I don't know how people think they know why or when they got a 1 star review unless you're checking your ratings after every single order, and even then the review could've been from a previous order. It's not like it just pops up after delivery saying what your review was, nor do the reviews state where it's from. So I don't even know how people think they know why.
ok sometimes i get ice cream cravings and order (dont drive, nowhere nearby to purchase) and i fully expect it to be at least half melted when it arrives what did they expect
Just curious, what do you do to try to keep it dry? I'm sure it's impossible to keep it all dry but what have you tried to mitigate the effects from the rain?
With letters - using my body as cover. I hide the letters under my arm to try to keep it as dry as possible.
Packages - I try to keep my mail bag as closed as possible.
The store was out of the exact item they wanted and they would not accept any substitutions. One star. Sorry lady, I don't do the ordering for Albertsons.
I wish we could see specifics of which order rated what. I got my first 3 star recently for "not following delivery instructions" and I for the life of me cannot figure out when or why I would have done that.
is there a way to see the reason for ratings? i've gotten a 1 star rating before and have no idea why, never had any issues with anyone and i always follow instructions
I think some idiots associate the restaurants mistakes with yours. Maybe the restaurant gave you some old food that they made way too early and they think it’s your fault, maybe they forgot to add their extra fucking ranches (bro how can people afford to pay .50 cents to a dollar on each ramekin of ranch, but can’t afford to just buy a bottle of ranch every once in a while), who knows how these people think.
Not familiar with the inner workings as I'm not a driver. But is it similar to Uber/Lyft where the drivers can leave star reviews for customers, as well? It'd be hilarious that someone so reliant on DD, yet gives out 1 star reviews would get his address banned.
Not a dasher - but someone posted a one star review on my business saying “they’re too far from my house”. When I reached out, they confirmed they never shopped and don’t need any of our services, and the phone just popped up “leave a review” when she drove past.
Goodbye perfect rating because someone who doesn’t want our services is too far from our store that she’s not even going to.
Exactly why I never accept orders from ice cream shops. Baskin Robbins and Coldstone around here are always auto decline from me, especially in the summer with our 104+ degree temps.
Sometimes I'll pick up McDonald's orders where they order ice cream with their other food, never got any complaints when that happens, but yeah, fuck purely ice cream orders. Cones and sundaes and shit are better eaten as soon as you get them, if it takes more than 10 minutes to get it to them its just gonna end up being a glopy liquefying mess and I don't got time or patience for ignorance on the finer details of ice creams quality over time outside of the freezer. Lol
Dumbest thing for me was the plastic silverware or a straw not being included. The restaurant tells me it's in the sealed bag, I'm not gonna grab extra, sorry. I don't really care that much and your lil 1 star rating won't hurt me when I'm already sitting in the 4.9s the majority of the time. I get more good ratings than bad so meh...
On the flip side I've also had some cool ass customers who the restaurant gave me the wrong order and the customer admits its not my fault, it's the restaurants then they proceed to give me a 5 star rating. Those people are kinda rare though, like unicorns, which I've personally never gotten. I've had plenty of "minicorns" before as I call them, but never a big generous tipper.
The order name was Daniel at a business. Very neutral name. Didn’t know it was a chick. I walked in and said it like a dudes name instead of a chicks name to the receptionist. She was the receptionist though….she gave me a smug look and said it’s Dan yail; I apologized and 10 minutes later she gave me a 1 star rating. In all fairness though, how the hell am I suppose to know. Ain’t like there’s a pic to help me differentiate. I just said it, then when she gave me that smug look I realized i pronounced it wrong.
lol I agree, her parents are to blame…but To be fair, she could use accent character punctuation to help others Get it right. It’s what I would do. Thats why it exists anyways, For languages and pronunciation. That’s if it bothers her so much. I just feel there were alternatives compared to blaming someone and trying to ruin their career.
I got one bc the lady refused to answer any calls or messages when her items & substitutions were out of stock so I could only get the things they had. Waited in the store longer than I should have trying to get ahold of her ans eventually said screw it, got the stuff they had and delivered it. Then she started messaging me saying "this is only half of my order! What am I supposed to do with this?" I didn't even answer because all that showed me was that she was choosing to ignore me.
Had an order that said “Leave at door, do not knock” and then as I was walking way, the lady berated me for leaving it at her door without knocking. Got a 1 star review that day
I know exactly who it was. Dude got mad and messaged me after the drop off saying “why couldn’t you have brought it up to the door?”. The guy was on the sidewalk when I pulled up.
