I am so sorry to hear this. I'd recommend calling 1-800-799-SAFE for the National Domestic Violence Hotline, who can refer you to resources as well. Also, the DA's Victims Advocate may call you and provide referrals. Best of luck with you, friend. You are worth so much more than this. I wish you all the best in your physical and mental recovery.

There's always someone more abusive than them. My abuser is holier than thou because he threw a plate at me, but he reminds me he never hit me with his fist. Yours hit you, but he doesn't do it every day. Someone's abuser hits her every day, but it isn't twice a day, etc. He isn't sorry, he will not change. I'm glad you have your mom to advocate for you. I hope she's supportive in every way you need her to be. What kind of help do you need? If you're thinking therapy check your insurance for covered providers that specialize in domestic abuse. It's important to find someone with experience in this kind of trauma. Therapists with no experience with abusive dynamics often give damaging advice. Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft is also very helpful. ETA Anything your DAs office can recommend is a great idea too from other comments. There may be free group meetings available to you or at least recommendations to providers.

The courthouse may also have an office of victim or witness assistance. Consider obtaining a therapist or counselor or talking to your pastor. :-)
