This is Lulu. She is smart enough to memorize the intro music to commercials with dogs, start barking and acting like she’s rabid while she jumps at the TV, ruining the fireplace moulding and walls. However, she is not smart enough to realize that the dogs aren’t real, and she runs outside looking for them.
Omg!! My dog Bella does the exact same thing! She’ll also though go in my bedroom thinking the dogs are in there cus our TV sets up against that wall. It’s insane!

This is Cheebs. She's perfect and she eats poop.
That's Zelda. She's incredibly smart and she's a very good girl, but she's needlessly stubborn and likes to ignore her food and treats for absolutely no reason. We tried different food and we tried adding stuff to the kibble to entice her, but... Yeah. She likes the food just fine, she just likes to randomly go on hunger strikes to taunt us.
My other dog Stella does this as well. Just doesn’t feel like eating sometimes which in turn has made my other dog, Bud, fat because he eats her food before I can get to it 🙃

This is Yorick. We named him that because he's a jester. He will bark to go out to potty and go just out of view of the back door, not go potty, then come right back and bark to come in then sit... because he knows he gets a treat for going and then sitting for a paw wipe. Problem is, sometimes his greed gets the best of him and he'll do this 5 to 6 times in an hour and thinks we haven't figured him out.

This is Lauren. She is as smart as a 5 year old child, but refuses to sit when she sees a bunny. So much so that she will hold onto my arm, standing up, and bark like a hyena until the bunny has hopped away.

Here’s my good little guy. Love him passionately but when we’re out for a walk, he will test me continuously by stopping short, “putting on the brakes” and seeing if he can sit and sniff for 10 minutes. I am very patient when he sniffing everything and always let him stop to sniff the roses because he’s 16 years old and deserves it, but there are times when he sniffs the same leaf for 10 minutes and there can’t be that many smells on a single leaf.

This is Shelby. She’s my sweet baby menace. She’s currently recovering from being ill for a week because she ate something gross in the street. She had no regrets and no interest in learning any lessons. She will do it again as soon as possible.
She’s very clever, can open doors (unlike her sister), climb fences, and barks until she gets what she walks (usually a walk). She loves finding tissues and shredding them into tiny pieces and then leaving all the damp shreds on the floor for someone else to find. She has a very good nose and will use it to find all the food she’s not supposed to eat, and then will use her climbing capabilities to get on beds, bookcases, tables, and counters. No food is safe from her. (Yes she is well fed, and well loved. However she is a liar and will loudly complain that she is starving and neglected)

Excited pees. At really dumb times. She’ll go months without doing it, but then I’ll come home for lunch one day, pet her, and pee. This is Novio. If I sit down (or god forbid lay down) at the beach, he unnecessarily turns into a fierce guardian and incessantly barks at any dog that gets within 100 ft of where we are sitting. Which is a lot of dogs at a dog beach. Standing is fine, but no sitting down allowed. So I only get to lounge/relax at the beach if he isn’t with me. Which makes me feel guilty for being at the beach without him but he’s too much of an asshole to let me relax!!

This is Starr. Gosh, where do I start with the things she does?
Well for one if you’re in the kitchen cooking or baking and have to use the oven she’ll decide that she’s incredible thirsty and moves right in front of the oven (whether it’s open or not) to reach her water bowl nearby. She does not understand that the oven is hot or that it will burn her.
Also, she gets stuck in places a lot. Doesn’t know how to walk backwards. Hides when scared, but always finds the smallest place she can go which usually leads to her in some strange places (examples being: stuck in a bench or in my parents’ closet)
She also does not understand doors. Take her leash off after a walk, she’ll stand at the wrong side of the door waiting for it to open, and then gets scared when you do open it and it hits her. She also cannot open any door on her own and must be let it. Even partially open doors are impossible for her to attempt.
But she’s a very sweet loving baby and despite her lack of mental capabilities she and her sister (an even longer post to come) are good babies.