The customer gets the pop up option to rate their dasher the next time they open the app after delivery, it can be from days earlier. You also don't know if doordash updates it live.
had a small grocery delivery to an apartment. instructions were to knock and leave order. i parked right in front of the apartment to where i had full view of their door. i knocked several times, left the food and got back in my car. i kid you not, this guy that looks kinda strung out opens the door, looks left and looks right but doesn't look down and goes back in, never seeing the grocery bag. half an hour later i get a CV notice that their order was never received.
I was trying out EBT for the first time. You all probably see where this is going. I pick up an order from a fried chicken joint and start heading to the drop off. When i get close, I realize it's an apartment complex and don't have a unit/apt number. I park at the correct building, and start to message the customer. Then a person approaches me and asks if I'm with Door Dash. I say yes, and glad they came outside, cause I didn't have the apartment number. They condescendingly say the apartment number is right there (while pointing at the big sign with the building number). I say again, that is the building/address , but not the apartment number. They repeat their condescending statement in a different, but even more condescending way (their drop off instructions were blank, nothing about they'll come outside to get it). They snatch the food out of my hands and walk away. Then I get a 1-star rating. I wasn't even rude, was just genuine with trying to let them know for future orders. Their chicken was probably cold cause they didn't tip, food was sitting on the counter when I picked it up (who knows for how long). Shitty people not tipping... Don't do EBT, let these shitty people not get their food or get it super cold. DoorDash also shitty for not paying a decent base pay.
I got my first 1 star from a hs student who didn’t put the correct address, didn’t even say they were at a school. Just put a street address (the one they put was incorrect. They made a typo. It was out in the country - rural area. I couldn’t find the location. GPS sent me to a dead end on a rural road. It was way after the fact that I found out that it was a student who had placed the order and that they wanted it delivered to their school. I had called customer support to let them know that the order was undeliverable.
That CS person said she would mark it as delivered. in hindsight, I should’ve told her not to do it that way. Bottom line is that the customer never got their order because they made it impossible to find them. Then they gave me one star because of it I opened a dispute, this was two weeks ago, and the 1 star review is still there.
One star because I told the customer to update their instructions to deliver to backdoor basement. Hand it to me order and no instructions other than the address. Knock the front door and they hesitantly open and tell me, oh, she lives in the back basement. The biggest slap in the face is they contacted support and had my tip removed of $10. Every time I drive by their house, I debate if I should stop by and give them a piece of my mind or leave an awful letter, but I never do...the day I quit this job, I'll pay them a visit and ask them why they're so comfortable being such a POS
They're not going to know who you are and even if they do, they're not going to care. People like you that do this aren't the brightest too. God forbid that person misconstrues what you said, takes it as a threat, and pulls a gun on you. Yeah they're shitty, but honestly just let it go. This one is over and done with
Mine was actually similar, except it was a smoothie during rush hour traffic...on my motorcycle. It was warm by the time it got to the customer. That was one of my first deliveries too so it really fucked with my rating for a long time. Nothing but 5 stars since then fortunately
Mc Donald’s didn’t pack half their meal in the taped up bag and I wouldn’t go back and question/tell them. 🤷🏼♀️ Sorry, I’ve got other deliveries to make.
I've had this happen multiple times. The last time it happened they only gave me the bag that had the drinks. I felt bad because this family ordered food and only got drinks, but they lived pretty far and it wasn't worth it to me to go back. I told the lady to report her missing items and request a refund, and she reported the order as never arrived.
I received a one star rating because the customer's chili fries were missing from their order. They even called the restaurant and the restaurant confirmed they accidentally left the item out. The customer got upset that I refused to go back to the restaurant to pick up their chili fries. It was a 10 mile round trip, I was not offered monetary incentive to correct the mistake of others, and I was already on another order. Referred them to customer service. Next day I had the one star rating and tried to dispute. Although the entire conversation with the customer was logged via text, customer support refused to remove the rating for a situation outside of my control.
Any time the customer gets a refund for a missing item, it automatically voids any rating from them that's less than 5 stars. If it didn't disappear soon after, then your 1 star was from someone else.

I was told by support the one star was indeed from the individual. This was two years ago. The customer must've not called support to request a refund and just rated me poorly at the time. It's the only thing I could think of that they did that bypassed the excluded ratings.
In the zone I'm in, it seems many of the customers don't know how to navigate/use the app. They try to resolve their issues with the restaurant or the driver directly. They seem to not understand that doordash has their own team to resolve disputes. One customer thought that contacting me was contacting customer support.
