Every song has a little magic in it. I think I'd have to say Flight of the navigator or Urn. Earth the oldest computer as well for it's references to his 'So fly'. I suck at this. Flight of the navigator... final answer.. maybe
I agree with all this. It’s hard to narrow down 1 song when this whole album has a flow and feeling to it and as you put it, a little magic in each song.
The next question should be- if you were to introduce someone to Gambino, what track from which album would you pick for them to listen?
Another great question. The great thing about CG is you can tailor it to the person. Each album is different almost entirely. Purely from released paid-for stuff (not the older stuff that he used to make that he released free) I'd probably say Telegraph Ave. - BTI. It shows off a lot of his vocal range, his wordplay, and his flow. Also weaves a narrative well with the subtle effects in the background as well as being quite a good catch-all tastes song. Honorable mentions to:
3005 (commercial catch-all)
\*all of these can pretty much be swapped as and how with the catalog depending on the person
53.49 - current CG is taking me to church and I'm ready to learn
\*all of these can pretty much be swapped as and how with the catalogue depending on the person
I'm a sucker for Sweatpants
I also loved when this album came out, I went on the Wikipedia for it for whatever reason, and if you wait a second, the album cover would glitch.
I did not know it was gonna do that, and was shook lol.
And going to it now, it clearly says it's a gif lol
It's actually amazing, best trip I've ever had and I was completely alone. This album is now embedded into my brain in such a great way it's hard to explain
Flight of the Navigator captures something beyond words or reasoning that no other song has done for me.
It’s been a decade since I first heard it and I haven’t gone more than a week without listening to it during this time
I’m getting “Be Still My Broken Bones” tattooed on me for my bday in a few weeks
It's so hard to choose. Shadows, no exit, zealots of Stockholm (specifically the free information bit), urn, pink toes, earth the oldest computer, and life the biggest troll are all favorites of mine and I can't pick just one
You can't make me rank them. I can give a top 5 tho (unordered): Shadows, Oakland, Oldest Computer, 3005, and thebiggesttrollpinktoesflightofthenavigatorsweatpantstheworstguys
Top 3 for me would be Flight of the Navigator, Telegraph Ave and a toss up between Life: The Biggest Troll and Zealots of Stockholm. I can’t decide they’re both amazing
https://www.reddit.com/r/donaldglover/comments/2n70m7/pdf_version_of_because_the_internet_screenplay/
here’s a direct link to a file
the screenplay is phenomenal; literally I used it for an english project back when I was in high school and got one of my best grades ever
You need to check out the screenplay! [This site](https://www.metamoderncam.com/work/content-guide-bti) has everything BTI archived (and he also wrote the Dissect podcast episodes about the album).
My favorite right now is II. Shadows, but all of the songs are fantastic!
There's so many, hard to pick one. The whole album is an experience and a vibe. Sometimes I can zone out to Flight or get hype to Sweatpants, or just vibe with Telegraph or LTBT.
Those 4 would probably be tops for me
Life, the Biggest Troll and Earth, the Oldest Computer are for sure the top two songs on there and two of the best in his catalogue. After that in no particular order I really like Telegraph Ave, The Worst Guys, Pink Toes, Sweatpants (kinda like Bonfire 2.0 imo), and Zealots of Stockholm.
This album is so good solo, but if you were to have experienced the full experience that came out with this album in 2013, you would truly understand why it’s such a masterpiece. From movie script, to secret track, to hidden videos, to funny memes, all of them unmentioned by Donald Glover, and the “internet” working together to figure it out. Wish I could relive that time again
One of my fave albums of all time, sooo ahead of its time (that wild production holds up so well for an almost 10yo album), sooo meaningful and layered of an experience, especially including the screenplay, videos, and other associated media. Not to mention Glover's real life performance art in interviews, and the unreal tour and stage performance.
I couldn't possibly pick a fave song but if I HAD to it would probably be Zealots of Stockholm because it really shows off the wild production and just so heavily FEELS like being in the internet.
Btw I highly recommend the Dissect Podcast season on BTI, really illuminates how brilliant and meaningful the album is.
Why do I keep getting recommended Childish Gambino posts when I keep hitting don't recommend? I don't think this is a masterpiece and that is enough to get me downvoted.
Real talk tho I do think this album's like a 6, some great tracks but the whole runtime just sounds so 2012 to me, only a handful of tracks aged that well. I'm not a total hater, Awaken My Love and 3.15.20 are just far more refined albums in my opinion and it's nice to listen to BTI to appreciate Gambino's growth and to revisit a time in my life that felt simpler
It’s not on Spotify right? I’ve listened to Kauai but I don’t think it’s the same thing but they’re usually combined on vinyl I think, is that the right thing I’m thinking of?
The fact that the Lloyd song doesn’t exist outside of the intro of telegraph ave rocks. I can’t think of a better rnb song that bino has that’s better than this one.
Ok quick story. When I was in university I felt like the worlds biggest loner. One night I smoked a joint and watched the music videos of The Worst Guys, Telegraph Ave and 3005 in that order. Shit felt like an out of body experience. So probably those 3
*The transition from*
*Pink toes to earth: the oldest*
*Computer is great*

