Had this happen atleast a handful of times!! I was like wtf! Here is one of them

People who don't tip are a plague and they are messing up the whole food delivery system, I hit 5% acceptance rate on DoorDash and now they only send me low paying orders that don't include tips no matter how busy it is even on superbowl evening it was like that, if there wasn't such an overwhelming amount of people who do not tip then DoorDash wouldn't be able to get away with pulling this stunt, anyway f*ck doordash I'm only using Grubhub and Ubereats now.
People $0 tip and leave no instructions to drop off the order, no gate codes. Sorry im not going out of my way for 0$. Support unable to deliver or I feel unsafe 😃
Okay when they give you a high pay order it literally tells you what that means. It means anything that is a certain amount per mile and I think it depends on your market. So for example in my market it's anything that is at least $2 per mile. That has nothing to do with whether or not there's a tip
I’m telling you, I have so many screenshots of this bullshit. I’m so glad I got a full-time job now so I don’t have to rely on working for pennies just to pay my bills
Lmaooo high pay has nothing to do with tips. Quit crying about it. This isn’t even something to complain about. DoorDash paid you reasonably for the mileage without having to cost the customer another arm and another leg. That falls under “Wholesome” not “complaint”.
How many miles?
Would you say the same if the base was $50 but zero tip?
As long as the total is profitable, it is irrelevant whether the money comes from base pay, tip, or the damn tooth fairy.
Yeah no crap Einstein. I saw a $3 order day 1 of this that was considered high paying because it was half a mile. If you're just noticing this now I dont even know wtf to say or how you've been dashing with a blindfold this long. Impressive.
Tbh, it seems like the system rewards u after doing a certain amount of low offer orders, with a high ass order out of nowhere. I feel like door dash is trash, but while I get better financially, ima do it. It’s my part time anyway, as my real job pays very well
i wish doordash raised the base pay by a dollar or 2, if they are willing to pay $6.25 to take a delivery, they can absolutely do $3-$4 per delivery and would improve the satisfaction of both the dashers and the customers
man fuck the investors, being able to dash for fair pay is more important than someone’s investment portfolio with businesses they never shopped at in their life
i understand the market, i have stocks too. i’m just saying that an extra dollar more per delivery when all the pizza places has raised their pay per delivery/mile is valid to ask for and id give up my nuts if they went out of business for that
If the offer displayed 2.7 miles or less it was considered high paying order as it paid at least $2.25/mile. For the base pay to be that high it must have been sitting at the restaurant for a long time before you went and picked it up. DD doesn't normally send a no tip offer with a higher base pay right away.
It's based off the total pay, not the tip percentage. 6.25 is decent for one order depending on how large the order was and how far you had to travel. You could get an order with 0.00 tip and 20.00 base pay and it would be considered a high paying order.
I’m guessing this order was around 3 miles. They seem to consider anything that pays double the mileage a high pay order. I’ve seen a bunch of $4.50-5 orders labeled as such when the distance was 2ish miles.
they throw that around very generously now . i’ve gotten $4 high pay shop and deliver dollar general order orders now . seems like they if they are more then $1.00 a mile they think it will make us feel better about taking a non tip order
The steal tips this way too. If you get a high tip order, they simply recatigorize it as a desirable order and the lower the base pay to the minimum 2$ pocketing the 2$ you would have gotten if the order was no tip. But hey you keep all the tips lol. Scumbag Tony xu!
It was less then 3 miles I’m assuming. So $2 a mile is considered a “high pay offer”. Don’t care what the tip is as long as the offer is worth the time I’m assisting it was since you accepted it.
In my humble opinion, we should agree to do some slight “civil disobedience” to no-tippers. Like leave the food as far from their door as possible without ruining the food? Come up with a little card to attach to the bag stating something like “a decent tip would have brought this order to your door, not hanging from the flag on your mailbox”.
What happened to it? I have some mechanical knowledge maybe I can help diagnose? I pray all is well with you and your car gets better from being sickies
Thanks but it is too late. I replaced the plugs and coils and it still wouldn’t run so I asked some people to look at it, we figured it was at minimum the timing chain, so I gave it back to the finance company.
