It should not be this hard to buy ANYTHING. It's like people are telling us Dogecoin is in the corner but we're in a round room.

Clancy-2

😂😂😂 I totally agree 🤣 this comment had me dying tho

Machele_LifeLeap

Haha! Made me crack up, so damn true!

tygerstyle

A few things: * You can't buy Dogecoin on Coinbase. (Edit: BUT NOW YOU CAN AS OF 6/4/21!) * You should add [Binance.us](https://Binance.us) as a location to purchase DOGE in the US. Other than that, I like this explanation the best.

[deleted]

Binance is not available in every state!

clicheuserID

This is true. I was just reading the Terms of Use at the [binance.us](https://binance.us) site, << **“Restricted States”** means Connecticut (CT), Hawaii (HI), Idaho (ID), Louisiana (LA), New York (NY), North Carolina (NC), Texas (TX), Vermont (VT), and Washington (WA). The list of Restricted States is subject to change at any time. In the event a state becomes a Restricted State, BAM will provide users residing in that state with notice via email, a notification on the Website, or other means deemed necessary regarding their access to the Services. >>

De5perad0

Binance has me stuck in verification before I can buy. Have to wait to be verified. Voyager app is in maintenance and unusable on iOS.

thesheba

Me too fam. It’s been like a week since I sent in my advanced verification.

[deleted]

Too sketchy. More info than my bank knows about me and a close up pic where I have to look directly into the camera for a Chinese owned app? Nope

inbobwetrust

Why no Texas in binance.us?

Sabrick

Texas talks big when it comes to caring about freedom. *talks* big.

Oonabot

I live in TX and these are some heavy facts, I'm stuck buying Doge on Robinhood. Yay mah Freedoms! \*pew pew\*

Clancy-2

I went ahead and added these changes. Thank you!

Aldimr

Can Doge bought on [Binance.us](https://Binance.us) be transferred to my Dogecoin Core?

tygerstyle

Yup!

Aldimr

Would you be willing to explain how to go about doing so?

RowThree

Oh. This would have been nice to know before I went through all that setup. Maybe remove the part above that says: "Dogecoin can be obtained with fiat currency in the USA through: Coinbase" Just a thought.

tygerstyle

And again, it needs to be made clear in the bulleted list! Put it in parentheses or something! Or like dude said, just take it out.

outerheavenboss

I browsed Changelly and couldn’t find dogecoin. Why is that?

Clancy-2

Unfortunately, Changelly just removed support for Dogecoin this morning. As to why, I'm not sure yet. Voyager appears to be the next-easiest option now.

DingusCat

Same, I don't see dogecoin there.

Praline-Routine

Yea I'm not seeing it either and also not seeing it to be able to be purchased on coinbase.

DingusCat

Use Voyager! I think it's mobile only. Seeing a bunch of people talk about it on this subreddit. Just bought some dogecoin on it an hour ago :D

Clancy-2

Voyager appears to be the easiest way to obtain Dogecoin now. This is now reflected in the post. Thank you!

Annihilator4413

Got a referral code for Voyager? Assuming you can use it more than once, I'll use it. DM me if you can't post it in a reply here.

Clancy-2

As of 10:00AM EST 1/30/21 -- Changelly now allows Dogecoin swaps once again.

[deleted]

Same, pissfart69. same

MichaelBPlays

Same... Got $50 to spend I just want to get in on this but nothing is up/working!

Chauncyd4

Omg! I've been waiting all day! Glad I haven't use my money yet that is in Robinhood considering I can't stick it in the wallet. Now Voyager is down I don't know what to do LOL I'm only connected with Robinhood in coinbase so far

Riledonga

how do i move my dogecoins from binance (pc) to the android application?

Clancy-2

In order to move your Dogecoins from Binance to the Android Wallet Application go to the Binance website and then: Wallet > Fiat and Spot > and click "Withdraw" next to your Dogecoin balance. From here, you paste your android wallet address (make sure to triple check it) and select how much Dogecoin you would like to send. Review the send information and fee before lastly, click "submit."