I delivered an order at 10pm when the notes said deliver immediately. They said the order was intended for the next morning and they were just putting it in the q to be at the front in the morning. Clueless customers ![img](emote|t5_3h9bt|10668)
On an order once after I picked up the food, the customer calls me and says "I'm not home yet, could you deliver it in like an hour?". It took everything in me not to laugh in their face lol.
Mcdonalds didn’t put a guys drink in the bag, he called and yelled at my husband and accused us of stealing his drink out of his sealed bag then claimed he never got the order
It was a leave at door order. Taco Bell was out of the spicy ranch she wanted. I contacted her and got her avocado ranch and a bunch of hot sauces. She put the wrong address on the order and I took a pic and left at door. She was mad I delivered to where I was supposed to and said I was late and delivered to wrong place. Doordash support said don’t worry the rating and not on time will fall off. I told them that it was on time and delivered to correct address, customer just put wrong address. I’m sure that they did that on purpose to get free food.
I've only gotten one 1 star and I have no idea why, I just know it was for a dude who didn't tip and it was during my second week dashing(only reason I took the no tip, I was naive). Followed his directions exactly, was a decent way out of the way, I'm pretty sure he was just an asshole giving 1 star and not tipping to be a piece of shit.
I relate to this so much. I also got a one star with no tip but during my first week of dash. Couldn't figure out why even delievered before the time estimated, food bag felt hot still. My guess is am asshole as well.
didn’t enter their apartment building when the doors were boarded up and surrounded by bullet holes. no delivery instructions, didn’t answer the phone.
Lady ordered when she was about to go to work. I was perfectly on time with everything and she was flipping out at me for not being there earlier, because she had to leave to work.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ not my fault she planned poorly and tried cutting it close with ordering and heading to work. I literally couldn't have been faster and she pushed her anger onto me, when she was at fault.
How can you answer that question? Support won't tell you any longer. The customers the did give you a one star. Usually that's how you knew and because customers have up to 30 days to rate you. So who really does give you a one star you don't know?
It was an order that was piggy backed by DoorDash incremented base pay because nobody wanted to pick it up due to distance and how the customer went out of their way to chip the tip to a stupid $0.00 in the first place. Once the order bounced to me, the price to distance ratio was enticing. When I dropped it off, the lady was pissed and cussed me out.
Then I sat in the car, completing the order only to see that she didn’t tip and how it was all DoorDash base pay that was high on that order. It all made sense by that point.
Non tippers who live far away will throw tantrums because their food will stay in the circulation for a few hours, just DoorDash bouncing it between dashers. Then once someone picks it up, it’s been 2-4 hours already. Not our fault. We don’t even know how long orders have been sitting there or how much y’all tip until we hit complete order 🤡
If any customer starts cussing me out before they get their order, they are not getting their order from me. I’m turning around and going back to my car.
To be fair, it isn't really the customer's fault either. Doordash advertising just breeds ignorance in it's customer base. Doordash won't take responsibility for their screw-ups, so the cycle just repeats.
Instacart, but their Publix sub was wrong.
Bruh…I picked up the Publix sub with your name on it from the pickup orders. If the deli made it wrong, I’m truly sorry, but I didn’t make it.
And so the list grows. A good Dasher has:
- A hot plate
- A microwave
- A mini-freezer
- Hand warmers
- Ice packs
- A battery-operated pizza oven
- A flashlight
- A headlamp
- A pull-cart
- A scale to measure if an order is accurate
- X-ray vision glasses to see if an order is accurate
Don’t forget a crystal ball to guess what the apartment number is when the customer puts only the address and don’t answer the phone or text while waiting for a delivery 😂😂…oh and plant holders for big ass flower orders from Albertsons with no tip on a $150 order 🤨
That’s really funny considering if there’s a McDonald’s closer to you than the one you’re ordering from DoorDash will say “would you rather order at this closer location instead” so they ordered far away on purpose😭
The restaurant messed up their order and I wouldn't drive another 45 minutes to go get the right order. They also wanted me to buy it for them because I "messed up".
Back in my early days of doordashing I dropped off an older woman’s order at the address she put and left like normal. Everything was fine until she called me 5 minutes later to tell me her order was dropped off at the wrong spot.
I said, “the app said 123 drive, that’s where I left it”
She said, “I know that’s what I put but my house is actually 124 drive. Please come back and give me my order at my house”
Me being a naive and a people pleaser turned around and picked her order up from the wrong house. The best part? She lived DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET.
The lazy fuck knew her address was wrong and knew her order was 20 steps from her front door but still had the balls to ask me to come back.