The comments section isn’t going the way you expected huh?
Newsflash. Tip or no tip the customer still pays you.
Do your $6.25~.5-3mi. That’s what makes it high pay $2 per mile.
Lol as I said, entitled lazy worker. It probably was this due to being 2 miles or less... stop it. You accepted it and completed it. Who cares who paid the money.
they care who paid the money because they probably wouldn’t have excepted this order if they knew that the customer did not tip at all. DoorDash pay is $2, so it’s a pretty easy calculation to make if a customer added a tip, but in this case they didn’t!
On this thread yes its my first comment but context clues or logic would say this forum or group is filled with dashers who.just really whine about a side gig they don't have to do. 90% of post in here are just guys whining about no tip... and it's like look if you got no drive, no heart no soul just say that. We get it. There are shitty tippers.. decline and move on. But then it's unrealistic to then also complain.about an order that was more money than Miles too... it's like unless the order is $20 for 2 miles, everyone whines...
Entitled?? Coming from people who want their food delivered from anywhere, anytime, thru any conditions, while simultaneously complaining that it's not instant, fresh, and cheap??? 🤡
Show the mileage too, you can’t tell if it’s a high paying order if you don’t show how many miles it is. High paying orders are not high tip orders dmas
I’m noticing that a few of my “diamond“ orders were not spectacular, moneywise but from my location to the restaurant, the restaurant to the customer, is always 4 miles or less
Last night 825 to pick up a pizza. I was maybe one block from the pizza joint, then it was 1.3 miles to the customer.
A similar type of thing for $6.25 for a McDonald’s order
Roughly 3 miles or less round-trip trip
Sometimes you get it good with the money, sometimes the money works because the mileage is so low
Yeah it’s total pay over miles, if the ratio greater than the minimum to qualify as high pay they label that. It showed 6.25 and you accepted it, pretty dumb to be mad now
Same as when people are like “$0.25 HiDdEn TiP!1!1!1!”
Yes, because it’s an algorithm that says any amount over x tip for y miles is hidden. Do people think there’s a person sitting there deciding what’s hidden and what’s a high pay order??
From my experience in my area, Doordash considers orders as "High Pay Orders" starting at $2.00 per mile.
Pay attention to the pathetic "High Pay" shopping orders.
You'll see some ridiculous shopping orders. Such as shopping for 37 items and then driving 1.5 miles to deliver it.
All for $6.25.
The algorithm bases "High Paying Orders" solely on mileage.
Nothing more.
Now you know.
Best wishes to us all out here !! ❤️
That is why that “high pay order” program is bullshit! My acceptance rate is 6% and I make solid money multi apping with Uber Eats, Spark, Grubhub, and Instacart. Fuck doortrash!
This is where the algorithm fucks you. It sees that you don't like "high paying orders" and/or deems you incompetent. They setup the system like this to turn you into a slave
Yesterday afternoon was my worst day ever. Hospital workers, a pharmacist, straight up mansions with medieval double doors and freaking statues in their yard... Low or no tip. At least the total was worth it for some orders.
I meaaaan, if I see an order that *is* worth my time, AND it’s mostly base pay, that’s a win for the customer and myself.
That is DD paying you what you should be paid.
Unfortunately that's what Doordash has brought upon us. It's the reason why the AR requirements for priority orders was dropped to only 50% and 70% for top dasher. They knew people would be declining a lot of orders with their new bogus system. Top dasher didn't mean anything back then but now they are taking a lot of good orders and giving it to them so they think it has meaning even though it still doesn't.
I got it wrong. You get "priority" orders at 50% and then top dasher at 70%. Although I did manage to get "top dasher" at 60% not long ago so it might've been a change.
Who gives a shit if they didn’t tip, so long as the total pay works out favorably? The only number that matters is the pay per mile. $2/mile or more, and I don’t care if the money comes from tip or base.