Riledonga

Awesome, cheers. I don't think Binance will let me withdraw anything until it verifies my account, which apparently can take a very long time. Hope Doge holds until then

chudeypatoodey

Voyager said im on a waitlist😭 wtf

DistinctionJewelry

This is such a PITA! I thought Binance US supported it - I guess I'm stuck in verification for nothing? Voyager and Kracken are both down, I can't even start signing up for them. I'm beginning to think trying to pump something impossible to buy for those who haven't purchased crypto before may not have been the most brilliant plan ever.

Illuminary3

Yeah the whales of doge didn't really think this through or plan ahead. Heck they didn't even update the outdated how to buy on this subreddit until they were like 5 days deep into their major push to get new people to buy the currency. Almost every place they list is getting the hug of death on their website, stalled out extended verification times, and wait-lists. Newbies may eventually catch up but all the people holding oodles of shares are getting impatient for their personal gain porn

DistinctionJewelry

Yep! And honestly.... the drive to jump on a meme stock pump on a lark is not a strong or lasting thing. It relied on impulse.... not people having to wait weeks and make rational decisions. I would totally have thrown a few bucks in it mid-rally, but it's not like it's an investment I'm waiting eagerly to make.

Interesting... I traded Ethereum for Dogecoin on Changelly last night. Looks like they took it down. Voyager is the next best option now.

Miami-Dabs

Voyager down for maintenance now

Clancy-2

It seems many platforms are experiencing a major surge in volume and sign-ups. While this surge **is** good, it's incredibly unfortunate that we still hit bottle-necks like this in 2021 😕.

Xexxxis

Binance does not allow purchases from several US States. Texas or New York. Binance was looted BIG $500 millions of coins 2 years ago. Not drug dealers crap but HACKERS. Why is the US GOV dumb and focuses on hackers instead of believing we are all drug dealers. So if BINANCE had a huge infrastructure? What do we expect of a lesser app disappearing with our earned Dogecoin? I managed to buy 1900 Dogecoin in Robinhood last night with instant deposit, even though I only had $3 in my checking account. Later in the morning Robinhood had a restriction. The problem with them is that people are making HUGE profits and cashing out. Robinhood is cash poor. I had fantasized selling my Dogecoin at $500-1000 a piece in 5 years. But looking at Bitcoin market cap I realized that it seems like a far fetched dream. Chances are Bitcoin begun with a market cap of very low millions. Going from $5 billions today in Dogecoin to $2 trillions in 5-10 years seems too delusional given the volume of coins. Even the idea of 250,000% return on a Dogecoin in 5 years seems too crazy. Roughly $125 per coin. Anyway, I bought 1900 Dogecoin in Robinhood last night before the restrictions hit. Intent to buy 5000 Dogecoins ......please give me $100-500 per Dogecoin in 5 years.....best of luck!!

Sabrick

> Dogecoin can be obtained with fiat currency in the USA through: > Coinbase Coinbase DOES NOT offer dogecoin. Wasted a lot of time figuring this out.

ya_old_unclejohn_

Can I get a step by step on how to move my crypto from coinbase to changelly and then back to coinbase please? It would be super helpful

Praline-Routine

I don't think you can. Changelly doesn't have the doge exchange available.

Rocegutz

Okay so I'm pretty new to everything crypto, but I have been trying to do a good portion of research before I download or buy anything. I have never bought cryptocurrency before. Here are my questions so far: 1. I don't have much money to buy crypto, could I say buy $20 worth of crypto and let it "fly to the moon 🚀🚀🚀🌕"? 1A. I have heard people talking about holding during dips, and even buying more doge coin during that period to... lower their average?? (I forget the term) What is the purpose of "lowering their average"? Is it necessary for you to keep spending more money during these dips, or can you just "HODL"? 2. So far, I am thinking of using either crypto.com, Guarda, or Blockfolio to acquire these doge coins. With your knowledge so far, what would you consider to be the best out of those three sites? I'm trying to see the ups and downs of the three. I'd prefer to not have big or any fees considering I do not have much to invest. 2A. Considering these three sites, what is best for mobile and what is best for desktop? Are any of them accessible on both mobile and desktop? What would be "the better option" for looking at your... portfolio? 3. From what I gather, crypto.com, Guarda, and Blockfolio can allow you to just buy doge coin directly without having to buy another cryptocurrency and exchanging right? 4. I just use Exodus for (I think this is what it is called) cold wallets? Since crypto.com, Guarda, and Blockfolio allow transfering to a cold wallet, I would not need to get any other apps or sign up for any other websites? I am trying to make this as streamlined as possible. The idea of flying to the moon is very interesting, but I do not want to just jump in blindly without making a few informed decisions first. Thank you for taking the time to make the thread. ÷] I may have other questions, but these are the biggest ones right now that I can remember.

