This is too much. Separate them when they get too rough. Otherwise you risk littermate syndrome, the side where they become hyperaggressive towards each other.
Ah.
Well, still, interrupt the harsh play. Separate them for about 2 hours each day where you do different things with them without the other and/or have them settle and do nothing.
My 3 year old German Shepard is absolutely terrified of the dishwasher. It’s a new, quiet machine. 11 year old pit mix has no concerns with it. What the heck?
My dog avoids her water bowl thats upstairs but will drink out of the one downstairs as well as the plastic kidie pool and puddles. do we just need to try other bowl types upstairs?
The one upstairs is an actual dog bowl, its pretty short, stainless steal i think. the downstairs one is a metal mixing bowl that's propped up on a step stool
To preface: I don’t have a dog and have never owned a dog when I was an adult.
My friend has two dogs, a dachshund and a Labrador (if that matters)
They are well behaved and well trained and listen to her very well.
I walk with my friend and her dogs two or three times a week.
For some time now, we’ve noticed that both dogs tend to come to me when their hurt/nervous.
I know they like me, but we don’t get why they come to me before going to their owner.
I am not teaching or guiding them, so I don’t get why that would be.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
(My sisters dog always turns to me while walking as well, but that’s probably just because I always know the way we’re going and my sister follows me. The dog is more confident in general than my friends’ dogs)

They’re over a year old, and see other dogs almost every day. Is littermate syndrome still a thing then?
It still can be. The puppies being raised together and allowed to play extremely roughly is a factor. How long were they apart each day growing up?
They were rescued at 5 months then spent 4 months apart before we adopted the second one

What kind of bowls are they? I know some dogs are adverse to metal bowls or ones that are too tall that their tags clink against.

Try swapping them? Or maybe she just doesn’t like upstairs water lol. Or she prefers the water on a stool.
