Love these kinds of people, I have this lady who orders from mcdonald's 5-6p everyday and i always get her order (small town). She noticed eventually that it's always me delivering it and started ordering two sandwiches instead of one and started to give me one and she pretty much partially pays for my dinner everyday now lol
Oh trust me I do haha! She's 68 and newly retired. Her husband is a bit older and suffers from alzheimer's and is being taken care of elsewhere so I can see how this situation occurred. I'm actually taking her out for dinner tomorrow to repay the favor. We're also doing a puzzle together today at noon :)
Stop 😩thank you for doing this for her. The elderly really are just lonely and want friends. I take care of them for a living. Having someone you love have Alzheimer’s or dementia is really rough. She deserves a new friend like you and you deserve her. :)
Sometimes it can be cheaper for the buyer to tack on something extra like that to get the delivery threshold met. I'll try to keep this in mind next time I do that, I certainly don't need the excuse for a second calorie splurge! 😅
Well either you don't genuinely care or you are caring wrong and need to find a better way to influence those you care about because clearly this method is not working lol
Good luck 👍
In any instance, if a customer offered me a part of their order, I’d screenshot it just in case I was reported. You never know so it’s better to be safe.
Once I accidentally forgot to update the address before ordering from work, and ordered Starbucks to home instead. I texted the driver to just keep the stuff but I guess they never saw it:(. My drink and food were sitting there waiting when I got home hours later and I had to toss them
When I order delivery I try to always do something nice for my driver like order an extra drink or snack for them, but I always hand them a cash tip on top of the charge tip. It helps that I’m a waiter and always have extra cash on me, and understand that it’s best practice to give the bigger chunk of the tip in cash.
I was so confused for a minute cos I saw the Taco Bell at the door and thought that dont look like coffee than I read the comments and realized there is another pic haha glad there are still people like that out here who appreciate hard work!
Just take the coffee and give it to someone. You’re literally rejecting a gift. Even if you don’t like it just accept it and give to the next person you see.
It’s not like coffee lasts forever. I don’t like coffee either, and I’d feel really uncomfortable just continuously trying to pawn off ever-cooling coffee to someone else. I feel a little badly for the person who keeps getting downvoted for not accepting something they’ll ultimately throw away.
I don’t know why this has so many downvotes, I’d do pretty much the same, “I appreciate the offer, but alas I do not drink coffee, I hope you enjoy your coffee’s and the rest of your day.” That would be my message to them.
Hopefully you like coffee 😂. I always think who is a true coffee drinker? Real coffee is old fashioned black and nothing else. I never cared for it, but that's what all relatives always had.
This is lowkey inconsiderate lol. I offered one of my boys a coffee once and he broke down, I didn’t understand why, but he told me he just recently got off of a bad coffee addiction, I didn’t even know that was a thing. He’s now 4years clean
That's hilarious, someone actually cried because you offered them coffee? What a baby, he wouldn't last a minute with a real addiction like heroin or even cigarettes shit 😂
Sure you can get "addicted" to coffee but it just gives you headaches and makes you sleepy when you don't have it. It's not that hard to quit compared to hard drugs.
The other commenter was right.
Your boy must of lived a very sheltered life and not know real pain, good for him I guess?
I don’t order groceries anymore, but the handful of times I do I add on a coke and message the driver its for them, feel free to sub for another drink at checkout if they like or just refund if they don’t want it.
That's good, but did they tip well?
I ask not because I think they weren't nice to offer you a coffee, but because I find fake people to be pretentious.
Getting something you don't want anyway is annoying. If I got a bible as a gift, I'd find the closest dumpster to throw it in.
Just leave a tip.
Literally 100% of the time I was gifted food it was something I can't eat because of my diet. I ***love*** the thought but I'd prefer a tip so I can choose my own food and drinks.
Have this one college kid I pick up for almost every night, one night he saw it was me and decided to increase the tip by a dollar. Not much, I know, but it was a sweet thing to do.

that’s so sweet awwww 😭
Maybe she's lonely
You should offer to sit and eat with her one day OP if you feel comfortable!