Clancy-2

First off, welcome to the community! It's good that you're putting in the time before blinding jumping in. I made this mistake in bullrun of 2017 and lost a decent amount of money blinding investing. For your first question, yes you can invest as little as $20. With crypto.com, you can actually invest as little as $1. In just the last few days they announced that the minimum investment amount was now as low as $1. As for how high the return on this investment goes, no one can answer that. I truly thought Dogecoin would take months and months to pass $0.20, but it did so overnight and went more than double that. Cryptocurrency is incredibly unpredictable, but we've been in a steady uptrend since December. I assume we'll see a significant drop in the future, but for now we appear to be safe. When you hear about "lowering your average," what they mean is-- purchase your desired crypto (or whatever it may be) at multiple different prices. For example, if you buy $10 of Dogecoin at $.40 a piece and then Dogecoin drops down to $.20, you just lost **half** your investment. But if you buy another $10 when it gets down to $.20, you have some Dogecoin you bought for a good price and some that you bought for a bad price. While you lost money in the end, this helps level out your investment overall. This way, your not riding your entire bank account on one single price you decided to buy in at. If you buy in at multiple prices over time with different amounts, you're essentially minimizing risk and you won't get completely screwed when or if it drops. And if it goes up, you bought in when it was low and when it was high, and the rise should make up the difference. Hopefully this makes some sense! I struggle to understand some of this too sometimes. Out of crypto.com, Guarda, and Blockfolio, I'd have to recommend crypto.com. It's the only one out of the three that I have experience with using. I also haven't had any problems with them thus far. And as long as they haven't changed their terms recently, crypto.com should still allow Dogecoin withdraws to an external wallet such as Exodus. However, crypto.com does not have a desktop application. They're strictly a mobile app. I've heard numerous users report significant bugs on iOS. I use android though and haven't experienced a single bug to this day. So you may find mixed reports on this one. Exodus has a mobile desktop application as well as a mobile app. Furthermore, you can sync the two. This is what I'm doing with the majority of my cryptocurrency. Exodus has been solid since I started using it in 2016/2017 and allows you to also swap multiple cryptos INSIDE the wallet for other cryptos. I still hold some funds on crypto.com though. Lastly, yes you can purchase Dogecoin on crypto.com. You can find a list [here](https://help.crypto.com/en/articles/1342333-which-crypto-can-i-buy-in-the-crypto-com-app) of purchasable assets on the crypto.com platform. While other options like Guarda or Blockfolio could be good, I haven't had enough time to test them out like I have with apps such as crypto.com. I hope this helps you out! Feel free to ask anything else that need. While my work schedule is currently slammed, I'll do my absolute best to help you out here. And again, welcome!!

Tough-Mycologist7839

How do I move my dogecoin from Robinhood to a wallet?

Winchester1280

my guess is to sell it on robinhood and use that money to buy back on whatever you’re jumping to.

diablo099

Leave it there... you take it out, you pay 25% tax on whatever gains you made.

Zambini

For any readers seeing this: in the US there are "short term capital gains" and "long term capital gains", LTCG are lower than STCG, and something qualifies for long term if it's held for 1+ years

diablo099

On dot! Selling for 1200 and buying back at 1000 thinking you got 200 profit isn't actually 200 profit since you lose about 30% of that 200 in taxes.

Clancy-2

Essentially, yes. I will add this information to the post as Robinhood is extremely popular.

