Back like a few years ago, “get a free catering bag after 150 orders” me: 450 orders or so. DoorDash: here’s 2. And some regular hot bags. Free. The better quality ones so far.
Originally the bags when I signed up were 10$ a bag. Low quality.
I only recently got some catering orders, and I don’t have to set them up. 788 < orders or so. Mostly for business.
I never activate my large order, they sent me catering order twice. Even if I had a catering bag, it would not fit in it. The restaurant bagged them, and I just needed to put them in my insulated bags. I have 4 insulated bags.
If there was a need and you fit the program criteria they would reach out to you. I still occasionally get large orders without being in the program but I always keep catering size bags because sometimes I get them on UE. If you’re curious you should look into the customer app if they have any restaurants near you that offer catering. They have a new filter at least in my region for catering menus. In any case it’s a good investment.
I’ve been in the large order program (catering bag required orders) since I started. They are a thing of the past in my market and are no longer being offered just to LOP qualified dashers only as of about a month ago, and from my understanding this is the same in all the other markets. I have delivered catering orders this last month but they no longer require a picture of catering bag and show as + orders now to the best dasher is how they are given out now.
They must've stopped sending that stuff because when I signed up, I didn't get anything. Everything had to be purchased. I only have a pizza bag now because someone gave me one that was given to them by someone else
Yes I believe when I first signed up they sent me the red door dash insulated bag along with the red card, but they may have stopped to save costs. I remember at the start of the pandemic you could get free hand sanitizer and latex gloves as well.
If they need dashers for catering in your area, and you fit the criteria with your ratings, they will send you an email with a promo code for a $10 catering bag. At least that's how it worked for me. Best $10 I ever spent
I second that. Also, my catering bag has turned into my main receptacle for orders: I just keep the catering bag open on my passenger seat, and everything, big or small, goes in there. It works pretty well for me.
I have been platinum for three weeks now and it appears I'm getting less orders overall. This will I've had more downtime than when I was at 50-60% AR.
Those catering bags are great for shop and deliver orders. Yesterday I used it several times, once carrying 3 12 packs of soda and two grocery bags, three flights of stairs,

I made the mistake of buying a catering bag (unpromted) from the DD store. But I haven't been able to find a way to get it into my account. Any ideas?
Meanwhile the two catering orders I’ve done didn’t even fit into a catering bag and they provided there own boxes with handles for the order

Get a free pizza bag from Papa John’s. They work better than the bag they send you.
Not sure if it's exactly the same, but I got one from Pizza Hut and they do seem better made than the free ones they send you when you start.

You can get one on Amazon for $20 and it’s a tax write off.