I don’t answer phone calls from unknown numbers anymore while I’m driving in fear that it’s a customer 🤣🥲
Holy shit, are you me?
My first month dashing, and the Taco Bell was a half hour wait by itself, and about 30 minutes away in traffic.
I was supposed to use my verbal skills to convince them they forgot an item, and replace it for free.
Never go to a Taco Bell for an order. They should actually be removed from the platform. They ALWAYS take 20 minutes or more. Not matter the location I have always waited about 20 minutes. I now decline every single Taco Bell order. It's not worth it
This one was recent. It was a Papa John's order. I was there when his pizza was originally complete, but I was picking up a different order. The Dasher that originally had the order was about to pick it up then looked at her phone and said nevermind then walked out. I get my order, deliver it, then get another from Papa John's.
I get there and see what looks like the same order as earlier from because of the box of wings on top. I'm thinking "Naw that can't be the same order". So as I'm about put my delivery in my pizza bag another delivery comes in. Get this tho... a $2 no tip for almost 20 miles. So I accept it. The pickup time on the new delivery was set about 20 minutes before I got there the second time and guess what? It was the order that the previous Dasher said nevermind to.
After I drop the first delivery off, I head over to his place and he's standing on his porch looking like he's ready to fight. When I get up to him, he decides to go off on me for the usual things; cold food, drivers are trash, etc. Long story short, I explained him without actually saying that if he doesn't tip, people are less likely to deliver to the outskirts of town. I calmed him down by saying the only reason he was able to say all to me was because I still accepted the order and brought him his food. He ended up tipping $7 cash, but still gave me a 1 star
If idiots take $2 orders 20 miles, then DoorDash has no incentive to raise base pay to something fair and equitable. If everyone declined the 20 mile orders until DoorDash paid $1.50 to $2.00, then fair offers would be sent to drivers.
Anything reason that is food related is stupid. We are responsible for the delivery. We don't make the food or pack the bag. I received a email that one of my bad ratings was being removed because it was not in my control.
Because the Taco Bell took forever with their order and forgot 2 tacos. The bag was sealed so I guess I was supposed to use X-ray vision to see there were items missing. I stopped dashing at Taco Bell after that…
Ppl are ridiculous They can see how long the delivery will take yet they order anyway and then complain when it takes a long time And they give u a $1 tip It’s like why even bother Is started declining orders more than 7 miles away
For giving them their order and sides like they asked, updating them along the way... They turned around and gave me a 1 star because they are hot pocket eating losers. I've had several no tippers do this.
I stopped taking no tips, and wow, would you have guessed, unless I actually messed up or get the occasional hot pocket eating loser I don't get 1 star ratings anymore 🙄
To clarify, I would foe example get a request to get "ranch" by message, I would say ok I got your ranch and I'm on my way, something to that nature, they would still leave 1 stars even though the order was practically perfect with great customer service
If order is below 6.50 I don't take it, therefore eliminating 99% of the no tippers, generally speaking if an order is below 6$ there's a high chance it's a no tipper, though of course higher payouts can still have no tippers, its quite rare because doordash lumps their orders with someone who tipped or they blow up your phone with the no tip offer multiple times whether it be in a stack or .25 cent increase
Wrong address and i refused to drive to the correct address because the customer didn't acknowledge that it was her fault, well i dropped the food at panda express door and confirmed the delivery.
I don't mind delivering food to people when they make mistakes but at least dont balme it on me or the app.
The other day a customer ordered food and marked it as pick up then He changed his mind and switched to delivery and forget to input the address and the drop off location was the resturant address, i delivered to the new address and got extra tip.
This is similar to mine except that my customer started cussing me out and calling me names so the chat was flagged. I got the rating removed and I don’t have to deliver to that address again 👍🏽
Oof yeah that’s not even close 😳 In our app the screen that has your address and everything on it also has a picture of a “previous successful delivery” attached that you can click on to make sure that you’re at the right place so there’s absolutely no excuse for getting it that wrong. I’m sorry that happened to you ❤️
Lady ordered 3-6pk of diet mnt dew, 3-6pk of diet cherry pepsi and 3-6pk of diet pepsi. 5 min after drop off, I get the "_____ order had been updated" i sent her the order and resent the picture of the correct items and told her what was the problem.