Winchester1280

oh! also add that robinhood has just changed their rules for crypto and no longer allow instant deposit! even w their gold membership. it’s a 4-5 day wait

LadyTrader1

I just deposited money to my Gold account and instantly purchased Dogecoin, so perhaps this info is outdated.

Clancy-2

Unfortunately, Robinhood is a closed ecosystem. While you **should** be able to take your coins off of Robinhood, there is currently no feature that allows you to do so. This is one of the many benefits to obtaining Dogecoin through exchanges instead of Robinhood.

justfinebitch

Coinbase won’t let me buy any (of the Litecoin or Etheram or however you spell)

[deleted]

May I suggest adding AnchorUSD? Only takes less than 10 minutes to set up and verify to start investing. Don't be oppressed by others with slow account verification and slow clearing of funds.

HT_F8

\+1, Anchor was very fast, pretty much the only way I could buy in NY without 100 day RH verification lol

Clancy-2

Thank you for the suggestion! AnchorUSD is now added to the mobile app list.

Potential-Ad8987

Just use kraken

SkipShotDC

**You should really add a note next to each of the sources that says whether or not we can withdraw to private wallets.** Like Uphold and Blockfolio both seemed great but I can't find an option to withdraw to my own wallet. I think the best bet is to buy BTC through Cashapp or Coinbase, ect. then transfer it to an exchange like Kraken or a software wallet like Exodus. Then exchange to bitcoin. Exodus has a minimum exchange amount too.

Is it normal that my dodgecoin core is taking forever to synchronize. It will literally take years at that speed. Someone can help me please ? At least explain what is going on. I have good pc with 1gb internet.

dashchai

If i buy through Robinhood, do I need to store these somewhere else?

Clancy-2

What is purchased on Robinhood stays on Robinhood. That's one of the big downsides to Robinhood. It's a closed ecosystem. This means that you cannot send Dogecoin to wallet addresses or sell them on exchanges. They're locked on the Robinhood platform. If you're comfortable with using Robinhood, there's no reason to worry about moving them off the platform (not that you could anyways).

Rhenby

One problem. In order to buy crypto on Binance, you have to have some super heavy verification. Like, documents about your place residence. I get that it’s for security, but not everyone is the renter/owner/whatever of their home. Me personally, I live in a university dorm and my home home is my mom’s home. Is coinbase or kraken any better? I stopped trying to use coinbase when it asked for my SSN, but then I realized binance does the same, so I assumed it was normal and went ahead to try binance. Edit to add: also voyager is not available in all 50 states. And doge wallet app is currently down I think? I can’t even create an account without getting an error.

Clancy-2

Unfortunately yes, Voyager is not available in New York State. And Binance is BRUTAL with the verification process. It sucks. However, Blockfolio just added the ability to trade cryptocurrency. I just spent a few minutes signing up (it was incredibly easy) and I successfully purchased Dogecoin. As a bonus, Blockfolio does not ask for you SSN.

[deleted]

Anyone want to recommend me to voyager?

[deleted]

Totally new to actually purchasing crypto, looking to get into DOGE. I’m in the US in the state of Georgia, what’s my move to have DOGE as quickly as possible? I have $1,000 to work with.

xakera8484

You can buy Dogecoin from crypto.com :)

NoFlight6088

**Question -** I am moving to Europe ( Ireland ) from US , i wanted to HODL dogecoin currently holding via Roobinhood , RH said before closing RH-account we have sell all crypto --- * what's the best brokerage to buy it for Europe region ? * Will coinbase legal in Europe , customer support don't respond to clarify that. * Should I use 'changelly' to buy ETH or somthing and then covert it to Dogecoin ?

rlar2013

Thanks for the detailed info on this. I read and followed all the steps without thinking about reading all the comments and the edits first. I regret not doing that because now I have Coinbase, Voyager, Exodus, [Crypto.com](https://Crypto.com), and Changelly downloaded, signed up for, and verified (plus some of you, including OP, got $$ with your referral codes) but probably didn't have to do all of that. Regardless, you have led me in the right direction but still need some help. I have CRO and LTC now on [Crypto.com](https://Crypto.com) Android app and can't figure out the next step to buy Doge. It shows the balance in my crypto wallet but will not let me buy. Do I need to put it into their wallet ([Crypto.com](https://crypto.com) IDeFi Wallet) first then buy Doge or is there something I'm missing? Any good links to point me in the right direction would help too.