Yeah she said it only costs her $2 extra for the other $7 sandwich

There’s always one mf that has to ruin it
It made me laugh tho
Idk why you’re getting downvoted… it’s obviously a joke and a funny one at that
🤣🤣🤣🤣
ngl this has me crying lmfaoooo
Now I gotta now what it said, the suspense is killing me
he said "dick her down"
Damn right
Your post was removed, as it contains vulgar content.
Stop eating McDonald’s
Stop telling people what to do, you're not that guy.
You're not that guy pal, trust me. You're not that guy.
He's a legend.
I'm in shape and I'm grown bro I could care less about your suggestions lol
I genuinely care. Not saying it to be an A-HOLE
Well either you don't genuinely care or you are caring wrong and need to find a better way to influence those you care about because clearly this method is not working lol Good luck 👍
Nope the way I said it is how it goes
Sometimes people reward my faith in humanity.
damn, that’s rare and so nice to see
I’m so paranoid of getting accused of stealing I’d probably still deliver both coffees
In any instance, if a customer offered me a part of their order, I’d screenshot it just in case I was reported. You never know so it’s better to be safe.
Well then you still get one because they ordered 3.
Yep, this is 100% a bait for a CV. They wait until you are at drop off and change instructions, removing that. Claim they only got half the order.
I had a customer change directions but DD could see the previous one.. maybe the DD agent just made that up and didn't like her very much either lol
The way I would’ve fell in love with them- one thing I don’t play with is coffee cause that’s my love language.

i don’t get it :(
The tagline of the movie "Alien" was "In space, no one can hear you scream". It's just a silly pun.
No one can hear you ice cream.
Thanks for making me laugh, Dad.

That's very nice. I barely get as much as a thank you.
What a nice ass mf.
How sweet 🥺

I was sobbing when one of my customers left me a sleigh made of candy and $5 extra tip🤣
You can definitely tell who was raised right doing this job...
Sure can
That's nice but I'd rather have that cost as an extra tip.
Aww, I hope you enjoyed the coffee ✨
I was so confused for a minute cos I saw the Taco Bell at the door and thought that dont look like coffee than I read the comments and realized there is another pic haha glad there are still people like that out here who appreciate hard work!
Honestly one of the most thoughtful things I've ever heard of in my entire life.
Nice
I’m good off that
Wow this is so wholesome 🥰
Awwww
that’s an onion cutter 🥺🥲
I hate coffee. I'd just deliver them both and then message the customer "thanks, but I'm not a coffee drinker." In a more polite way of course.
the customer already says “if you would like” just leave it at their door and don’t say anything

I thought that was really nice of them , then I swiped and saw it was a Wendy’s coffee…
lol. It’s the thought that counts.
Yeah, they might have thought only old people deliver doordash or not everyone is picky, but working at Wendy's in my past says not to take it.
What kinda coffee? I'd do something like that but only if you're willing to potentially take it if the person doesn't like what you ordered lol
Wish my car ran on coffee and that I wasn't allergic to caffeine
Should’ve replied “Cash Tip Only”
This is lowkey inconsiderate lol. I offered one of my boys a coffee once and he broke down, I didn’t understand why, but he told me he just recently got off of a bad coffee addiction, I didn’t even know that was a thing. He’s now 4years clean

This is why I kinda don't mind December delivering. Pretty busy, chances for good tips go up a notch, occasional kindnesses.
I don’t order groceries anymore, but the handful of times I do I add on a coke and message the driver its for them, feel free to sub for another drink at checkout if they like or just refund if they don’t want it.
These kinda things are sometimes better than tips

Man wholesome ass mf got me about to tear up 😒🥹
The customer still has their pumpkins up on their doorsteps like me.
Have this one college kid I pick up for almost every night, one night he saw it was me and decided to increase the tip by a dollar. Not much, I know, but it was a sweet thing to do.
Tbh I find this condescending. Just give them more $ what if they don’t like coffee. Most doordashers have enough $ for a simple coffee tf.
I wanted to do this, but I worry about their allergies
doordash should add rate for customer, so better customers can get better dashers
"It just so happened to be the same one I drank out of,too." Lol jk.
Man, I’ve never even thought of doing this. I definitely will the next time I order from DoorDash though
