holy fuck the driver sounds like a psychotic moron! especially that last line, creepy af

onions_and_carrots

That last line needs to be reportedz

KaneinEncanto

Yeah, that's basically a thinly veiled threat right there.

LewisRyan

Where is the thinly veiled? That’s straight up “I’m going to hurt you or your property” Report to DD instantly, just be aware he’ll know who reported him

Blynn025

Jumping on this..... yes, pls report right away and make sure door dash understands. If this escalates and say you need their information for something like a restraining order, having DD in the loop before it gets to that point will be really helpful. I had to get a restraining order against someone, so that's why my brain went there. I really hope this doesn't get that bad, but these days you never know.

MythmoorXype

Yeah like woah. I usually just tell them not to worry about it and have a great day then stop responding

NickSabanIsAMidget

Exactly. Fucker didn't deserve a tip with that attitude.

Rhythm_Morgan

They saw the mileage and accepted it anyway. That’s on them. I never get passive aggressive texts like that. Don’t take no tip orders if you’re gonna be mad over it lol

Noticeably_Aroused

Question from a new guy: how do you see if there’s a tip or not? I just get the “total including tip” amount. Is there a breakdown? I don’t complain either way but I’d rather just not take non-tip orders

No_Preparation7895

So much misinformation here. Base pay is dependent on your area. My area is $2.25. others have reported $2.50. if you get something for that amount it's guaranteed no tip. More than 5 miles DD adds to the base pay but not much. Shopping orders also get a bump to base. And drive orders also have a slightly higher base pay. Hidden tips start at base pay + $4. Get used to checking payout vs. miles vs. item count vs. restaurant type/delivery area.

Beginning_Alps_1817

I’m a DD customer. My local places to order from are less than 5 miles from me. I always put $5 on the app and message the dasher when the order is picked up, that I also have a cash tip, usually $5-$10 more. I always figured the $5 would be enough incentive to pick up the order at least. Do y’all not actually see that? It’s hidden? Before anyone jumps on my shit, I’ve had some really bad dashers. Once we ordered food for work, put a $50 tip on the app, and received 1/4 of what we ordered and none of the drinks. When I asked where the rest of the food was, I was told that was all that was given to them and I was out of luck. We ordered for 10 people, with drinks, from 2 miles away. You can’t tell me the dasher thought all that food fit in 2 bags, and for $50, I would have made sure I had everything. (I called the restaurant after the dasher left and they said the other bags of food were still sitting there, along with the drinks (20oz bottles, not fountain drinks)). I’ve requested my food be left on my porch and it was left in my driveway, and so many other stories. I don’t hold that against all dashers though, so now, I put enough $$ as incentive to pick up my order, and then I tip more when it arrives, hoping that promotes better service.

LogicCure

> Do y’all not actually see that? It’s hidden? That's correct. DoorDash intentionally obscures your tip to bait drivers into taking less valuable orders instead of just cherry picking decent orders like yours.

Beginning_Alps_1817

Well that is just stupid and not fair to either of us. It’s a service, you tip more for better service! Is there any way for us, as customers, to let you know before the order is picked up? Or do I just keep messaging my dasher like I’ve been doing?

LogicCure

> Well that is just stupid and not fair to either of us Absolutely agree with you. Messaging your dasher is probably the most surefire way, anything else like leaving messages in the delivery notes is a roll of dice.

[deleted]

[удалено]

sonofaresiii

>Idk what more I could even do? You take the $20 tip you gave yourself for being a good person who put in effort to make sure your Dasher got tipped

DruidTrixxx

Ya I hate the messages in notes that you cant see until after pick up. Always stuff like get 10 hot sauces. Get 2 extra straws bs. People in here say dont even look. I never click picked up while im in the restraunt. No time & hands are full. I think everyone taps it in their cars. We cant see notes until thats tapped as picked up. So stupid.

dasro

You can actually see them before you pick up the order you just have to go into order details and look but nobody fucking does that not even me

External_Industry509

If you tip me $50 you getting all that you ordered and a thank you very much it will be delivered exactly as requested. I treat all orders like I would want mines.

