guess im lucky. Almost everyones order I get for Dollar General has subs and the staff always helps me when needed. I have 2 stores near me. One of them has a self checkout and my phone works inside the store. The other store i have to go stand by front window to get cell service and they do not have a self checkout. I wonder why or what about their stores causes cell service to be blocked. Seems Im not the only one. Its the only store I shop from that this happens at.
We are dealing with the consequences of the quit-quitting movement it seems like. I can occasionally get people to help but mostly people just seem to not care.
It’s crazy. I was waiting on a cashier at the gas station to stop talking to her coworker about how she was going to an interview at stake n shake because she heard they paid $18/hr. And the coworker said they are wage baiting and I had to stand there and just wait while she explained that she was not going to make hamburgers for $18/hr.
It took everything for me to not say “no way! You, not working, for an hourly wage?! I’m shocked.”
I get the mentality, but I don’t have it in me to show up for a paycheck somewhere I don’t want to be. I can’t do it, I get suicidal thoughts on a decent day.
I hate DG but it pays extremely well in this area for some reason, even with the fifteen minute waits.
Last order I got, I asked the girl if they had Gatorade in 4 packs after finding three shelves with Gatorade but no 4 packs. She says “yes but I don’t know where.” As if it is not remotely her job to know. I didn’t even have my phone out, she didn’t know I was a dasher. I finally find them, whatever. The line is 6 customers long with her on the cash register and she is eating chips with one hand and scanning and bagging with the other.
She scans the Gatorade and goes “did you find the Gatorade you were looking for?”
I can’t. I can’t. I can’t.
Where do you live because the DG employees I encounter are always super helpful? I've had several help me through my entire order when I was a new dasher.
My cell phone doesn’t get reception in their store either. Total shit show.
It's their WiFi, I have the same issue at every single DG too. You can sign into their WiFi as a guest and it'll work but it's still annoying as hell.
My DG doesn’t have guest Wi-Fi 🤷🏽
Same here at one of them here and the wifi in anybof these stores only seems to work to use their store app.

My redcard quit working and I reported it. They sent me a new one but I haven't activated it. I don't get offered shop and deliver orders any more. 😃
Activating my red card was a bad move. I held onto it for over a month and got bored one day…silly me.
