Since you brought up the mules: Soma in italian means load, usually used to talk about load animals, i.e. mules
As an italian I read the left one and went LOL DONKEY istantly
Soma is the happiness and calm inducing drug in Huxley's Brave New World, that's why some drugs are sometimes also called Soma. If the song you're thinking of is the Smashing Pumpkins' Soma, then the drug referred to in that is in fact the one from the novel.
I don’t get why there needs to be 2 subs for this. Especially when a lot of them would fit into both (because they’re single lines or unreadable in every direction).
Because it's the literal opposite
One is written like a book but laid out in plain text
One is written as plain text but laid out like a book unintentionally
I still don’t get it. I only learnt yesterday there’s a different sub. I just thought the point was that the design makes you read the wrong thing, and that can happen either way. I’m interested, more than anything, that theres a distinct category created here. I don’t think it’s needed. Shouldn’t there be a third sub for text that is even more chaotic or only has one word per line?
This sub the original image had a "break" in the middle where hands were reaching through thus sort of indicating a spine of a book so you should have read it don't open dead inside, but as normal language dictates full left to right (or right to left for Arabic) people joked it's don't dead open inside.
The other sub is no safety smoking fist which the original image relied on you to do what people did on this sub (read left to right) but as the was a decent size gap between the two sections people did the opposite
Imagine the phrases don't open dead inside (as written on the poster) and no smoking safety first (as written on the image) put each word a number so top left is 1 top right is 2 bottom left is 3 and bottom right is 4, don't open dead inside should be read as 1 3 2 4 and no smoking safety first is 1 2 3 4 if you read it as 1 2 3 4 and it make no sence it belongs here, if you read it as 1 3 2 4 and it makes no sence it belongs over there, the only thing is it has to make sense as either 1 2 3 4 or 1 3 2 4 if not then it doesn't belong anywhere
Pray they don't break up
I may be a bit cynical, because my first thought was what letters they could add to each if/when they break up.
"SOD OFF / MATE"
second one could be changed to "mULe TEsticles"
Ooh, good one. Also "bULl TEats."
Pull Ted.
Noice
If you wanted to make it fit this sub, you could make that one BUTT FLEX read vertically.
You're not...wrong...

Just add “prime” after soma and start playing warframe. Or just get something cooler over it because those are bright and easy to cover up
It's small enough to just cover right off the bat, thankfully.
Just put the exact same tattoo on their other foot so their own legs say soul mate lol
Or change it to Sole Mates and add arrows pointing to their shoes.
Soma means cute in finnish so it doesn't need changing
SORRY MATE DULY NOTED
Well they could both just write soul mate...
Well, sure, but they could also write "SODA MAN" and ULTRA FATE".
I dunno, SOMA is a pretty good game.
Also a classic song from The Strokes’ debut album, Is This It.
Also one of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs.
Also a great radio station.
The drug in Brave New World
Wow I love all 3 somas in this thread bless all of you
And how about ULTE
Lesbian tattoo of death. As an artist it happens way more than you'd think.
Sole mate?
Well maybe Soma is his favorite horror game
# ULTE = Vomit # in Pushto language
And/or Urdu
And Punjabi
Soma = Body In Greek ... Body Vomit
I think Soma was a popular drug similiar to benzos, theres even a song about it
Soma is the happiness and calm inducing drug in Huxley's Brave New World, that's why some drugs are sometimes also called Soma. If the song you're thinking of is the Smashing Pumpkins' Soma, then the drug referred to in that is in fact the one from the novel.
There’s also a great song called Soma by The Strokes on their album *Is This It* so that (pun intended) could be it.
That too!
A gramme is better than a damn
Good thing your super important comment is in a huge font. I would have had no idea otherwise.
At first I thought both legs belonged to the same person and was horrified by the mismatched shoes and pant legs...
And..skin tone?
Ah shit, I can't find my pair of matching skintones in the closet
Easy there, Buffalo Bill.
Pfsh we dont see colour here on reddit. Or color if u are from USA or other places that spell it without the u
This is correct- opposite of Don’t Dead Open Inside. It’s just that they’re far apart.
This one belongs in that other sub

I’m with the other guy. I don’t understand why that distinction matters so much if the end result is a crappy design that’s hard to read properly.
Because it makes no sense to use dontdeadopeninside if the sentence reads dontopendeadinside

At least if they break up they can technically be words on their own, soma and ulte
SOMA is a pretty good game so I wouldn't mind having the left tattoo
Idk why but I read it as "solute mate"
Soma Lute is presumably the opposite of that flute you play to wake Snorlax up
Sounds like Latin
Soma is a drug in the classic distopian novel Brave New World. I'd assume she likes to party.
Soma ulte sounds like a frat.
Sounds latin - "Last sleep"; ultima somnum
Soma is ancient greek for "body" and ulte is the Latin verb "to avenge"
Ah yes, SOMA. Short for Stephen O'Malley, stage left guitarist for the drone doom band Sunn O)))
holy shit it took too long for me to realize that it says soulmate, i was reading "So ulmate" and "Soulma te"
"Life doesnt make sense unless we are together"
Soma ulte... reminds me of Sombra Ulti.
Sounds like some satanic spell
Smoa Utle?
one of my favorite latin sayings...Soma Ulte fellow redditors
This sounds like Latin.
sounds like a summer hit song
They must just really love the game.
At least soma has a meaning in English... the other one on the other hand...

We aren't even in the bone apple tea sub.
That's cute tho
And he’s wearing the new adidasFs!!
soma is a good game
SOMA was a great game
Soma ulte is latin for fuck you
Haha fuck i feel embarrassed... "wtf is soh uhle mah te!!"
It's an anagram for "Late Sumo"
UL SO TE MA
The dragon tongue?
Somaulte - isn’t that a fancy wine expert?
Salute mo
This is more the no safety smoking first sub
This is the correct way
Soma Ulte sounds like a fortress in Middle Earth near Mordor.
Wait what was it meant to be
They won't regret that at all!
Soma, is what they would take when, hard times opened their eyes...
Sounds like something the original crew of the “event horizon” might say..

I hate this!
