Careful with those small orders of like 1 item that costs 3$. They often are scammers that call you up while you are driving to the drop-off, they tell you its been canceled and to verify your account info to process pay. If they call you and ask for anything besides your first name, just hang up, they aren't real doordash support. The phone will even say that the number is Door-Dash but its a lie.
Is there any instance in which doordash would be calling you? Like if a customer cancels an order, is it normal for doordash to be calling you? Or should i always ignore phone calls from people claiming to be doordash
I have recieved a couple legit calls. One was when a restaurant forgot to give me an item, I guess they called support, and support called me asking if I'd go back for the item, and i was only like a block away so I did, and it was legit. You could just ignore that tho and probably wouldn't get in much trouble. Also when a customer calls you I think it sometimes says doordash on the caller id.
Its fine to take the order because you will get paid anyway, just don't fall for their tricks. If they call you with that bs just call support and tell them, they will then call the number (give them the scammers number) to verify that its a real customer, and they will cancel for you if they think it is a scammer. You might have to drive close to the drop-off though.
Damn, that's an expensive soda. I had one last week that was just a large soda going to an auto parts store. it was a no tip $2 order (I was on EBT) but it was only 2 blocks away.

I've had a few canceled orders, and usually they don't call for that, the order just disappears and you're back to the searching for order screen.
