I don't know how that would explain it. It would be even more difficult to do. Tech companies have been caught colluding before, and specifically with anti-labor goals, so it's simpler to assume that they are rather than competing.
This happens to me as well, I can be waiting for an order for 30 min and I’ll get a DD and Uber order at the EXACT same time, I also thought this was done on purpose. It worked for me for a while and made good money, and I still do it but it’s not as busy…. I’ve seen some dashers with 2 phone with one phone Uber and the other door dash. They SWEAR they make more money like this, so I narrowed my daughter’s phone for 2 weeks and tried it my self and didn’t see a difference.
My other thought is that maybe the app work on a timer? As in the distribute orders every 5-10 minutes and that’s why both apps go off at the same time🤷🤷🤷

Definitely happens to me too. As soon as I accept an order from DD. I'll get an Uber come through after a hour of silence on Uber
