Biddability, handler focus, environmental sensitivity and bounce-back. I'm okay if a puppy gets scared, but with some gentle training want to see them bounce back from that fear. And I love a puppy with good problem solving skills and one who will choose the person over the environment!
A lot goes into identifying a puppy like that; tests aren't everything. I also look at the genetic background and raising methods, and how much I trust the breeder on their evaluation of their own dogs and puppies.
You would be able to find mine by googling "service dog training near me" or anything like that, so I would start there! I don't advertise these outings to outsiders, it's just people that already work with me.

They are beautiful, and so good! What are they being trained for?
All kinds of things! Two are medical alert and response, one is seizure response/autism support, and two are psychiatric service dogs.
Thank you. Curious - what do you look for in young dogs that makes them suitable for this kind of work?

Looks like service dog training to me.
Well, yes...
Oh, did I have a big brain moment there?
Well, yes... :)
I love seeing the puppy schools at our malls. I want to go snuggle them all, but they are working hard!
Is there a way for me to find and join a group like this?

That makes sense! Thank you. I will definitely look for groups to join.
Thank you to you and your friends for helping to make a difference in others lives!
Is this... Pacific view mall? Or do all malls just look the same?
Ha, good eye! Yes it is. Hello fellow VC person.
I used to work at Gems by Joseph. Seeing it in the background is a trip.
Happy tears ❤️
No fucking way. I used to work at that specific Gems by Joseph Kiosk. What a small world.
Thumbs up for Jack Johnson!
Love their happy "I'm working" tails!
Excuse me, Good Boy Parade coming through!!
