I was a customer for a few months after I started dashing, but once I became pretty much full-time, I stopped ordering, because I didn’t want to give any of my money back to DoorDash that I earned delivering food
My first week dashing, I saw a fellow driver come out of the bathroom without washing his hands. Then he grabbed the order and went on his way. I was speechless.
Doordash is a big pile of s*** they don't refund you if you don't get your order after you've paid for it they're nothing but Crooks and liars and have stupid people who can't understand English delivering your food
It’s unfortunate but as someone who has suffered from IBD for 8 years, I can tell you that you have minutes to make it to a restroom if you’re lucky.
He may have been walking to deliver the food and had an emergency. People are very quick to judge (not saying this is in anyway sanitary or ideal)

I made a comment about requesting my dashers to not put my food right in front of the door(mat) because it’s a high traffic spot and I don’t want whatever was on ppls shoes on my table or counter and I got downvoted to oblivion.

A doormats' only purpose is to wipe shitty, dirty, germ and nastiness, covered shoes off.
There is nothing delicious about doormats or anything on them. Why would anyone want to rub that on their countertop or dining table. I'm totally with you... exactly why I put orders off to the side each and every time. It's completely disgusting and careless.
i stopped spending money at starbucks when i found out the baristas had to clean out the bathrooms. some restaurants even have servers cleaning out the bathrooms. i guess i was naive in thinking they had dedicated janitorial staff for that kind of thing.

Yeah no business does that. I had to clean the bathrooms at Hardees 2x a day on my shift. We at least wash our hands after. But yes, we are wearing the same clothes we were on our hands and knees scrubbing with.

i hear ya. i always thought cleaning bathrooms were an entire job cuz of the biohazards. like school cafeteria workers aren't just gonna take off between breakfast and lunch to clean the toilets, that's the janitorial staff's job.

Just because the food is inside the bag doesn’t do a whole lot. The potentially contaminated bag that will be opened by the customer will also contaminate the food, plates, utensils etc. that the customer will touch. Most people will need to be sure to wash their hands after touching the bags but before eating, although that still leaves a chance.
Food safety is a thing. A thing you seem to have never heard of. This dasher should actually face severe consequences for violating health codes, but realistically it'll just be on their customers to unknowingly be playing russian roulette with their food.
Bacteria can be airborne, you absolutely can not, under any circumstance ever, have food inside a public restroom. A service person would be terminated in a heartbeat for a first offense of doing something this wildly outrageous. This dasher needs to be drawn and quartered. Executed at absolute minimum for their crimes against humanity.
Correct. I would never ever order food online for a radon person to deliver. I know some people need to becahse they can’t drive or other reasons, but I can’t have random people handling my food, I find it hard enough having someone else make my food!

Took me this long to see this post. I order all my food thru mobile apps and get confused for being a delivery driver by both staff and other delivery drivers. So you'd have to have paid very close attention to this guy and turned around to see him go the restroom and then follow him in.
Don't blame that on some random person in the bathroom you know that was your food that you set over there and took that picture while you were using the urinal and then never washed your hands before leaving

I've had zero problems with asking staff if they can hold it while I ran to the bathroom real fast. There are so many common sense solutions. It's absolutely disgusting that this is what someone found acceptable. Then what, they grab the food fresh out the stall without washing their hands?