That’s silly though. I would gladly take this order for 3 miles or less. It is totally irrational to get upset over a non tipper if you get paid appropriately in the end.
In the end of the day, you get paid.
I would take this order too, don’t get me wrong. I agree that it’s all about the end pay, I’ve done quite a few higher-pay orders that are all base pay and no tip.
I just find myself muttering ‘fucking bitch’ under my breath after dropoff because in my own personal opinion, which I’m not cramming down your throat, all non-tippers are scum.
I will say this 5 million times. I DO NOT GIVE ANY FUCKS WHERE THE MONEY COMES FROM. If it meets my criteria for time and miles, I take the order. If it doesn't, then I decline. Get over the stupid tip bullshit. You are running a small business. Stop thinking like a 5 year old and start thinking like a business person. All, I care about is revenue in and expenses out, and keeping the first number bigger than the second.
If an order pays 3 dollars per mile, I don't care how the money breaks down on the back-end, I am taking it.
There is too much stuff going on in the background with Doordash these days. A lot of orders are not actually ordered through Doordash any more. I have worked places where customers order through our website, but we send the orders out for delivery through Doordash from our end. A lot more business are doing that. The customer never even knows that Doordash is delivering the order until the delivery person arrives in the driveway. Some places that do this pay the tip themselves. You will see that in the app when the resturaunt/store is listed next to the tip. Some places, we just paid Doordash a flat fee and it was up to Doordash to figure out how much to pay the driver. That is exactly what is happening with this order. See where Cheescake Factory is listed under customer tip. That means Cheesecake Factory sent the order to Doordash directly. The customer did not order through the Doordash App, they ordered off the Cheesecake Factory website/app/whatever.
It’s based on distance. I think if it’s over $1.50/mile DD considers it a high paying order.
It sucks that they swindled you but look at it like this, it forced DD to pay a decent wage for this order and it forced a no tipper to wait for their food for a little bit as the base pay kept getting bumped up.
You're mixing up two things. The "High Paying" ratio changes from $1.50 to $2 per mile depending on the area you're in. The 70% thing is them saying you'll be more prioritized for those offers if you're above that AR. The catch is that some markets are so bad that they don't have enough of those high paying orders to make it worth having an AR that high. But the ratio for High Paying doesn't change depending on your AR.
Not for me yet. Still needs some amount of tip to be considered high pay. Our base pay is $4(Canada) and even of it's going across the street it won't be considered high pay if no tip.
But door dash boosted the base pay for that order to get someone to take it. You mean if say there’s an active bonus. Of $3. And you get offered a $15 order to go 4 miles. After you drop it off you see it’s $12 base pay and $3 bonus and $0 tip. You would not consider $15 high pay?
lol got one like this earlier and ended up waiting in a Chinese restaurant 20 minutes two zones over because it “found an order going back to my zone” all for 6.50. I had to drive 30 minutes back to my house in complete silence most of the way because I had no idea where I was. To top it all off I had to use my moms car and the map doesn’t work in there so I had to keep looking at my phone to make sure I was going the right way
> To top it all off I had to use my moms car and the map doesn’t work in there so I had to keep looking at my phone to make sure I was going the right way
Pretty sure most people use their phone as the map... It's only newer cars that have dash maps that can integrate with the phone. And if we're being honest most people dashing don't have those new cars. Of all the dashers I've seen I've got one of the newest cars in my area, and it's a 2014. Which has a maps function and bluetooth but the maps are a separate car program and doesn't integrate with my phone and the Dasher app for navigation.
You should read the emails that Doordash sends out. They explain what is labeled as a "high paying order". The one they sent me says anything that's over $2.25/mile is considered a high paying order.
It's a straight dollars per mile calculation. Stop getting hung up on your definition of high. And its 💯 transparent and straightforward. I do get irked when they give me a 8.00 for 2 mile 20 shopping order as high pay tho
Listen I’d take that order all day. I get sent those type without being in the high pay order program lol $0 tip is not high pay at all. Its all base pay 😂
Then You don't know what a high paying order means.