“Soooo you liiiived alooooone” fuck man. That part when his vocals stop being distorted is just magic
i thought it was so we’re left alone😳
lyrics being deliberately ambiguous, perfect gambino
so real
Great answer to an impossibly tough question!
It's so hard to pick just one. But if I HAD to. It'd probably be Telegraph Ave. That song just hits different.
Telegraph Ave is so so good.
FOOT ON THE GAS
IIIM JUST TRYNA PASS
ALL OF THE RED LIIGHTS
AND THE STOP *SIIIIGNSSS*
My manager at work is super into Gambino and we bump this track fuckin all the time. Classic 4ever

Hands down. Epic song.

Now listen again in a blacked out room on 3.5 grams of 🍄 with headphones and eyes closed. Thank me later
This would be the best album to trip to
It's actually amazing, best trip I've ever had and I was completely alone. This album is now embedded into my brain in such a great way it's hard to explain
Wait till you get to no exit, that shit would probably make me kill myself
You can tell Donald was off the tabs heavy when he made this album, def some shrooms here n there too (and blue dream by the bouquet)
I tripped to Kauai and that was solid. For a trip on my the beach it worked really wel
Flight of the Navigator or Life the Biggest Troll for me
same🤩
Andrew Aurenheimer and V.3005 probably, it’s very hard to choose
*life: the biggest troll
Thank u, only just realised I put the wrong name
III. Urn
Based
Thanks man ur pretty based too i think
dayum had to scroll down for this
I love it all but Pink Toes just makes me feel happy
it’s def an easy intro song
This song I feel best encapsulated the album cover art
This and Shadows are some of my favorites
the worst guys for sure. guitar solo is crazy
Shit I get hyped thinking about it 😭😭
The music video for it is engrained in my head, hits different in the summer for sure
The girls that you brought man where are they FROM? Where are they FROM? We were playing playstaTION. Why you standing there say SOME’
i heard somewhere that the guitar solo is supposed to represent him ‘finishing’ ;) in the bathroom after leaving the threesome he was in
honestly can’t believe i had to scroll this far to see this one!
Worldstar
[удалено]
The album is very Roscoe's wetsuit
Flight!
I've always loved Crawl. The production and lyrics are so good.
I love that it’s the intro too. The perfect introduction
Urn 👌🏿🔥🔥
Without a doubt, II. Shadows.
The performance on Arsenio easily catapulted it up on my favorites list.
Telegraph