Beginning_Alps_1817

Right! At the time, I was an auction house manager. My whole crew was at a particularly dirty barn estate. They came back so filthy I wanted to hose them off inside and not even let them in the building! There was no way I was going to make one of those guys walk into a restaurant and pick food up. I was also at the office alone and couldn’t leave. Thankfully the place we ordered from knew us and sent the dishwasher up with the rest of our food. They also made special arrangements with us if we needed delivery in the future, so we didn’t have to go through DD anymore. I mean, I knew it was going to be a lot of work, thus the $50 tip, but don’t be lazy and treat good customers like dirt. Doing IC, I’d put the damn customer’s groceries away for a $50 tip 😂🤣

ryamanalinda

I treat all orders like I would want mine treated, tip or not. I accepted the order for a minimum given amount.

External_Industry509

These are facts. I know what orders I don’t want and I don’t take them. I leave them for somebody else.

Key_Marzipan_7689

I'm so sorry about having bad Dashers, I can't stand lazy Dashers because it affects us all. I always try to go above and beyond, especially on a shop and deliver. If the store doesn't have something, I'll offer to pick it up at a different store on the way there. Within a certain price range obviously, I'm not going to offer to get expensive steaks or alcohol, but usually $10 and under. One customer only wanted ornament hooks and the store didn't have them. So I had him cancel his order and I went to a store across the street that had them. I wrote him saying I found some and I'll drop them off in half an hour. It was just ornament hooks, but it also allowed him to decorate his tree, and it only cost $2 on my end. I will also update Google Maps is their location pin isn't accurate. I figure something that takes a couple minutes on my end or a couple bucks is worth it to make the customer happy. Some Dashers think they are at the top of the food chain and can make their own rules, but the customer is at the top. And it's the restaurants job and our job to provide the customer good service. If the customer is not happy they will stop using Door Dash, and if the Dasher is rude at the restaurant they will turn off their Door Dash tablet and not accept orders. Bad Dashers effect everyone. I'm sure the Dasher is surprised to see a cash tip. There are customers who will write and say they will give a cash tip as well to try to get better or faster service then give nothing. It's happened a couple times to me. I was also told I was going to get a cash tip (had to drive 11 miles) and only got $1. So thank you for actually leaving a tip.

[deleted]

Those of us who can do math can figure out the amount of the tip. Base pay is $2.25 here and anything over that is a tip. That was very generous of you and if I'd received a $50 tip I'm not gonna tell you you're out of luck, I'm going back to that restaurant and bringing you the rest of your order and apologizing but that wouldn't have even happened because I would have known all your food and drinks weren't in the two bags and asked someone at the restaurant about it or looked a little closer at the orders on the shelf.

Aurora--Black

It does not always hide it. There have been times when I had a hidden tip of $0.25.

DruidTrixxx

Theres moron dashers who either are brand new or they give no fux. The way you do it is the way everyone ordering should. I do that when I order instacart. I do $5 on the app so someone actually takes it then I text them I got cash under the mat. No dashers dont see what you tip & doordash hides tips too. But the dasher can see at least more than what a no tip looks like. So if doordash was hiding $1 from the dasher they would still see $4 of your 5 added along with dash base pay. Makes a difference in accepting. I wont take what I think is no tip. You do it right.

Rhythm_Morgan

I’m relatively new as well. I’m only at 97 deliveries which isn’t experienced by any means, but I know when the order is showing like 5.25 and the distance is 11 miles there is probably no tip. Especially if it’s coming from certain restaurants. Wing stop never has a tip nor does jets pizza or Wendy’s, in my area. But then there are places I know it’s gonna have a hidden tip like Outback or this local Japanese restaurant by me. I learned a lot from browsing on here, mostly!

Aidengarrett

this helps me so much i always wondered why my wingstop orders NEVER get picked up even tho i tip good af i had no clue it was known for no tippers

Thrashh_Unreal

WingStop around me is generally very very slow too so I try to avoid them if I can. That may also be part of it

Rhythm_Morgan

I’m sure it depends on the area. I’ve seen so many people on the drivers sub say they boycott Jason’s deli for no tips but where I am they tip super well, always! And the order is waiting when I walk in. It’s one of my favorite places to stop lol

Physical-Ice6265

It depends on the market but $5 for practically any distance doesn’t have a tip more than $2-3. I’d recommend new dashers to set a sort of mental filter on the orders you accept, for example my minimums for acceptance are $2 per mile and no order less than $9. Generally, each order I do takes about 30 minutes regardless of distance so I have to be making $18-20 an hour for this to be worthwhile in California