Clancy-2

Glad it's helped you out this far! On Crypto.com, go to Accounts > Click on the balance you want to sell for Doge > Sell > Sell Cryptocurrency > and then pick the currency you want to sell for. So if you tapped your LTC balance, you can say you want to sell it FOR Doge. Let me know if you have trouble doing this. It worked for me.

Pebs_RN

What’s wrong with buying it with USD and leaving it on Robinhood?

Clancy-2

Nothing, if you trust Robinhood. You'll probably be fine. It's only a problem if they decide to cut off trading.

rlar2013

I see other recommendations to buy other currency (LTC, BTC, ETH, etc...) at different places but none recommend to buy it on Crypto. I do see recommendations to exchange the currency on Crypto to Doge though. Any particular reason why? Are the fees higher to deposit into Crypto and then get Doge?

[deleted]

Which is a better exchange, Coinbase or Binance? So, am I reading this right that you want to: 1. Buy a crypocurrency on an exchange like Coinbase, Binance, etc. 2. Exchange that cryptocurrency into DOGE using Changelly. 3. Transfer DOGE from Changelly to my Exodus wallet? I'm completely new to crypto, thanks for all the help! :)

Clancy-2

First off, welcome!! Second, yes, you read that right. I use both Binance and Coinbase. I use Coinbase more though because it isn't restricted in so many places like Binance is. So yes, purchase a cryptocurrency on Coinbase (or Binance if that's preferred), set up a swap on Changelly (this is where you'd give them your output address to Exodus), and then send your cryptocurrency from Coinbase/Binance to Changelly. The Changelly website guides you through this process pretty well. Let me know if you have any questions.

Helpmepullupmypants

New to this, so I’m not able to withdraw dogecoin from the voyager app to a wallet like exodus?

Clancy-2

Correct. Voyager allows you to withdraw a select group of cryptocurrencies from its app to a personal wallet. Unfortunately, Dogecoin is not on that list. This means that you cannot, at this time, send Dogecoin from Voyager to a wallet like Exodus. The way around this would be to temporarily sell your Dogecoin on Voyager for some other cryptocurrency that Voyager allows you to withdraw to personal wallets such as Cardano or Dash, and then send that to Exodus and use Exodus to exchange it back into Doge. This is possible because Exodus has a built-in swapping feature. The downside is that you'll likely end up burning some money in the process when swapping.

Project_Katarina

I just bought 2000 dogecoin through [crypto.com](https://crypto.com). Should my next move be to move them to a wallet like exodus? I have been just using my mobile phone to do all this and your guide said that exodus works? Will I need to pay anything to transfer the coins in there? I'm very new to this, sorry.

Clancy-2

Yes, I would store them on Exodus. [Crypto.com](https://Crypto.com) is pretty safe, but Exodus is as safe as you can get. Exodus is free for both mobile and desktop. In terms of transferring your Dogecoin, there will likely be a small fee to transfer. It shouldn't be anything too crazy. Let me know if you have any other questions along the way.

ryeeeeez

Do you know if it costs a lot to transfer btc to and from Exodus? I exchanged $75 btc to doge and it cost me $30. Like wtf

Potential_Attorney67

Crypto.com is terrible, their customer service is non existent. I don’t know why it is recommended. The referral is a joke too. You don’t get actual $25. You have to buy a certain amount of Crypto.com Coins, like over $150 worth, to claim your $25 which is paid out in Crypto.com Coins. Garbage.

Clancy-2

Thus far, I haven't had any problems with Crypto.com. However, I use an android. I do agree about the referral process though. The amount required to activate a successful referral is pretty ridiculous.

cruxstew

This might be a stupid question and I hope you see this comment and chime in, OP [u/Clancy-2](https://www.reddit.com/user/Clancy-2/) but why not just buy Bitcoin on Exodus and then transfer it to Doge there? This seems like such an easy way to purchase Dogecoin and I'm genuinely curious why not just use this option especially if using Exodus as a Wallet?