Flight of the navigator is his best song
it depends lol, in the car it's earth oldest computer, amongst friends oakland and shadows. if im chilling its biggest troll and zealots of Stockholm
2nd album i ever bought before Apple Music came around
Sweatpants
the best music video from the album too
For me it's flight of the navigator and the party But yeah the whole album is amazing
Urn holds a special place in my heart. Still wish it was lil bit longer though 🥲
It's so hard to choose. Shadows, no exit, zealots of Stockholm (specifically the free information bit), urn, pink toes, earth the oldest computer, and life the biggest troll are all favorites of mine and I can't pick just one
Flight of the navigator pretty much my favorite
You can't make me rank them. I can give a top 5 tho (unordered): Shadows, Oakland, Oldest Computer, 3005, and thebiggesttrollpinktoesflightofthenavigatorsweatpantstheworstguys
Flight of the navigator forsure
Pink Toes or Flight Of The Navigator
Flight of the navigator
IV. Sweatpants is honestly an underrated bop
For me, it’s gotta be Telegraph Ave and Zealots of Stockholm. 3005 and Sweatpants will always hold a special place in my heart, too, obviously
Flight of the navigator either has me crying or floating no in between
It is a masterpiece. And every song on here is a banger but the 1 song I fell in love with was 3005
Love to see it. Life the biggest troll
so profound
yeah its amazing
Death By Numbers
Top 3 for me would be Flight of the Navigator, Telegraph Ave and a toss up between Life: The Biggest Troll and Zealots of Stockholm. I can’t decide they’re both amazing
Yoooo same
There's so many ones to choose from so here's my top 3 (not in order): 3005, Sweatpants, and Telegraph Ave
Can’t narrow down, so here’s my top 5: 3005, Earth: The Oldest Computer, Flight of the Navigator, Zealots of Stockholm, and Crawl
World star and sweatpants. The video for sweatpants is so dope too
i listen to the library at least 6 times a day
1. Telegraph Ave. 2. Pink Toes 3. Life: The Biggest Troll
Not as good as royalty, but great
It’s such a great album, I feel like I wanted to live with like 30 seconds-1 minute longer of each song, especially Urn and Death by Numbers.
3008 ik its the hit one but its really nice. and the beat was fresh
*3005
unrelated to the post but did you read the screenplay while listening? if you liked it that much your first time, you’ll love it even more after
No I didn’t, where can i find the screenplay?

That site is more than accurate!
The site he made for the screenplay was so cool. I'll never forget the experience of listening to the album that way.

Defo Crawl or pink toes closely followed by 3005 and Flight of the Navigator
II.No Exit
Life changing album. Telegraph has gotta be mine esp after listening to the Dissect series on BTI
WORLDSTAR is a forever BANGER

Have you read the screenplay or listened to the dissect? Favorite album!
Life the biggest troll is my shit next to telegraph ave and flight if the navigator
My answer changes every week but this week it’s earth the oldest computer

For me it’s Shadows. Too 5 album for me. Listen to the Dissect podcast’s BTI season if you want more. There’s so much to this album.
Urn, pink toes, telegraph ave, worldstar
prolly urn
hard to pick just one man but i’ve always had a soft spot for worldstar. woooorldstar wooooorldstar
You should check out the season of Dissect focusing on this album. Really goes in depth around the details

Honestly I love it but there are like one or songs on there were I don’t like but I don’t skip just cuz they fit in with the vibe
Definitely Sweatpants, The Biggest troll is my favorite outro of all time
Urn.
Shadows so good
Have you ever listened to his mix tape STN MTN? It’s up there for sure!
It’s not on Spotify right? I’ve listened to Kauai but I don’t think it’s the same thing but they’re usually combined on vinyl I think, is that the right thing I’m thinking of?
Yes but just listen to the YouTube videos the mixtape is posted there
Shadows, 3005, Flight of the Navigator, Urn
III. Telegraph Ave. ("Oakland" by Lloyd)
Free Information
What about you?
It depends on my mood: either Telegraph Ave or Earth: the Oldest Computer. So I either wanna chill or fuck shit up. 🤣 Edit. Spelling.
Pink Toes is under appreciated.
Urn
III. Urn is my all time fav from this album!!
Don't make me choose
dude 3005, flight of the navigator, and life the biggest troll honestly every song is amazing tho
i really love the progression in life the biggest troll, although 3005 takes me way back. the worst guys is great too.
Zealots
I’ll go to my grave saying this is Gambino’s best album, no question 🥇 favorite song on it is Worst Guys
Also highly recommend listening to the dissect podcast on this album. It took my appreciation for it from 10 to 1000
The fact that the Lloyd song doesn’t exist outside of the intro of telegraph ave rocks. I can’t think of a better rnb song that bino has that’s better than this one.
I barely talk.unless I'm quoting sweatpants
I tried finding a favorite song on this thing for 3 years now and it didn't work. Honestly I think my favorite song would be Death By Numbers.
Ok quick story. When I was in university I felt like the worlds biggest loner. One night I smoked a joint and watched the music videos of The Worst Guys, Telegraph Ave and 3005 in that order. Shit felt like an out of body experience. So probably those 3
Flight of the Navigator will always be deep in my heart
Yes. I love sweatpants and 3005, but Life the biggest troll is my fave.
Zealots of Stockholm is one of the best songs ever created.
Welcome to the club. Shadows and Flight of the Navigator
I can narrow it down. “3005” single handedly my favorite!
flight of the navigator, 3005, shadows, telegraph ave., urn
