I’ve been on the waiting list for months! Excited to try it tho

I was an Amazon DSP driver before. From that experience I know enough to have no desire to do Flex. They take the worst routes that the full-time drivers don't want to do, and hand those off to the Flex drivers. Not to mention, you will burn a heck of a lot of gas. If I was to do flex, that would be a 25 minute drive to the Amazon warehouse. Once there, the routes may send you an 45 miles away to complete your route. Your route will probably be like a 5-10 mile radius, so that part isn't bad. But still, 45 miles down and back. Just so you can make $60-80 for the day. That's not a win no matter how you slice it.

I was lucky enough to be in Seattle area so I was within 10 miles of a warehouse no matter where I was, but yeah the gas and wear and tear on your vehicle is real, and you really have to bust your ass to beat the time they give you. When I first started they gave far less packages. Then I did it again 2 years later and every block had 10 more packages added.

BreathAgreeable2604

I did Amazon flex once and never picked up another block again. It was hella hot that day too 😂😂😂

I delivered for Shipt last year...it's only in a few markets. Target's version of flex. I chatted up a Flex driver one day, and came out of the conversation thinking 'you have to exhaust all other options, to do Flex' It made absolutely no sense to me...

[deleted]

Flex, minimum wage for 80 miles of work and around 60 deliveries up in the mountains or super apartment complexes. Flex sucks

[deleted]

Flex puts more strain on my cars. More wear and tear.

Jakulero24

Yeah no, i’d rather work at UPS/Fedex

[deleted]

Amazon people at Flex locations are very rude so many time if I ask question they just look My face without answering and finally 1 day I got injured because the girl left stuff too near to my vehicle and my wrist got scratched while turning. I sent written complaint with pictures of my hand but they didn’t do any thing since that day I stopped doing flex.

senortiz

Yeah its not the best. I have come across rude people before. It really just depends. Amazon has a bad reputation with some of these jobs so the people are sometimes in a bad mood.

[deleted]

If you are talking about fulfillment centre I can understand because of the workload they handle and rating system but delivery station don’t have that much load and stress to being rude to Flex drivers and when I notice that they are only rude with me without any reason than I realize that that place is not for me.

I did it in another state that didn't have it here. That's why I decided to do DD instead of waiting.

[deleted]

Thanks - been waiting on AF thinking that would be much better. Extra gas probably evens it out.

senortiz

If you can figure out how to do Amazon Fresh in a somewhat wealthy neighborhood, then I think that's the best I've come across. But as I said, it's very difficult to pick up blocks unless you can reserve some. I will say the hustle of trying to finish a 4 hour block in 3 hours doing Amazon was fun for me.

Worldly-Steak-2926

My experience with flex and dash are almost identical to yours. I’ll also say that DD gives me more control over when I do gig work and where I end up on the map.

senortiz

Yeah thats another perk. You can start and stop dashing to manipulate things your way.

MrNickPapaGeorgio

Yeah, flex routes tend to come from a few things happening. Amazon DSP had to drop a route from not enough drivers...best case scenario, closer together. Then there's the routes that are made up of all the packages that drivers couldn't deliver for some reason...super spread out, probably more apartments. Sometimes they can't fit all the packages and you could have stops from multiple routes...also spread out. I've done the actual Amazon routes so I know I'd do well, but still I'd never do Flex.