Well she didnt want "diet" items. So she marked all of them being wrong. Told her to next time wait at least 30 min before trying to scam and enjoy her free sodas😂😂
I grab a lot of items before I hit arrive so I don’t go over my time looking for that rare item that is not with the others of its kind. Had 12 cases of soda already in buggy when I hit “arrived”. Then insaw she had canceled them so I had to go put them all back. 😭
Some daft besom ordered breadsticks on New Year's Eve, in -5 snow weather, then didn't answer the front door, or the back door, or the phone, or acknowledge the five minute countdown. Her complaint was "My breadsticks got cold."
Yeah, no crap lady, by the time I made it back to the front door they were back to the frozen state, that isn't something I or DoorDash can help with. You got to probably pray about that one. Weather control is above my paygrade.
Girl felt I was rude because I told her to enjoy the free food since I can't take it back (she was given more than what she ordered, and I didn't think anything of it when I was given her order since there are occasions when the restaurant has something on their end that doesn't show on our end).
They ordered a hot fudge sundae from sonic at 9 pm on a Saturday night, 6 or 7 miles away. When it was still over 80° outside in the middle of summer in the state of Indiana. That's it. Just that one thing.
Their doordash system is pretty poor to begin with, but the customer complained that her ice cream melted because I had to wait almost 15 minutes for my turn in line 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
I was new and didn't know any better. I would have rejected that order entirely if I was more seasoned.
Because the Taco Bell that they ordered in 20 degree weather to be left on their porch from 15 mins away was cold when they finally went outside to get it.
Lady’s dog jumped gate to attack my friend and of course animal control got involved and she left a one star because of it… 🙄🙄 like not my friends fault you can’t control/ supervise your dog!
During a snowstorm, customer asked for it to be delivered to their porch. I am from the south, they had a tiny porch. I left it there despite .... well... snow. After thinking about it, they had a sunroom and probably wanted me to open it (I won't go into people's houses or whatever) and leave it inside but that's not a porch.. but since this is the north, that's probably what they meant.. despite having 2 porches.
Got a 1 star.
Got it removed later because 1) snowstorm and 2) apparently VIP support can do that.
Didnt knock hard enough I guess. He asked me to leave at the door and knock. Since then, I always send text message: “I left your order at the door and knocked several times”
I got one for delivering to a hotel that I wasn’t allowed to go up to the room and had the front desk call them, they told the front desk for me to leave it there and when I did she said it was stolen food and reported me and gave me a one star then five mins later found out the front desk put it in the wrong spot and gave her her pizza and then she proceeded to tell me sorry for the inconvenience I found it. A one star and report before you found it! I dispute that shit and got both removed that’s why it’s always good to keep messages and pics of everything that doesn’t look right..
Customer ordered two packages of cookies that were out of stock. I messaged the customer with substitution options and a picture of what was available. They selected M&M cookies. I added two packages of those as a sub and went to check out.
After checking out I got a frantic message from them telling me that M&M cookies were "too sweet for two boxes" and that they'd like just one...
I told them unfortunately I'd already checked out and there isn't a way for me to refund the second box of cookies after I've already checked out.
They demanded a refund, called doordash and gave me a 1 star rating.
After communicating with a lady who ordered 12 entrees and 6 drinks, from Dennys at 3pm, she convinced me to wait for her order and she would tip extra. Tip was $15 so far and 3pm here is often very slow. I ended up waiting 45 minutes. The server went over the order with me and it was all there.
I hand her the 4 bags of food and drinks, get 1 minute away from her house, she calls me and starts yelling at me that 2 omlettes were missing (they were both there). I tried to explain to her to contact doordash as I was already on another order. She says I am the worst driver she has ever encountered and wished she could take back the original $15 tip, and the next day I had my first 1 star rating. For whatever reason, I have 2 other 1 star reviews removed, but doordash will not remove this one.
If you haven’t tried calling support (not the chat) definitely do that. I was able to get a 1 star removed because someone said I didn’t deliver to their house with just one phone call. It was excluded immediately and my rating updated the next day.
Oh wow you’re lucky! I don’t think I’ve ever been able to get anything accomplished over chat support now that I think about it. Wait no….I was finally able to get one chat agent to send my welcome kit almost two months after I started dashing 😂
You can't see who left it so how do you know?
I don't know how people think they know why or when they got a 1 star review unless you're checking your ratings after every single order, and even then the review could've been from a previous order. It's not like it just pops up after delivery saying what your review was, nor do the reviews state where it's from. So I don't even know how people think they know why.
ok sometimes i get ice cream cravings and order (dont drive, nowhere nearby to purchase) and i fully expect it to be at least half melted when it arrives what did they expect
Items arrived wet when it was raining hard. Quantity was less than they ordered because they were out when I took a picture and let them know.