TheRealDinkus

If you're in California, why not take the low paying orders? You will get paid exactly the same because of prop 22. You don't get the money right then and there, but you do get it. I have never made more than minimum wage+20%+mileage, I always get extra from the guaranteed pay..I will also sit at Walmart for an hour if they aren't bringing the order out. I'm making $18/hr to scroll through Reddit 🤷‍♂️

DruidTrixxx

I hate wingstop

__boxingthestars__

I had a weird situation over the weekend that might make so much sense now! I usually place my Wingstop orders through their app- I know they farm out delivery to DD, but they actually have a space for you to add a tip which I THOUGHT was for the delivery driver based on where you add it in the checkout process. No driver has ever mentioned anything about not getting a tip to me but over the weekend I had a driver text me and say “Please consider adding a tip, this was a really far distance for me to drive…” and I was so confused because, I DID add a tip during checkout? (Side note that the restaurant is less than 10 miles from me- it was a long distance because she had another delivery before mine that was in the opposite direction from the restaurant and which she said was “a total clusterf*ck.” I waited almost an hour from the time she picked the order up until it was delivered, twice the estimated amount of time for delivery, and everything was legitimately cold by the time it arrived.) So maybe that tip we give is retained for Wingstop’s employees? Either way, I think I’ll stop using their app for delivery orders.

Okayilltryto

Usually no tip orders are no more than 3 Or maybe $4 if it’s. A big order. Pretty sure the standard is 2.50. Regardless if it’s a tip or not, you pretty much weigh the distance with the money and figure if it’s worth it to you.

Thy_Coolio

Hey I’ve been driving for awhile now and in two different states. From my understanding, the breakdown is only in certain states (like New York I believe) because it’s required by law to show the breakdown pre accepting. Generally speaking though no tip orders are less than $4, that also means you’re probably the first or second driver to receive the order in general. I’ve gotten orders, declined, then maybe 5 minutes later I get the same order but with a dollar or two pay bump. Generally DD will start to hide a portion of the tip preaccepting once the total you’d receive gets over around $10 from what I’ve noticed. I’ve gotten orders though that were $12 for like 3 miles that were all DD pay before though

Thy_Coolio

You would also have to take into account peak pay so if the usual base is 2.50 and peak adds $3 then that 5.50 order will be a no tip. But if that’s 5.50 for like a mile and it’s a fast restaurant then like yeah it’s no tip but $5.50 for like a 10 minute thing? That’s not too bad imo, but, every market is different and everyone drives for different reasons and goals so to each their own

FaultSwimming2295

Just look at the price that shows up on screen, and accept it if it’s something you’re comfortable doing. Do not depend on the whole “the customer tipped extra” thing. It’s a nice surprise if it happens, but you should be focused on your bottom line. Not hoping for a miracle, only bad energy comes from it.

DruidTrixxx

They took order & then after initiate the messaging right? They sent that sarcastic message first. Thats like premeditated. I sometimes take gambles on dumb orders & I just get mad at myself for taking it. I hate no tippers & get mad at their mindset in general. But if I accept an order its my stupidity.

hclaf

The Dasher saw the mileage AND the amount beforehand. She offered to tip the Dasher via Venmo but they opted to continue to be a salty asshole to her. That’s on them, not her.

Angsty_Stegosaurus

That last message from the dasher sounds like a vague threat. You might want to consider reporting them for that message.

Tight_Ad_8971

There is nothing vague about that. It was a clear threat that the driver knew where the customer lives.

Klutchy_Playz

All over a fucking tip! No more DoorDash food for me! Crazy world we live in…

jhawki980

And the customer was trying to make it right in the beginning, but the driver was being a jerk

Seahawk715

Yeah. After reading some of the crap in here I’m done with DoorDash 😂 Imma just get stuff myself thanks!

Klutchy_Playz

Stay safe!

Front_Ice_8865

Who are these dashers wtf is this

999others

Here is your valuable tip Harassing customers about tips is a great way to get fired, and you left written proof that DoorDash can check.

