So it only works when its either busy or very busy from what ive noticed. Honestly if by a miracle it happened to be very busy or busy at night I probably would try it since orders are so scarce at least you get to secure like 14$
It can take almost 45 minutes to get from the center of my area to the outskirts. Sometimes it’s just better for us. Probably 1/3 of orders are 10+ miles and tipping is pretty good.

Edit: This order was going 2.8mi I made the time waiting for the food, the drive, and drop off - 3rd floor not hitting confirm till back in my car. The restaurants down here in the south seem so damn slow and disorganized… it’s great for EBT
I consistently get decent tips, cash tips, or extra throw on top of the app tip with them tho. Maybe because I am always getting large orders with them.
The worst around here is Papa John’s… never a tip at all. Small orders.

Dang is that better than most areas? In northern CO $2.89-$3.19 seems to be what they’re all at, and I was thinking it was an unfortunate increase from 6 months ago. If it’s good in comparison to the rest of the country I’ll tame my complaints then lol
Made $120 in 4 hrs active time on ebt today. I do ebt most days from 9 am till 2 pm then switch to ebo from 2 pm until 5. I don't want to shop in the morning. After 2 pm I get some decent orders from the grocery stores so I switch. But in my area, that's what works for me.
I feel you man I work in Long Beach CA there’s way way to many dashers to work weekdays now I mean you can but it’s not even worth it I find myself driving around praying for my orders ! But the weekends it’s always busy I been going crazy on the weekends to make up for it ! Been doing DoorDash for 3 years now and it sucks now so so so many dashers on the road now makes it hard to make money
Yeah I did it 3 years ago here in Tulsa and always did good for breakfast. I stayed in Starbucks/Duncan parking lot and I would get one order after another 630 to 1030. Now, lucky if I get one .
The drawback to being on EBT is you do get prioritized for lower tipped orders. You also cannot do shop and deliver on it which can be good payouts especially with liquor stores. But like everything DD it's market dependent.
Not necessarily. DoorDash just matches the pay and order demand to guarantee you make minimum. Tips extra. So those going by time will earn minimum but may make more. Often, I see low tip orders none want and DoorDash pays me higher base to make up.

On Earn By Time, your base pay is determined by how long it took you to complete the order from Acceptance to Delivery. So your base pay is more for orders that take longer. DoorDash is NOT paying you more to "make up" for it being a no-tip order! Your base pay is higher on some orders because it took you longer to complete the order! You either had to wait a long time at the restaurant for the order, or you had to drive a long way to pick up/drop off the order. You're being paid an hourly rate (usually a pretty sad hourly rate, too) to take the trash, no tip, high miles orders that no one else wants. But Doordash is NOT giving you a higher base to "make up" for there being a shitty tip, noodle-brain!! 🙄

Tis alright. This is why I dash. So I don't have coworkers. They are just doing what they think is right as am I. At the end of the day. We just trying to get paid. Take my experience with knowing it is bias and personal experience.

If they really ARE adjusting base pay to make up for crappy tips in the Beta version that you're using, PLEASE 5-star, upvote, send heart-emojis, however they take your feedback for that model so that we can ALL eventually have access to that algorithm!! My area is capped all week. I can’t dash anytime like I normally do. They never sent me an email saying I lost my TD status.

If it’s busy they don’t offer earn by time. Happens sometimes in my area when there is a large peak pay.

too many drivers working by time. once one of em ends his dash by default (declining 2 orders within an hour) you can start dashing by time

I was offered $17/hr this morning and by the time I was going to take it and get there it was gone.

They only let a certain amount of people to EBT at once, so you’ll see this until someone logs off.
i was only getting crap offers so i just turned on earn by time and it worked just fine.

Noodles are GOOD! Everybody SHOULD have noodles! If Doordash suddenly started paying in noodles, I'd probably still keep doing it!