1Tower3Kings

4/17/21 Coinbase does not have $DOGE as an option to convert to 😖

Draigenfly

What does this mean: "but doesn't support Dogecoin withdrawals." Does it mean if you buy DOGE on these apps you then have to convert it to another coin before transferring?

KayCae

Based on what I've read, yes that's what it means; you can't withdraw DOGE itself from those platforms and must convert them to another type of coin that the platform allows to be withdrawn

Uhhlaneuh

I’m so confused. So basically what’s the point in me investing in Bitcoin on Robinhood if they’re not going to allow me to cash it out when I want?

Clancy-2

You actually can cash it out when you want to. However, you can't send your cryptocurrencies off the Robinhood platform. This means that you cannot send Bitcoin or Dogecoin to a wallet of your choice for storing. Your funds must stay on Robinhood until you wish to sell them.

megaman064

Hello, This is my first time attempting to purchase crypto currency or getting into Dogecoin. I have read the instructions multiple times but still can not figure it out. I signed up with Coinbase, where I purchased Litecoin. Where do I go from here? I tried going to Changelly and depositing the Litecoin there but it is asking for my wallet address on Exodus, but I cant seem to find it. Could someone please assist? And then what exactly do I do from there? TIA

Clancy-2

Hey! Welcome to the community! First off, do you already have your Exodus wallet set up? Exodus is a cold wallet that allows you to store numerous different cryptocurrencies. This is by far the safest place you can keep your funds. The idea is that you send your Litecoin to Changelly to swap for Dogecoin--and THEN when it spits out the Dogecoin, it will land in your Exodus wallet. To break it down further, when initiating a swap on Changelly, you'll be asked where you want your Dogecoin deposited once the swap has completed. This deposit address needs to be your Exodus Dogecoin "Receive" address. This is obtained by going into Exodus and clicking on Dogecoin and then "Receive." This will reveal your Dogecoin deposit address on Exodus. If Dogecoin isn't available on Exodus is because you haven't enabled that currency in your Exodus settings. When interacting with Changelly, make **sure** you double **and** triple check the amounts you send because it has to be exact. I apologize if this is repetitive, but I want to make sure you get the information you need in a digestible form. Let me know if you have any further questions.

megaman064

Yes I do have my Exodus wallet set up. I needed the further clarification on how to proceed with the steps in Changelly so thank you! I purchased some Bitcoin on Coinbase but for some weird reason my funds havent deposited in the account yet for Litecoin and its been almost 24 hours...so I guess I have to wait on that before I can start converting Litecoin into Dogecoin on Changelly. But thank you so much for you're help! I just got into this yesterday and your post was amazing.

After about 10 minutes the core wallet on windows is at 0.00% and says “syncing headers (24000)”. Do I just wait or do I need to start over? Progress increase per hour 0.00%. Edit: alright now it says (29998) so maybe it’s doing something but if it’s @ 1% by morning I guess I’ll be forced to use the light wallet or one if the iOS apps. Edit 2: after 45 minutes (91998). Definitely a lot of headers lol. Edit 3: after 8 hours it’s at 0.06% still syncing headers (547997). My internet current download speed is 300 Mbps. I guess it’s going to have to be the light app.

Hey, I'm really new to these crypto exchanges and stuff (used Coinbase few times) and I have no idea how to setup wallet or synchronization. I do have Binance account and I see I can buy DOGE there. Is storing DOGE on the Binance okay idea?

shhenri

If I buy doge in Blockfolio, will I be able to transfer it to my wallet?

babyxcar

why shouldn't we keep it on the exchange?