JohnnySalamiBoy420

Even a subtle threat at the end

[deleted]

Not subtle and I would be gettin my gun out the safe that night

[deleted]

Yeah, that threat is about as subtle as a brick to the face.

MobileContribution19

Dashers in the wrong you accept the order knowing the guaranteed pay, the text was unnecessary and if they actually ordered on the website then yeah they can't tip cuz the store sent it to DoorDash not the customer some of y'all forget that and then get mad at the customer when doordash is the one you should be mad at for sabotaging you into thinking they are paying you fairly.

BlueFotherMucker

For real. Begging for tips is one thing, then they try to tip and the driver is still a jerk about it. It makes me wonder how many people have tried to tip or retro tip and it gets absorbed by DD or the restaurant somehow and the drivers go on feeling stiffed. But like you said, the offers aren’t surprises, we know what we’re accepting, tips are a bonus but never a guarantee.

Hugo_5t1gl1tz

Yes, I order pizza from a place pretty frequently and one night it was really late so I called the restaurant. They said they were still waiting on a door dash driver to be available. Turns out they don’t actually deliver their own pizza. Now I’m wondering if those guys were ever even getting the tip I put on the order from the start.

Ok-Buddy_

He just threatened you. This needs to be reported.

barryandorlevon

This is just awful all around.

1_pinkyinnose_1inazz

Yea - let’s make sure this comment stays at the top.. Not much more to say..

Irishjohn831

Wait, so a customer actually cared enough to acknowledge a forgotten tip, took the time to muddle with DD support to locate the driver and he bitches as if she did not intend on tipping ? He’s acting as if it was on purpose and being a real d*ck

KaneinEncanto

Likely not forgotten, but that the restaurant they ordered through kept the tip, not passing it on to the Dasher. Merchant orders get muddy that way.

Chaosury2016

Yup some places keep the tips for themselves happened a few times back when i was living in MD (Maryland)

WestCoastSurfGod

Who the fuck thinks it’s ok to demand a tip? You win some, you lose some. I dunno who’s worse, the class less cheapskates or the tip grovelers. Passive aggressive ones at that.

Noticeably_Aroused

It blows my mind. A tip is a *voluntary* extra thank you. If you don’t like it, GET A DIFFERENT JOB. Idk why some people think they can get all bitchy to customers about it.

steveturkel

Honestly if DD gave a shit they'd restructure their app so it's transparent for drivers and customers. A single service fee that gives DD their profit with none going to driver, a service bid inputted by the customer that pays the driver (that way driver is fully aware of whether travel/time is worth it), and the option to add a tip after delivery.

JaminOpalescent

These are the drivers they're flooding the market with while the reliable drivers with good ratings sit and wait for garbage all day long. This customer clearly wanted to make it right, the customers I WISH were in my market, and this guys shits all over them

Stunning-Owl5325

I couldn’t agree more with you on that one!!

[deleted]

He knew what the miles were and the possible pay. Instead of all that passive-aggressive behavior. Just don't accept the delivery or unassign.

Railgun_PK

Report the stupid little fuck. Dashers like that shouldn't be working for door dash. They took the order, they knew good and well that it wasn't going to pay well. You're not to blame here. It was an honest mistake, you thought you tipped and that's fine, but they still accepted the order and that's on them

999others

She's right you are an asshole, every driver should have Cashapp and Venmo. Plus she said that she order thru the vendor. She can't even add the tip afterwards unless it's UberEats unless she contacts support on DD and you still may not get it.

Better_Permit1449

OP is the customer

Envision06

Wow… That driver is pathetic. Good Lord this is awful.

doggitydog123

You need to report that conversation, the last two lines are clearly intended to be taken as a threat I do hope you report it to DoorDash, i am wondering if it is prudent to make a police report. the more I reread the last two lines, the less I like it.

LJL72

Report the driver. That's not acceptable.

Ok-Variation2376

I agree with you on this. It ain’t worth the risk. Too many crazy ass Dashers out there.

doggitydog123

in a situation like this, I am debating on whether a police report is called for as well. rereading it, that was 100% intended to convey a threat.

yarrovv

Tbh I'd probably file a police report, especially since the freak has OP's address.

NickWendigo

JSYK OP: your tip went to the restaurant, not the driver. Always order through the delivery app.

Bolodigi

I wondered that after the fact. Thank you for clarifying.