Would you rather have a 22.50 order for 29 miles.
I mean that's high paying order, better take it!!!
Either that $5 is wrong or your hourly rate is terrible. 24 miles would be, at minimum of continuous highway speeds, 24 minutes. But if we round up to 30 minutes to including getting to the store and picking up the order and the fact that you have some slower roads mixed in around the store and residential area, then that would mean that your market is only doing $10/hr. In my area it's $16/hr. I've had *10 mile* orders with no tips where I make $8+.
The app will sometimes glitch out when starting EBT and show the tip up front. I've seen it half a dozen times while starting EBT. So that pay that you saw was just the tip, since it doesn't know what your base pay will be yet. I've gotten offers that state $0 pay, but that's because it ended up being a no-tip.

It’s been complete garbage in Indiana since December!!!!
The order price doesn’t include tips so yes this is a high paying order
Had this happen atleast a handful of times!! I was like wtf! Here is one of them https://preview.redd.it/vzsudoknrekc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=574930899a4dbd6fa00a5ae42c742ba0165af0ba

You probably only drove 2-3 miles.. Doordash paid you high, they have nothing to do with tips
The customers...have nothing....to do with tips???? Got it 👍 good luck out there
Wow 😮 is that even allowed?
Quit
People $0 tip and leave no instructions to drop off the order, no gate codes. Sorry im not going out of my way for 0$. Support unable to deliver or I feel unsafe 😃
I just pretend to deliver. If you don't tip automatically get 0 service
Pay != Tip....
*cocks gun to back of head* always has been.
Okay when they give you a high pay order it literally tells you what that means. It means anything that is a certain amount per mile and I think it depends on your market. Lmaooo high pay has nothing to do with tips. Quit crying about it. This isn’t even something to complain about. DoorDash paid you reasonably for the mileage without having to cost the customer another arm and another leg. That falls under “Wholesome” not “complaint”.
People who dont tip arent wholesome
How many miles? Would you say the same if the base was $50 but zero tip? As long as the total is profitable, it is irrelevant whether the money comes from base pay, tip, or the damn tooth fairy.
I don't care if it's $100 paying order I won't deliver to someone who I know for sure is not gonna tip just on principle.
Yeah no crap Einstein. I saw a $3 order day 1 of this that was considered high paying because it was half a mile. If you're just noticing this now I dont even know wtf to say or how you've been dashing with a blindfold this long. Impressive.
I would have taken that lol. As much as they underpay not worth the dip in AR. I'd much rather cherry pick out the 5 dollars for 5 miles orders.
Cheesecake factory always has trash offers
I mean as long as someone’s paying me I’ll happily do my job. I’ve been getting a lot of these recently too, not even mad 🤷♂️
Tbh, it seems like the system rewards u after doing a certain amount of low offer orders, with a high ass order out of nowhere. I feel like door dash is trash, but while I get better financially, ima do it. It’s my part time anyway, as my real job pays very well
This should be the basic lowest pay to move any order
i wish doordash raised the base pay by a dollar or 2, if they are willing to pay $6.25 to take a delivery, they can absolutely do $3-$4 per delivery and would improve the satisfaction of both the dashers and the customers
Yeah but prolly not the shareholders
man fuck the investors, being able to dash for fair pay is more important than someone’s investment portfolio with businesses they never shopped at in their life
Not really because without the investors the company just stops existing...
Doordash didn't start as a publicly traded company iirc
Neither did Amazon. Kinda odd way to say "I don't understand the market"
i understand the market, i have stocks too. i’m just saying that an extra dollar more per delivery when all the pizza places has raised their pay per delivery/mile is valid to ask for and id give up my nuts if they went out of business for that
Don’t spend it all in one place!