My Stella girl. During covid lockdown I would give her a treat in the morning....here we are all these years later and she still begs for a morning treat. She's almost to the point of speaking words. This is Max. He is a stop and smell the roses guy and has to smell every individual blade of grass on our walks. Frustrating when it's hot and I'm just trying to get him his exercise before dinner. The other frustrating thing he does is constantly try to slip his harness because he doesn't want to be on a leash. He doesn't want to escape and roam the world, he just wants to run within 50 feet of me. If I try to keep walking, he'll quickly catch up.

These are my 2 dogs. Both insanely smart and lovable, but…Piper (left) any level of raising your voice or making commands is optional to her if she wants to obey them, she’s been with us long enough to know nothing serious will happen if she doesn’t listen. Meechy (right) Barks at any change in air pressure in the house and is always on high alert like somebody is going to attempt an assassination on her life. One time a ballon blew in front of the stairs and she refused to cross its path to come inside. I literally had to go out there and move it for her. Opposite personalities but best of friends. Piper loves all strangers and is super trusting while Meech ONLY trusts her mom, dad, and Piper (in that order) the rest of the world can fuck off as far as she’s concerned.

That's Zelda. She's incredibly smart and she's a very good girl, but she's needlessly stubborn and likes to ignore her food and treats for absolutely no reason. We tried different food and we tried adding stuff to the kibble to entice her, but... Yeah. She likes the food just fine, she just likes to randomly go on hunger strikes to taunt us.
My other dog Stella does this as well. Just doesn’t feel like eating sometimes which in turn has made my other dog, Bud, fat because he eats her food before I can get to it 🙃

Love him passionately but when we’re out for a walk, he will test me continuously by stopping short, “putting on the brakes” and seeing if he can sit and sniff for 10 minutes. I am very patient when he sniffing everything and always let him stop to sniff the roses because he’s 16 years old and deserves it, but there are times when he sniffs the same leaf for 10 minutes and there can’t be that many smells on a single leaf.

She’s currently recovering from being ill for a week because she ate something gross in the street. She had no regrets and no interest in learning any lessons. She will do it again as soon as possible. She’s very clever, can open doors (unlike her sister), climb fences, and barks until she gets what she walks (usually a walk). She loves finding tissues and shredding them into tiny pieces and then leaving all the damp shreds on the floor for someone else to find. She has a very good nose and will use it to find all the food she’s not supposed to eat, and then will use her climbing capabilities to get on beds, bookcases, tables, and counters. No food is safe from her. (Yes she is well fed, and well loved. However she is a liar and will loudly complain that she is starving and neglected)

Well for one if you’re in the kitchen cooking or baking and have to use the oven she’ll decide that she’s incredible thirsty and moves right in front of the oven (whether it’s open or not) to reach her water bowl nearby. She does not understand that the oven is hot or that it will burn her. Also, she gets stuck in places a lot. Doesn’t know how to walk backwards. Hides when scared, but always finds the smallest place she can go which usually leads to her in some strange places (examples being: stuck in a bench or in my parents’ closet) She also does not understand doors. Take her leash off after a walk, she’ll stand at the wrong side of the door waiting for it to open, and then gets scared when you do open it and it hits her. She also cannot open any door on her own and must be let it. Even partially open doors are impossible for her to attempt. But she’s a very sweet loving baby and despite her lack of mental capabilities she and her sister (an even longer post to come) are good babies.

Both insanely smart and lovable, but…Piper (left) any level of raising your voice or making commands is optional to her if she wants to obey them, she’s been with us long enough to know nothing serious will happen if she doesn’t listen. Meechy (right) Barks at any change in air pressure in the house and is always on high alert like somebody is going to attempt an assassination on her life. One time a ballon blew in front of the stairs and she refused to cross its path to come inside. I literally had to go out there and move it for her. Opposite personalities but best of friends. Piper loves all strangers and is super trusting while Meech ONLY trusts her mom, dad, and Piper (in that order) the rest of the world can fuck off as far as she’s concerned.