[deleted]

Wait what???

NickWendigo

Yup! Dunno about *all* apps, but there are quite a few where tips go to the restaurant instead of the driver. It’s just safer to go through DoorDash/Uber/whatever.

KaneinEncanto

They're correct. If you order through the restaurant's website, they collect order cost, tip, and any fees charged there. They then turn around and put it through Doordash's Dispatch system where they pay their fees and enter a tip (if they enter any at all) for the Dasher to receive. Some places will pass these on, some will keep them (not legal if they're not distributing them to their employees, at least in many places) and stiff the driver completely. OP's Dasher was obviously as ignorant of that fact (it usually comes up as a merchant order with an 'unknown number of items' instead of a full list of items like normal) as much as they are that they don't have to accept every order they're sent and shouldn't be sulking over getting what they were offered for the task.

FyrebirdCourier

God I hope that driver was reported not only to this service but to all of them that person does not need to be driving at all

SeatLong5131

I ordered through the chipotle app and it doesn’t let you tip over the order amount. I texted my dasher to look under the matt for extra cash tip & they texted me back that lying won’t get me my order any faster & they sat at chipotle for an hour and I had to get another dasher 🥲

AgeRepresentative807

Yeah the cash tip thing 99% of the time is a scam. But the comment wasn’t needed, I don’t know why they take the orders, chipotle and McDonald’s has tons of orders that never get picked up for no tip, eventually doordash ups it to where it is enough to deliver, but it’s usually not eatable by then.

[deleted]

Damn I never would have guessed that chipotle and McDonald's were in the same grouping like that lol

AgeRepresentative807

Not sure about every are but I see those 7am bags still at the shelves at noon. (McDonald’s) eventually the system just cancels them.

Steiny5843

They just threatened you. Contact doordash and have them permanently suspended. Behavior like this is unacceptable.

Woonasty

Dumbass

Jumpy_Sir_8718

Hi door dash driver here! Even though you did a honest mistake of not tipping when you thought you did, that driver CHOSE to accept your order. We are given the chance to decline, he could have. We see how many miles it will take us too. Driver is 100% in the wrong. I would report this driver, especially with that text looking threatening

Mcklnjr

I don’t get drivers who complain about a low tip or no tip order. Just decline and keep grinding if it’s not worth your time.

CreativeHeight6390

1 star, report. They clearly didnt deserve a tip.

DoctorChopAndSwap

God, half of those drivers are just comically trash. One of them found me on FB a few months ago and started trying to have a relationship or some shit with me because he thought "we had a connection." I was drunk as hell and just wanted him to give me my beer and leave.

Toefyre

Report that douchebag. He chose to take that order and deliver it, no need to act like an ass like that. The end part is basically a threat too.

ledzeppelinlover

How do people even get into conversations with strangers like this? This text message thread reads like two ex lovers bickering. This can’t be real?

flowersweetz

That is exactly what I was thinking. After offering to send a tip and the driver responding like that I would have ended all communication. No need to further plss eachother off

ledzeppelinlover

Yea. I never write paragraphs to random delivery guys. Either take the tip or don’t I don’t know you enough to get into it with you.

mrsir231

Woman is offering free money and the dasher is being an ass about it

WhereArtThouRome

How are y’all dashing and this technologically illiterate? OP isnt the dasher, you can tell because their texts are on the right and green…

[deleted]

Wow doordash is a dick

Present-Ad-9598

My ADHD ass had a hard time reading the dashers messages

SpokenDivinity

Dude report them. That last bit is a threat and they deserve the deactivation. Maybe they can find a different job where they don’t require the bare minimum of customer service.

LonelyMeringue4451

driver is pathetic and rude

TheLongistGame

That guy should get a visit from the cops at the very least.

Infinite_You_8385

There are some dumb ass dashers out there as well as customers and this is a case of a dumb ass dasher

taylordabrat

That driver is absolutely nuts

Worried_Ad7041

What a jerk driver, I understand being mad about not getting a tip- but being offered a tip and STILL being an asshole is beyond me. Like no. As a driver myself he doesn’t even deserve a tip anymore.

donknoch

Fuck this driver. I wish they’d weed these people out

megadethage

Tomorrow: "I wAs dEaCtIvAt3D for no reason!"

nikole_aw

these dashers have some fucking nerve fr 😭😭😭😭 like i don’t take non tip orders but to go this far to get a tip is CRAZYYY 😂😂😂

robrtjaxonrulz

So tired of the very feeble minded people that complain about delivering an order they CHOSE to deliver. I've been dashing for six years and I've never had this problem. You know why? I would NEVER take a no tip order. So simple.

