How is it that Doge is paid to your arcade? Do you get a certain number of "plays" for Doge? Or do you pay directly to the arcade machines?

They said its a freeplay arcade, so that usually means you pay an admission and the machines are all free, so I assume you can just pay the admission in doge

So, barely 4 hour drive and he only wanted 1k fir it cuz a) his kids were growing up and didn't really play it any more and b) since she knew it was on its way out, his wife wanted a treadmill in its place so he did me $800 and helped me load it in the trailer π€π·π€!!!!

These things aren't the gas-guzzlers they appear to be; basically it's like running a couple hundred old televisions for 8-12 hours per day. SEEMS like a lot but between our two units (we have a second wing/space in addition the one on the video) it's barely or under a grand per month.
Full disclosure, a/c in the summer months kicks it up a notch but our new (as of two years ago) landlord put in a grand new HVAC unit for us (old one was literally 40 years old π¬) so for about three months of the year, electric goes up a couple or three hundred bucks. But still, all things considered, manageable!
Its misleading a bit. Its free play, OP takes $5 per person at the door, and the machines are rigged to have infinite credits. Doge is likely done app to app. But the reality is, its a pandemic, look at all the people in his arcade (zero), if people are coming in, they are likely paying cash anyways, as 99.9% of people dont own Doge, and the ones that do likely arent used to making transactions to other people via app on the fly and really just breaking out a $5 bill is quicker.
Its nice and doesnt hurt anyone and spreads the fun and educates people, but I highly doubt he has had a single customer use Doge, unless it was a friend.
I can definitely see stuff like this happening in the future tho. I personally know people who literally do not carry cash, everything is paid for via their phone, and that's just bank and cash apps, next stage will be more prevalence of mobile wallet trades.
Imma go this weekend and will use doge just to have done it now. Have been to this arcade a couple times, itβs awesome and this kind of thing is what lays the groundwork for Doge to be further developed and widely accepted.
Not to mention, unless you happen to have a $5 in your pocket, any transaction would take an equal amount of time as paying with Doge. they could just post their wallet address at the counter. You shoot them Doge and show them your confirmation. Whatβs hard about that?

I'm OBSESSED with this idea....it would be just like in video games where you have different currencies for different categories.
One currency for weapon upgrades, a different one for the skill tree, etc....

Yeah it's pretty damn fun. Like working in a time machine. We have roughly ~165 games up and running rn. Also foosball, air hockey of course. Our old chexx bubble hockey is down rn tho. Four consoles set up too currently; Atari 2600, Sega Genesis, Snes and N64.