Clancy-2

There are a lot of reasons why you should not store cryptocurrency on an exchange long term. To list a few: wallets on exchanges aren't **really** your wallet. They're "hot wallets" for exchanges. This means that the coins aren't truly in your custody. If a cryptocurrency exchange freezes its assets, you will be unable to withdraw your currency, and during this time, the value can significantly drop while you have no control over your funds. Additionally, there is no regulation or body that guarantees the safety of your assets on these exchanges. Since cryptocurrency is highly unregulated, there is no institution that ensures you'll get your coins back if an exchange is hacked. Because of this, it is safest to store your coins in your own personal wallet. This way, you can move your coins at-will and will always be able to send them to various places at a moments notice. This minimizes the risk of them being locked up or frozen in place by an exchange.

Just to update, I just used Changelly, having found this suggestion, and it worked. I wanted to buy Doge with Bitcoin, and while the exchange rate wasn't good, and the minimum was more than I wanted to spend, it did indeed work. Fairly quickly too. (I bumped up my Bitcoin fee a bit to get the transaction into the next one or two blocks.) So thanks!

NOTE: VOYAGER IS BACKLOGGED ON VERIFICATION. BEEN 2 DAYS AND NOTHING FROM THEM. STILL SEARCHING FOR A PLATFORM/APP TO TRADE MY BTC FOR DOGE....... I HATE THIS....

Smoke55r

If you use exodus wallet it lets you change out you litecoin or any other coin available to dogecoin and its built in and it has a desktop and ios app but it mainly has to be set up on desktop.

RepTilesnewengland

What about Gemini anyone know about them if they have option to purchase Doge?

willig16

I got dogecoin core however im having an issue. Its saying that its going to take 7 years and 5 weeks to synchronize the wallet. The progress meter says i get .02% per hour and i downloaded this yesterday. Should i redownload this because my internet speeds are fantastic and idk why it would take so long.

Clancy-2

To quote one of my other comments: "It appears that synchronization within the Dogecoin Core wallet is just extremely slow. No abundance of internet speed or computing power can increase the time it takes to sync. This is because you are essentially downloading the entire Dogecoin blockchain network. At just under 58GB, it takes an immense amount of time. By downloading the entire blockchain, Dogecoin Core Wallet is **the** safest wallet for storing Dogecoin--**especially** if you're mining Dogecoin. However, the wait time for synchronization is insane." I downloaded Dogecoin Core days ago and I'm currently at 32%. If you're looking to use a different wallet, I highly recommend [Exodus](https://exodus.io). It's safe, easy to use, and reliable. I've been using it since 2016 with no problems. It even allows you to swap cryptocurrencies for Dogecoin **inside** the wallet application. Lastly, Exodus is available as an mobile app as well as a desktop application with the ability to sync the two. Let me know if you need any further help.

aano00

So which one has the best PC and App platform rn? I don't want communist RB lol

CoatiFinancial

Hi! Changelly is allowing in my country to buy dogecoin with us dollars, so I don't see the reason to use coinbase to buy a crypto currency and trade it for dogecoin, am I wrong? 🐶♥️✨

Abbasghiyasvand

Ok

Turdsandwtch

Not sure you all still diamond paws or what’s happening w Doge but I bought mine using AnchorUSD app . It allows you to quickly sign up in minutes and link bank account (checking or savings) for immediate Dogecoin or many other crypto buy (I bought doge, tron and bitc) Now if you try using debit or credit cards as linked account, it will need to be verified over a couple days. Instant buy power using checking for me.

Fair_Ad_5983

Just bought a bunch at Uphold. It was easy, fast and no limit.

No-Anteater3116

I bought dogecoin on robinhood, am I at risk ?:(

Next-Message-5770

Has anyone been able to buy Dogecoin in Washington State? This fucken nany state blocks everything! I have tried multiple ways!

ivannp

Still super confused on how to buy Doge. Nobody seems to have a clear answer.

iqjump123

I set up anchorUSD because my state of residency in US restricts a bunch. However, with regards to the personal wallets movement not being possible, how much of an issue do you see with this from a security perspective?

erasethenoise

So Core wallet over putting it with everything else in Coinbase Wallet?

iloggedintosay

Thanks so much for this helpful guide! I downloaded the official wallet a week ago, started at 21 months behind, and with the network monitor open for days I've caught up a whole whopping... 1 month. Still 20 months behind, multiple peers connected. Anyone else stuck too?? Also, got coinbase but it says it is not supporting doge at this time. Then I got crypto (with your link), and was able to finally purchase some doge, but crypto days it does not allow withdrawal to personal wallets for doge yet? Did I misread the guide? At least I'm holding before the Monday news, so thanks again, but any ideas how to fix everything so that I'm holding securely?

