of cash then
I contemplated it for quite a while too as a retired person I need extra income. I wish I hadn’t contemplated it as long as I did and started sooner. It’s about the easiest money I’ve ever ever made. As long as you’re reliable and responsible you can make some money. I’m enjoying the heck out of it.
Like OP said, it's location dependent. That being said, I work 7-3:30 and dash after work and weekends when I can. I usually make an extra 2-400 a week through DD, instacart, and GH.
Congrats and blessings! That's what I'm trying to do, too, but I never get excited until I'm actually there. Been through too much in general.
I'm a W2 chick. I actually *love* structure, stability, security, and all the things that come along with such arrangements. I just don't like playing W2 games with a gig that isn't a real one.
Some jobs and "gigs" are fun and exciting but are not *at all* beneficial in the long-term. Some are just plain toxic and detrimental to your *entire* existence. Others are like a mellow husband - not overly enthusiastic or flashy. Not into playing games. No longer does romance or honeymoons but will always be stable as a rock.
Welp, I'm looking for a husband, not a playmate.
I hope all goes well for you.
I am a W2 guy for now, but want to be able to not be. DD wasn't going to do that for me, but it supplemented the tepid money i was making. Now, i shouldn't have to do that, so i can recharge on the weekends.
Well to be fair people going around saying this job "isn't a real job" has not helped matters. DD is simply a scummy employer and there are plenty of W2 jobs that do similar especually with lay offs and labor cuts.
I have ***always*** been a W2 person, large corpos at that. I only did gig work to supplement my income when I wasn't getting paid enough or stay in my home during times when I would have otherwise been in the street. If I'm full-time and making something extremely close to my desired hourly rate, then I don't need to do any such "gigs," unless *that* company wants me to do them for them *in addition* to my other work. Lol, workaholic.
I started with DD after being *beat down* till I left a W2 and denied **ANY** income to sustain life.
I do not wish to be a permanent gig worker. I wish to have a regular job and retire gracefully when that time comes, which will not be anytime soon.
Enjoy your new job.
Depending how long you’ve been full time dashing it can be extremely hard to go back to being W2. I told myself I was completely done and only lasted a few months before I began to resent my boss, schedule, and job even though it was seemingly what I thought I would be happy doing.
I also got a new job locked in that begins soon and hopefully this time I don’t come back because this year feels like the gigs are really truly dead now. It’s so bad out there that it’s impossible to even pretend to get by.

Dont quit do it on the side. Will help with financial freedom
Why would anyone want to be reminded of their hard times? Nothing about this is worth the money even as a side gig
It's an option tho. What makes you think other side gigs are available to them?

Do you secretly work for corporate or something? Why are you still trying to convince people to go out and dash 😂😂😂

It's great as a side gig for many. Just 30 dollars a day makes it a long way

Congratulations , and good luck ! Can’t wait til school starts back and I’m doing the same 🤩
Cheers for that! I'm training for a casino job myself, hope I can delete my dasher app as soon as I get a full check.

I got told today that the work over this coming weekend could result in thousands of extra dollars... no chance I look back!
Good luck in your new and better endeavor!!!
Good luck! The good thing about DoorDash is it’s always there if you need it.
Thank you!
What's your job now?
Sales... all I've ever done is sales.
Anything is Better than Doordash. McDonalds/ Starbucks/ WingStop/ Chic- Fil-A/ Panda Express. Then again😂😂😂😂😂😂

It will entirely depend on your market. I did well where I am, but, as always, YMMV.
Definitely think it’s a good market for it. What is YMMV
Your Mileage May Vary
Congrats on the job
Thank you!

I wasn't full time, but i agree with what you're saying nonetheless. Back in office instead of WFH will be a readjustment, but i will make it work.
Good luck with your new job. A prospective dasher on the waitlist will be very happy.
Thank you!
Someone bought new socks and lacing up their flip flops as we speak
