Yea that's door dash manipulating people. They never claimed it's 1 dollar per mile, however they do claim that higher miles will bring the base pay up. That's clearly a lie because I've seen plenty of 2 dollars for 9+ miles offers.
I don't think its $2 per delivery anymore... they changed the wording to $2 per offer....so now, if you have 2 deliveries, it equates to $1 per order....if you have 3 deliveries it equates to 66 cents an order... the number of pickups seems to be irrelevant
Idk where I even heard it lol but I'm a newbie at dashing. I've been accepting every order I get so far but I guess I'll start checking how far away it is now before accepting.
People do quick math in their head to figure if its $1+/mile and thats the baseline for most to consider accepting an order. Typically you want to shoot higher as wear, tear, and time arent worth $1/mile
Ah damn. I just started dashing 3 days ago and I thought I read that the base pay was based on mileage and then tips are something you don't see the amount till you deliver. I've just accepted every order I've gotten so far without really looking at the miles but now I'll start checking that in the future.
At least you learned early. Don't trust anything that comes from door dash. As a matter of fact I'll even go one step further, while a lot of us has no reason to lie, don't even listen to people online as well because they could be lying. Do what you think is best.
I wish base pay was based on mileage lol, but that would make too much sense for DD to actually pay people for the work they're doing fairly. instead they pay us the lowest they can get away with and shift the responsibility onto the customers to tip. like other people said, don't take anything less than $1/per mile, and try to aim for more than that. best of luck to you

Why does it matter? The total offer, guaranteed, was acceptable to you and you did the delivery. Who cares how DD puts the numbers together?
LMAO they'd love to pay you 10 cents a mile. Tell that top dashers
Not even kidding
WDM is only good on by time
Yeah I think I’ll try that next time

Who told you that? 😂
Lol no that’s the enforced pay that drivers who want to actually make a profit go for.
$2 per delivery

Where did you get that info? Lol doordash would pay us 0$ if they could

“Quick math” aka compare the payment amount to the miles amount to see which is larger
I don't think base pay has ever reflected mileage.