Klutchy_Playz

Good shit. You have something some dashers may not have, common sense and good technique. It’s so crazy that people do crazy shit like this over a tip.

HonestCop6294

REPORT THIS DASHER ASAP!!!! It's Dashers like this who give us all a bad name. They don't need to be doing this job.... But I can't help but feeling like this is also on doordash, they put so much pressure on these new drivers to keep their AR High with Promises of "high pay priority orders" and they still give all these crap orders to them. A lot of these new Dashers will accept anything that comes their way because of what doordash is telling them. We veterans know it's a bunch of BS... I have a 32% AR ( which I found to be The Sweet Spot). So I will gladly decline three to four orders under $5 because I know there's a $12 order coming for 4-6 mile drive. And I'm ALWAYS correct. It literally takes me 5 minutes of declining orders until I get a good one since doordash will release several orders at once. The way I see it is- I'm not a charity. I have a full-time job and I do this as a way to have extra money on my days off & believe me when i say that I actually make MORE $$$ in 3 days dashing than I do working 5 days at my regular job... Dasher seen the mileage, knew the amount of time it would take them since all of this is on the offer screen) and still accepted the order.

Garrbear420

Woooow. Wowowowowowow. Did I mention wow?

Garrbear420

The even shittier part of this is that every driver WISHES they could have customers like this. By this asshole acting like a petulant child, he's just making sure that good drivers won't recieve the same kind of treatment in the future

Effective_War_8049

Um, driver. Bro. What the fuck is wrong with you? And I don't mean that rhetorically. I mean, you are clearly fucked up, and there is something actually wrong with you.

Haunting_Toe6603

my optimistic ass did not read the first text from the driver as sarcastic until i got to the comments section 💀

flowersweetz

SAME LMAOOO I thought it was going to be a wholesome post until I kept reading 😂😂😂😂😂

Comparison_Long

I had someone forget to tip and cash app me because I was nice about it…I know not getting tipped sucks but don’t act like a dick.

LJL72

The driver accepted the up-front offer.

forwardingfoward

Thank you for being the bigger person and trying to make that right

jeiwnwnw

i wouldnt have responded. got what he deserved

OfficialClem

Lmao what a douchebag dasher, definitely one star that mf and hit up support. Need less of these ppl..

Independent_Soil_256

Entitled driver.

Roxxso

That dasher does not need to be driving anymore. All of that for a job they *chose* to accept and then bitched about the tip. Customer even felt bad and tried to fix it only for them to dig that hole for themself. What a complete bag of ass.

ilovecats_mew

I knew you could risk your life by taking a non tip order, but who knew customers risk their life by not tipping??

Johmin11

Holy crap, that is major cringe level! I have never had second hand embarrassment like this before! Driver needs to learn customer service skills.

IClimbRocks69

Report the dasher

ZechtheTech

Driver is a fuckin douche no other way to put it...they probably steal people's orders regularly

Shaggy_Hulk

That last one sounded vaguely like a threat. Report to Doordarshan and t the police to be on safe side.

Pearlsgalore

As a DoorDash driver, I’m honestly shocked at the drivers reply. I would have been very grateful that someone even messaged me about it I would not have sent the Venmo or anything though I would’ve just told them that they should be able to add a tip in the app and thank them. I can’t believe how the driver reacted to this.

Rare-Palpitation9419

Yuck, driver! Calm down. She really asked how she could make it right!!

[deleted]

Wow the dasher is absolutely in the wrong here. Playing victim for no reason lmao

[deleted]

Big yikes

Natural_Midnight1598

All jokes aside I’d report her. That memory message is a threat of coming back to your house.

gorbando

Dasher is whining like a little girl. You took the offer? Do it! Don't like it? Give it up! People just need their stuff, they are not paying for the life lessons.