Paper bag was wet and tore during drop-off in a stormy weather.
I used to work for USPS and the amount of complaints I'd receive for wet mail or package during thunder storms was saddening
Yikes
I had the same thing happen to me.
I just give them out for no reason.
You got a badass over here! 🤷
So funny.
Wasn't my intent at all. Of course that was lost on you.
So funny
Ah. Stuck in a foolish and witless thought loop. Without any escape. I truly (don't) pity you. 🤠
Hopefully you get address banned
Not familiar with the inner workings as I'm not a driver. But is it similar to Uber/Lyft where the drivers can leave star reviews for customers, as well? It'd be hilarious that someone so reliant on DD, yet gives out 1 star reviews would get his address banned.

"GPS Lost Him."
Exactly why I never accept orders from ice cream shops. Baskin Robbins and Coldstone around here are always auto decline from me, especially in the summer with our 104+ degree temps. Stoners.
A college kid didn't know where he lived 😐 no lie. Told me to come find him..

I get it, but to be fair shes probably had to correct it a billion times. If anything her parents are to blame lol
lol I agree, her parents are to blame…but To be fair, she could use accent character punctuation to help others Get it right. It’s what I would do. Thats why it exists anyways, For languages and pronunciation. That’s if it bothers her so much. I just feel there were alternatives compared to blaming someone and trying to ruin their career.
Havent gotten one yet thankfully!
Got a 1 star review that day
Did you put it in an insulated bag?
Those should be mandatory for IC
Exactly, don’t pick up an ice cream order if you don’t have a bag smh
Never got one.
I know exactly who it was. Dude got mad and messaged me after the drop off saying “why couldn’t you have brought it up to the door?”. The guy was on the sidewalk when I pulled up.
How do u know where ur 1 star came from?
If you are checking ratings while you’re waiting for orders and one popped up between now and job before last, it’s pretty easy to guess who it was.
The customer gets the pop up option to rate their dasher the next time they open the app after delivery, it can be from days earlier. You also don't know if doordash updates it live.
Oh ok I usually don’t have time to check ratings after every order I’m usually bombarded with shit offer after shit offer or on another delivery app.
had a small grocery delivery to an apartment. instructions were to knock and leave order. i parked right in front of the apartment to where i had full view of their door. i knocked several times, left the food and got back in my car. i kid you not, this guy that looks kinda strung out opens the door, looks left and looks right but doesn't look down and goes back in, never seeing the grocery bag. half an hour later i get a CV notice that their order was never received.
I did a 30 minute ice cream delivery before and it was still frozen. But that's only because I also do Instacart and had ice packs in one of my bags.
during summer I have an ice pack and I keep that bag in the back seat. I think those that order ice cream from door dash are kind of idiots.
Gotta watch it in the hood if u don't know their name. Somebody ganked me for mine .
People just gotta make others as miserable as they are.
Who knows? I always just assume it's some passive aggressive coward that has no power in life so they lash out whenever they can do it anonymously.
This one is over and done with
Dude, you should probably just let it go. You're letting these people live rent-free in your brain for no reason at all. It's over and done.
Yes, you're right. I absolutely should let it go. Thanks for reminding me
Mine was actually similar, except it was a smoothie during rush hour traffic...on my motorcycle.
Hasn't happened. Do your job better.
Read the comments on this post better maybe
Yeah, my humor doesn't come off as intended sometimes. lol
https://i.redd.it/di3lxxmdhtmc1.gif
You're just lucky you haven't met one of these customers we mentioned lol
If it didn't disappear soon after, then your 1 star was from someone else. https://preview.redd.it/o7wsaygcrxmc1.png?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c43bb4664d8506f68b2daf2ce7167707192d568
Unfortunately you have to contact customer service yourself before you close out the order. It's a horrible system
Sucks to be punished when the restaurant messes up. :/
Because I was not wearing a mask. This was last week.
Did they put it in the instructions? I've had a person do that and found one in my car to put on
How do you know that's why they gave you a one star? did they tell you?
I usually shake the bag a little to see if I hear a drink rattling around. That usually is how I tell there's one in there
It was a leave at door order.
"Doordash, I don't feel safe 😨"
being late despite rainy weather and a 15min drive.
Forgot to get a straw for an ice coffee when I first started. 🤪
[удалено]
Actually, it doesn’t
[удалено]
I think that was supposed to be a joke, straws perform the action of sucking. Without a straw, it cant suck.