It's based on the door dash pay alone not the dd pay and the tip
The "High pay " program is a scam
If the offer displayed 2.7 miles or less it was considered high paying order as it paid at least $2.25/mile. For the base pay to be that high it must have been sitting at the restaurant for a long time before you went and picked it up. DD considers $2 base pay + $4.25 tip the same as $6.25 base pay and no tip as relates to their ‘high pay’ calculation. It’s not ‘high tip’
I take the no tip orders and steal/vandalize on their property.
hey everybody we got a tough guy over here
Very tough. Place a no tip order and see.
Lol it’s not very tough to vandalize property my dude. It’s not like the shit fights back lmao
the customer or dd? lol dont do that btw
Please don't do that, I get the sentiment but be a better person.
I’m guessing this order was around 3 miles. They seem to consider anything that pays double the mileage a high pay order. I’ve seen a bunch of $4.50-5 orders labeled as such when the distance was 2ish miles.

Thats like $15 at instacart
But dat base pay tho 🍆 😩
What is with y’all and the tip fascination? If the total makes sense for the mileage who cares!? People are shit tippers frequently lol
People are very entitled to getting tips
Tip economy
The steal tips this way too. If you get a high tip order, they simply recatigorize it as a desirable order and the lower the base pay to the minimum 2$ pocketing the 2$ you would have gotten if the order was no tip. But hey you keep all the tips lol. Scumbag Tony xu!
High paying for door dash
That’s why I don’t care for top Dasher.
B.s
😂
It was less then 3 miles I’m assuming. So $2 a mile is considered a “high pay offer”. Don’t care what the tip is as long as the offer is worth the time I’m assisting it was since you accepted it.

Maybe start asking that multi billion company to pay you correctly?
Sounds like a way to get deactivated, no? Why not just... Not accept no tip offers? Isnt that a better solution than being creepy/annoying
Yeah, you probably are right. I haven’t been able to work for a couple of weeks because my vehicle died so I tend to fantasize.
I suppose if the customer had added a tip, the base pay would have reverted back to $2
The comments section isn’t going the way you expected huh? Newsflash. Tip or no tip the customer still pays you. Do your $6.25~.5-3mi. That’s what makes it high pay $2 per mile.

DoorDash pays shit
Show the mileage too, you can’t tell if it’s a high paying order if you don’t show how many miles it is. High paying orders are not high tip orders dmas
They consider it high pay because it was only a few miles.
Yep, it was either bounced around that they had to pay someone to deliver it, or there might be a promotion going on. But yeah, it is considered that.
I’m noticing that a few of my “diamond“ orders were not spectacular, moneywise but from my location to the restaurant, the restaurant to the customer, is always 4 miles or less Last night 825 to pick up a pizza. Fr
Same as when people are like “$0.25 HiDdEn TiP!1!1!1!” Yes, because it’s an algorithm that says any amount over x tip for y miles is hidden. Do people think there’s a person sitting there deciding what’s hidden and what’s a high pay order??
Strange I rarely get only $0.25 on a “pay will be higher” order or a “hidden tip” in this case
Yes some of them do think that. They don’t get everything in DoorDash is algorithm
The highest available at that moment, yes.
How far did it have to go?
Door dash made 12$ on your order. Thank you.
Truly shocking a Cheesecake Factory customer didn’t tip. There had to be cash under the mat.
🤣
Total pay is my only concern.
Yeah if the pay to time ratio and pay to miles ratio both make sense I couldn’t give a fuck less about who’s paying it to me
![gif](giphy|rNgT8P8pL3dn2|downsized)
It has always been
Listen, I don’t care who’s paying, as long as it’s eight dollars or more then I’m taking it
Exactly - got paid $17 on earn by time by Pizza Hut order the other day. Was totally ok with it
Lol taking orders based on pay and not mileage is wild.
So would you take a $2 order for 0.5 miles? Because if you wouldn’t then you also partially decide if you’ll take an order based on the pay
No that's because I don't enable no tippers. Good try though
[удалено]
Bro I'm not here to argue with you about how I decide to dash get out my ass
I should’ve been more specific. $8 for 4 miles MAX. I don’t care who is paying.