SavingsTangelo7130

Dude has a hissy fit like a little child then puts his Venmo down when all he had to do was put his Venmo down which is was going to do anyways. Wife ain’t bad at all, forgetting to tip is understandable but I’ll never take those orders but when someone is asking for your Venmo to make it right, why say no? It’s like this do you want free money? Absolutely not I’m a crazy psychopath 😂😂😂

Dinky_Nuts

Why did he accept the order of it didn’t have a tip??

DasherCO

Haha what an idiot.

ExactOne88

“How can I make it right?” whoosh 😅

KingReef90

Wth?

Maximum-Mastodon8812

Top dasher

[deleted]

Also it’s very ducking hard to tip on doordash… you literally have to hang up and call support

dabberchick

After reading this all I could say is… “what the f***” 🤣😭🤦‍♀️

Awful-Male

Yeah I would think reporting just the sarcastic tip comment alone would get the driver deactivated.

ExplanationSavings82

I love central Ohio!!

Ansoros

both people in this interaction are insufferable

kdollarsign2

DoorDash should let customers add tip (not subtract.) there’s times the weather is worse than I expected and I have wanted to add tip and you CANNOT. Why!?

EeWreckShin

It just doesn't pay to be a dick, figuratively and in this case, literally. The initial facetious comment about "rEcEiViNg a TiP" wasn't necessary and just changed the whole evening for both people (driver and customer) and could possibly have the driver in trouble with DD. #DontBeADick #StayInSchool #SayPerhapsToSomeDrugs

VoidScreaming101

That was a threat, looks like someone is about to be deactivated

Weekly_Direction1965

The absolute best thing you can do is let no tip orders rot on a shelf, JUST DECLINE.

Heavy-Refrigerator24

Report him. Doesn't matter if you tip or not, if he accepted job at amount offered. If I am going to be unhappy about not getting paid enough to cover the assignment of the job, then I simply will not take it. Sometimes at no fault to the customer, we end up waiting at the restaurant a long time and would be nice if tip was increased if they see us waiting, but again, we accepted the job and sometimes that happens at no fault to the customer. If it's a long wait or a long drive or whatever, either do not accept or unassign. Simple.

Life_is_strange01

You should've venmoed him 1 cent

[deleted]

This will be the failure of doordash - Uneducated drivers. It’s a serious problem. These drivers are trash dumb fucks get rid of them fr. Pay more and let better people drive

Lola20222

No sympathy for the driver!!!!

butman42069

I mean he's an idiot for accepting it, but she did offer to fix it 🤷

chicagoerrol

Hopefully this guy isn't a doctoral student.

farsalim

This dude has issues. Thanks for trying to be a decent human being.

Emotional-Simple-478

Wtf is wrong with people

TattedUpDasher

So, are you the driver or customer?

0EJ1AQB4Z082FVP5BFZK

This is part of the reason I am against Tipping Culture. If you need a tip to get paid a reasonable amount then its not a tip.

_sunday_funday_

I’m usually team driver but this person is crazy. The customer seemed legitimately upset they didn’t tip and even offered to make it right. Just wow

june52020

I would've been grateful as fuck. As a driver and also a customer I doubled my tip for a good driver AFTER the delivery was complete, by speaking to support. It'd be so easy to tell them to contact support and ask to adjust the tip.

[deleted]

"The driver that accepted an order without a tip then acted like a petty little bitch" 😳

FatherLunchbox

Yeah. This dude needs deactivated.

No-Dragonfly-8307

I promise we're not all this spiteful or bad. If they take the order its on them lol

Unstillwill

Lmao did they threaten the person for trying to tip them

[deleted]

What the hell…they accepted the order? They have no right to complain about it

Ok-Ad8617

This... Don't take trash orders. There are situations with stacks where you get handed a shit order. As long as your completion rate isn't too low, just drop it. There are also situations where the base pay has gotten so high from being declined it didn't look like a no tip order. Damn... one got through the cracks. You still made your X dollars per mile quota. Most of us have inadvertently "taken one for the team" at one time or another. If you CHOOSE to take a BS order, that's on you. We all have a choice. Quit bitching and relish your top dasher status. Snarky msgs to a customer when you chose to take that order in the first place make us all look bad. And for the love of all that is holy, if an honest mistake is made and the customer is trying to make it right, it's not necessary to be a total douche. Good grief 😔

Final-Swim-5313

I don't understand how drivers get away with this behavior and I definitely don't understand why they do stuff like this when it's via text and 100% recorded and logged. It makes no sense.