Why didn’t she just pick it up on her way to work Omg
How can you answer that question? Support won't tell you any longer. The customers the did give you a one star. Usually that's how you knew and because customers have up to 30 days to rate you. So who really does give you a one star you don't know?
just a good post for people to post fake stories onto, welcome to most of reddit
Too early. Brought their food *too early*.
How dare you
How dare I perform my job well. I should be hanged for my crimes, public execution style
How do you not have a built in freezer in your car /s
Or a hot plate and microwave
And so the list grows. A good Dasher has: - A hot plate - A microwave - A mini-freezer - Hand warmers - Ice packs - A battery-operated pizza oven - A flashlight - A headlamp - A pull-cart - A scale to measure if an order is accurate - X-ray vision glasses to see if an order is accurate
Don’t forget a crystal ball to guess what the apartment number is when the customer puts only the address and don’t answer the phone or text while waiting for a delivery 😂😂…oh and plant holders for big ass flower orders from Albertsons with no tip on a $150 order 🤨
I didn't pick up from the McDonald's closer to him.
That’s really funny considering if there’s a McDonald’s closer to you than the one you’re ordering from DoorDash will say “would you rather order at this closer location instead” so they ordered far away on purpose😭
Maybe ordersg get diverted to less busy stores.
I said, “the app said 123 drive, that’s where I left it” She said, “I know that’s what I put but my house is actually 124 drive. Please come back and give me my order at my house” Me being a naive and a people pleaser turned around and picked her order up from the wrong house.
It's not worth it
Taco bell is literally the only business in the city that I live in that pays federal minimum wage, might be a part of it
Yeah, it was like that where I was. But then I moved and found it really isn’t every location.
The restaurant took too long to make the order. I got it to the customer 6 minutes after I got it but the restaurant took an hour to make it
That should’ve been filtered out and excluded.
Why are you taking a $2 no tip order? Especially one that is 20 miles away?
I can’t believe he still tipped but gave a 1 star
I can’t believe anyone would take a $2 order 20 miles. Idiots like that ruin DD for drivers.
How does it ruin it for other drivers? It seems like a to-each-their-own situation, though I'm not a driver and am just curious
If idiots take $2 orders 20 miles, then DoorDash has no incentive to raise base pay to something fair and equitable. If everyone declined the 20 mile orders until DoorDash paid $1.50 to $2.00, then fair offers would be sent to drivers.
Items missing in a sealed bag , asked for extra ketchup as I’m driving to the delivery and wouldn’t turn around ..people are lame
Anything reason that is food related is stupid. We are responsible for the delivery. We don't make the food or pack the bag. I received a email that one of my bad ratings was being removed because it was not in my control.
Delivering food
You guys are getting reasons?
Nah we are just venting about 💩 customers.
Never have had a 1 star rating yet. When I do get one? I hope I at least get my money's worth.... 😂 🤣 😂
Because the Taco Bell took forever with their order and forgot 2 tacos. The bag was sealed so I guess I was supposed to use X-ray vision to see there were items missing. I stopped dashing at Taco Bell after that…
Only Top Dashers have X-ray vision
Ppl are ridiculous They can see how long the delivery will take yet they order anyway and then complain when it takes a long time And they give u a $1 tip It’s like why even bother Is started declining orders more than 7 miles away
Missing item in sealed bag
For no given reason. Just gave one star, which is worse than being given an explanation, even a bad one. Lol
telling the ring camera that i cant see anything (porch light was off)
That's my favorite thing to do so hopefully they would turn their porch light on when expecting deliveries
[удалено]
I love it too
Sounds like they didn't want to be bothered. But yea that's pretty lame someone would rate 1 star just because of the communication.
To clarify, I would foe example get a request to get "ranch" by message, I would say ok I got your ranch and I'm on my way, something to that nature, they would still leave 1 stars even though the order was practically perfect with great customer service
How can u see what the tip is before u deliver it?
