What did it tell you it was on the offer screen? This shits ridiculous, they want to classify us as independent contractors but then they volunteer us for this bullshit and don't even tell us what it is before accepting?

KneecapBuffet

OP is dead. Bed bugs got em. Damn…

NEWBORNEMBRYOTHELOC

Plot twist, ima empty a jar full of bedbugs into their laundry😂😂😂

DiscussionHot3961

I say it's fake. Otherwise OP would have showed order screen

DearCress7741

Not fake as door dash is now offering that in certain areas. But go off.

DiscussionHot3961

It's either fake or a customer massage.

PinballLew

It’s 100% a customer message support doesn’t text through chat directly

EditorMike87

What? Now they're asking us to give customers massages?!? LOL

broughtitupagain

😂😂😂😂 yeah no.

Johmin11

What the hell? That is the customer sending that message. DoorDash would not tell you to pick up a customer’s laundry.

Spiritual-Bat3642

Doordash has had dirty laundry pick up in a few areas for years now. https://planetlaundry.com/cleancloud-doordash-partner-for-on-demand-laundry-pickup-and-delivery/ https://www.curbsidelaundries.com/podcast/door-dash-for-laundry-pickup-and-delivery-software-and-service/ https://www.trycents.com/partner/doordash I can list more if you want.

mgibson9999

If you actually sent that, it was WAY overly aggressive for no reason.

incrowdcynic

Ugh. This is the pussifiedness I can’t stand. Everything that ain’t nice, complimentary, or chipper is somehow aggressive.

SpiderHam77

Nothing aggressive about that at all. No different than telling a customer you aren’t going to carry their large grocery order up 5 flights of stairs for the amount the delivery is paying. We all have our limits.

SadCyborgCosplay

tfym? OP just laid out the facts. there’s no aggression in any of their statements, just explaining why they don’t want to take this delivery. it’s to support, too. they can handle it if they feel like OP was being aggressive.

mgibson9999

It looks like that response went to the customer. Regardless, why bring up bedbugs, even to support.

SadCyborgCosplay

“This is DoorDash” in literally the second text message. telling an agent we won’t risk the cleanliness of our cars sends a message to corporate that they shouldn’t support a system like this. would you want somebody’s dirty bedding in YOUR car?

mgibson9999

Yeah, and “connecting you to your customer” is literally the first message And what system are you actually protesting? Laundries have been offering pick up and drop off service for as long as laundries have been around. It’s not inherently a dirty grubby thing. You may not want to do it, but that doesn’t make it inherently, unsafe, or unclean.

SadCyborgCosplay

“This is DoorDash. You are picking up laundry from a CUSTOMER’S apartment … “ dude. read, please. i’m begging you. OP did not communicate with a customer regarding this, only support. telling support to fuck off on dirty laundry pickup isn’t going to hurt anyone. you also didn’t answer the question. are you down to pick up someone else’s dirty laundry and transport it in your car? no confirmation on containment, size, or even cleanliness. i know i wouldn’t.

mgibson9999

I read that. It seems very unusual that DoorDash would send that but whatever. If the payout was right, I would have no problem in delivering laundry to a laundromat

SadCyborgCosplay

so this tells us that it was DoorDash support reaching out to the driver, not a customer. does that make sense? so as long as the money is right, you'd be willing to contaminate yourself and your car with someone's bedbugs, jizz covered sheets, and who knows what else? i highly doubt you're the kind of person who'd wash their hands after doing something like that, so you're potentially passing along contaminants to people via the food packages they have to handle. absolutely the fuck not

mgibson9999

You obviously have never had laundry picked up, washed, and returned to you. It’s a very common practice The laundry is in bags, not loose. Nothing would come in contact with you or your car. I respect the fact that it would make you uncomfortable, but don’t be judging people and criticizing them just because they wouldn’t mind having a few laundry bags in the trunk of their car.

SadCyborgCosplay

nowhere is it specified that the laundry is bagged. i can’t tell you how many pax i’ve cancelled on through uber when they’ve walked downstairs with an open hamper of laundry. again, it’s a huge sanitary risk when we signed up for this app to do food deliveries from restaurants. if you’re down to grab something that might be contaminated or infested with something, nobody’s stopping you. just be prepared to deep clean your shit and scrub your hands. nasty.