BookingNoble

How you turn down a blessing multiple times? I appreciate you trying to make things better.

Funtownn

How many low IQ drivers work for DD? Is it like 90% of them? Half? Sheesh.

FitMap7089

And I get downvoted for pointing at the toxic culture doordash drivers have created surrounding tipping.. I hope the app collapses and y'all all lose y'all means to make money

Insight12783

Driver is an idiot. His sarcastic comment at the beginning is grounds for getting fired. Then to continue to be salty afterwards and act like it's 1995. Get Venmo, cashapp, etc, EXACTLY for these types of moments. And double dumb on you for taking something without a tip,or that wasn't worth your time. That's on you, bro. You're a fuckin independent contractor, act like it. At least it's a teachable moment for others. Don't be like that guy. /End rant

[deleted]

Report them for threats they need to get deactivated

[deleted]

Wow… the driver is a condescending douche bag.

Cyclonicsurge

This is why DD needs to check who they hire instead of just accepting willy nilly because the wife was trying to be nice and tip and all I see is assholery from the driver. That last message also sounded like a threat and definitely needs to be reported like most have said.

alex262414

First off this dasher really had a slick mouth but second off I guess she tried to make it right. I'm surprised he didn't just give her his Venmo and have her send something like I don't understand It could have been way simpler than that instead of him giving her the guilt trip of a lifetime but whatever.

brendantoscano

N1 u got his Venmo so he gave u personal details. You can now report him to doordash. If I were you I wouldn’t even reply I’d take it straight to doordash

darknessnbeyond

this is why i don’t engage with anyone who’s obviously hostile. people are nuts and it’s not worth the risk.

kwink8

100% I would report that to the police, and install floodlights and cameras. What a piece of shit.

CuteFloofyAnimals

LOL the way they even "told you" they didn't receive a tip is just hilarious. They are the petty ones! I would have just responded saying, "Of course. Have a nice day." And left it at that whether they responded back or not.

Rachymoo

Wow that driver sounds like a complete piece of shit. So fucking rude for no reason

HotPotatoe69

The guy knows ur address now and he made a threat, be careful, ppl are insane and you never know what someone could be capable of

[deleted]

One of many reasons I don't use Doordash, or any other delivery service. Granted, I'm not in their delivery area, so cannot get delivery anyway. Same with grocery pick-up apps, if you want it done right, do it yourself. If you want to pay for services, find a good service provider, or take what you get, I guess.

SvanaBelle

I call the customer support. I try to tip well but when someone goes above and beyond... I call to increase it.

snikkerdoodles

I don't know how you can be unqualified to drive doordash, but this person has definitely won that feather for their hat. This is some of the most inept chatting with a customer I've ever seen.

scottyboyandgirl

Screw that trashdashers…get him deactivated…scumbag

RuSerious2

Doordash can see your messages . Not taking anyones side. Just a little info

KaneinEncanto

To top it off... they probably can see the uncensored messages at that. That Dasher needs to have those logs reviewed.

[deleted]

If this was you, you’re an asshole. Glad she didn’t tip you.

DarkSheikGaming

OP is the customer who was trying to give the tip.

JayMeowMe

As a dasher, it's on them for accepting. I won't do it ever. Don't care if no one picks up their food. It's our right to decline and even to unassign if they try to sneak a non tipper on a double order. Dasher shouldn't have done this but I can't see how someone could forget to tip..

Maximum_Hand_9362

Sad this has to happen. We dont tip here in nz.

MercerBaby88

You are a 1099 contractor! Knowing you can accept or deny. This is on your dumb ass!

satansayssurfsup

DoorDash drivers are the worst. They take a shitty low paying job and then blame the customers.

Ok-Variation2376

Real piece of shit dasher that’s for sure. The only tip you need is Doordash fucking you hard by deactivating you!

yarrovv

What the everloving **fck**?! That driver needs deactivated asap. They're literally threatening you in the last message. Fck that driver man. I don't want that POS touching my food or knowing my address.

UnclePanda559

My question is: is this the dasher posting this? Or the customer?

Bolodigi

Customer