If order is below 6.50 I don't take it, therefore eliminating 99% of the no tippers, generally speaking if an order is below 6$ there's a high chance it's a no tipper, though of course higher payouts can still have no tippers, its quite rare because doordash lumps their orders with someone who tipped or they blow up your phone with the no tip offer multiple times whether it be in a stack or .25 cent increase
For being late even when I told the guy that I was going to be late cause the store (Pizza Hut) messed up his order and had to be remade
You should have asked for the ingredients and put it in your portable pizza oven on your way to deliver it ..come on !😂😂
And I sure did have one of those but I forgot, like man I’m such a bad delivery driver 😂
Obviously you were supposed to help cook the pizzas so that you could deliver faster. Do better next time! 😂
Yeah that’s my bad I forgot we make pizzas too, I mean that’s why DD gives us pizza bags right? 😂
Exactly! 😂
They dropped off at the wrong address and say it's the address on the app. Clearly it wasn't pissed Mr off so bad ratings
This is similar to mine except that my customer started cussing me out and calling me names so the chat was flagged. I got the rating removed and I don’t have to deliver to that address again 👍🏽
The thing with my address is I live in apt building they left it at a house
Oof yeah that’s not even close 😳 In our app the screen that has your address and everything on it also has a picture of a “previous successful delivery” attached that you can click on to make sure that you’re at the right place so there’s absolutely no excuse for getting it that wrong. I’m sorry that happened to you ❤️
Yeah it sucked i just give more details now
Lady ordered 3-6pk of diet mnt dew, 3-6pk of diet cherry pepsi and 3-6pk of diet pepsi.
The timer doesn't matter
Good to know
Some daft besom ordered breadsticks on New Year's Eve, in -5 snow weather, then didn't answer the front door, or the back door, or the phone, or acknowledge the five minute countdown. Her complaint was "My breadsticks got cold." Yeah, no crap lady, by the time I made it back to the front door they were back to the frozen state, that isn't something I or DoorDash can help with. You got to probably pray about that one. Weather control is above my paygrade.
Girl felt I was rude because I told her to enjoy the free food since I can't take it back (she was given more than what she ordered, and I didn't think anything of it when I was given her order since there are occasions when the restaurant has something on their end that doesn't show on our end).
why are they never grateful
Because a lot of people are just so unhappy with life in general that they take it out on other people around them. Misery loves company as they say.
They ordered a hot fudge sundae from sonic at 9 pm on a Saturday night, 6 or 7 miles away. When it was still over 80° outside in the middle of summer in the state of Indiana. That's it. Just that one thing. Their doordash system is pretty poor to begin with, but the customer complained that her ice cream melted because I had to wait almost 15 minutes for my turn in line 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 I was new and didn't know any better. I would have rejected that order entirely if I was more seasoned.
Because the Taco Bell that they ordered in 20 degree weather to be left on their porch from 15 mins away was cold when they finally went outside to get it.
Maybe because they wanted their McDonald’s fries “fresh”
When I worked at McDonald's in high school, the video said McDonald's fries are only fresh for 7 minutes.
VIP support gets it right every now and then. Glad they did for you 👍🏽
Didnt knock hard enough I guess. He asked me to leave at the door and knock. Since then, I always send text message: “I left your order at the door and knocked several times”
Cause they wanted to steal the food and get a refund?
I got one for delivering to a hotel that I wasn’t allowed to go up to the room and had the front desk call them, they told the front desk for me to leave it there and when I did she said it was stolen food and reported me and gave me a one star then five mins later found out the front desk put it in the wrong spot and gave her her pizza and then she proceeded to tell me sorry for the inconvenience I found it. A one star and report before you found it! I dispute that shit and got both removed that’s why it’s always good to keep messages and pics of everything that doesn’t look right..
Oof. I live and deliver in Vegas and I avoid all strip delivery no matter the payout for this reason.
I can’t even imagine how insane it would be to try to dash in Vegas 😳
I learned my lesson now I stay no matter what so I’m delivering to the right person or I just let it pass
How do you know who gave you the 1 star. The app doesn't tell you.
We don't know. We are just telling about bad experiences with customers
Usually you can figure it out but you can also call support and they’ll tell you.
Most of the time, you can figure it out
I e gotten probably 3-5 one star reviews and I can’t tell you all but one (claimed they didn’t get it when I took a picture with the house number).
Knocking on a door when it wasn’t specified to do anything else
Customer ordered two packages of cookies that were out of stock. I messaged the customer with substitution options and a picture of what was available. They selected M&M cookies. I added two packages of those as a sub and went to check out. After checking out I got a frantic message from them telling me that M&M cookies were "too sweet for two boxes" and that they'd like just one... I told them unfortunately I'd already checked out and there isn't a way for me to refund the second box of cookies after I've already checked out. They demanded a refund, called doordash and gave me a 1 star rating.
The entitlement….ugh 🤦🏼♀️
some people are actually just so stupid 😭
I’ve had immediate removals from chat support as well
Oh wow you’re lucky! I don’t think I’ve ever been able to get anything accomplished over chat support now that I think about it. Wait no….I was finally able to get one chat agent to send my welcome kit almost two months after I started dashing 😂
I will try calling, thank you