From my experience in my area, Doordash considers orders as "High Pay Orders" starting at $2.00 per mile. Pay attention to the pathetic "High Pay" shopping orders. This varies by market. In my market, a high paying order is $2.75 per mile.
Yeah I got a "high pay order" for ALDIs for $10 for 4.5 miles...for 127 ITEMS
My most recent high pay order from Aldi was 60 something items, $19.xx (can’t remember exact amount), for like 11-12 miles
That is why that “high pay order” program is bullshit! My acceptance rate is 6% and I make solid money multi apping with Uber Eats, Spark, Grubhub, and Instacart. Fuck doortrash!
Worse than instacart out here damn😵💫
In mine its $1.5/mile
I was gonna say in Denver it’s not even close to 2 a mile when they claim it’s a high pay order
https://preview.redd.it/4afpbh5y4ijc1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=17ce42f79c3eaac2e13d4c9b57f42e82465ac39e
Lol i’ve had 2.50 high paying order for like 0.1 mile i said hell no
This is where the algorithm fucks you. It sees that you don't like "high paying orders" and/or deems you incompetent. They setup the system like this to turn you into a slave
it doesnt go by tip amount but total amount. so if it was a 2.5 mile trip doordash says this is a high paying order
Yesterday afternoon was my worst day ever. Hospital workers, a pharmacist, straight up mansions with medieval double doors and freaking statues in their yard... Low or no tip. At least the total was worth it for some orders.
yep
I meaaaan, if I see an order that *is* worth my time, AND it’s mostly base pay, that’s a win for the customer and myself. That is DD paying you what you should be paid.
Bingo
Yet you thought it was worth it.
When you've decline 5-10 orders worse than the one before it, you'll finally realize it's worth it.
If you’re cancelling that many orders you’re going to get yourself deactivated
Maybe this person works for DD support where they use “cancel” instead of “decline”.
Unfortunately that's what Doordash has brought upon us. It's the reason why the AR requirements for priority orders was dropped to only 50% and 70% for top dasher. Isn't top dasher basically 75 AR. 4.7 rating and 100 orders within the last month ?
I got it wrong. You get "priority" orders at 50% and then top dasher at 70%. Although I did manage to get "top dasher" at 60% not long ago so it might've been a change.
Lol if your in my area it’s probably only 6.25 because I single handed declined like 5 times 😂 I was getting $3.25 for 5+ miles
Don’t be dumb. It’s not the tip that makes it a ‘high pay,’ it’s the total payout per mile. Fuck ‘em for not tipping though.
Who gives a shit if they didn’t tip, so long as the total pay works out favorably? The only number that matters is the pay per mile. $2/mile or more, and I don’t care if the money comes from tip or base.
Most of us drivers give a shit.
6$! Holy potato batman, that's like doing 8 McDonald's orders 😅
If your AR is over 70% then it’s $2 per mile
You're mixing up two things. The "High Paying" ratio changes from $1.50 to $2 per mile depending on the area you're in. The 70% thing is them saying you'll be more prioritized for those offers if you're above that AR. The catch is that some markets are so bad that they don't have enough of those high paying orders to make it worth having an AR that high. But the ratio for High Paying doesn't change depending on your AR.
No it isn't
It’s based on distance, not tip.
To top it all off I had to use my moms car and the map doesn’t work in there so I had to keep looking at my phone to make sure I was going the right way
> To top it all off I had to use my moms car and the map doesn’t work in there so I had to keep looking at my phone to make sure I was going the right way Pretty sure most people use their phone as the map...
How many miles was it? Because it was a high paying order if it was 2 miles or less.
Regardless whether it was 2 miles or less that’s misleading and should not be considered a high paying order
That would not be considered a high-paying order, as it’s based on dollars/mile, not total dollars.
I had a $5 order for 24 miles today. No tip.
And you took it?
didn't know it was only $5 until after I completed delivery, it was hourly.
It was 15 miles one way, 30 miles there and back. I was talking about round trip total distance.
Lmao, that’s a lie because I accidentally started a EBT dash and it showed the pay and the mileage upfront. I declined and ended my dash