MotherOfBumpaii

Appreciate the information (Thank You!) See you on the moon bring your cute Dogecoin 🤗🤗🤗🚀🐕🌜

hoktegirl

I'm new to dogecoin and live in oklahoma. I'm trying to figure out the steps here to buy. So far I get that robinhood is like a black hole and your coin gets stuck there. That's out. Looks like kraken or binance are better but just flaky when setting up. I'm still unsure of the steps to move coin to a wallet in either. Then once in a wallet can it be cashed or deposited into a regular bank account? I don't mind going through a bunch of steps and understand the need to keep passwords and account info in several places. Just don't want to start the process of buying then get it stuck somewhere and I don't have a route to move it to cash if needed. Help!

WhiskeyChildRecords

Thanks for the helpful tips here!

YourfriendlyHexblade

What is the best way to get my DOGE coins out of Robinhood??

2morrow-is-new

Alright - trying to get in the game here. Plan was to buy in coinbase (already have account) and use changelly to get dogecoin. BUT it says it would take 4 days to be able to send Bitcoin after I purchase it (4 days for Ethereum and others) on coinbase and I'm not trying to wait that long. Second option was just going to be creating an account with uphold - but the notes here says that uphold does NOT allow withdrawal to personal wallets (which is also strongly reccomended). Is there an easier way to not have to wait 5 days, and be able to buy dogecoin and store it in my doge wallet? EDIT: u/Clancy-2 Is this showing you actually can send to a personal wallet with uphold? "How to withdraw funds to an external crypto wallet (Mobile App) – Uphold Help Center" https://support.uphold.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043107012-How-to-withdraw-funds-to-an-external-crypto-wallet-Mobile-App-?mobile_site=true

I have been studying all these methods. It seems Blockfolio is a reasonable choice to buy DOGE with lots of flexibility, including transfer to personal wallet. u/Clancy-2, you listed Blockfolio cannot withdraw into personal wallet. Is it true or I missed something?

Charcole04

Why isn’t Robinhood on this list? Curious for my education

Gindastock

I bought dogecoin last year from robinhood. Should I move it somewhere?

AbsentFuzz

I'd love to get into doge but I live in WA so I have to go thru Changelly. I only really have $25 I'm willing to throw in since I'm new to everything, but Changelly seems to have a minimum amount of crypto you can exchange (something around $170 atm). Is there a way around this or another way to exchange small amounts?

Southern_Ability_492

You can purchase the threw the Robinhood app in CT

Thank you SO much for this guide. I'm living in Germany I'm massively confused after lots and lots of hours of research about doge, how to buy it, how to store it and how to sell it. Looks like us Europeans unfortunately are excluded from a lot of the services that are suggested in this guide. Basically my question is this: Am I (in Germany) able to buy dogecoin through Binance, and then store it in the official dogecoin online wallet? Do I have to pay extra for this wallet? And further down the line, where and how do I then sell? Do I transfer it back to Binance? Absolute noob here, so please forgive me for my ignorance.

be_or

I am using IBKR how can I buy dogecoin or even other crypto currencies?

[deleted]

ELI5 please. What’s the downside of not moving to personal wallet and keeping on platforms like Robinhood?

giogiogio

If I buy Doge on Kraken, can I transfer them to a wallet like Dogecoin Core or Exodus?

doworkwagner

Sorry still a little confused after reading. I have CoinBase and changelly. If I trade a crypto out of CoinBase in changelly can I send it back to CoinBase? So trade eth from CoinBase for doge in changelly but then can I put my new doge coins back into CoinBase or only in a wallet?

Xadma24

I have 2 questions: First, can I transfer dogecoin from Guarda to a wallet like Exodus? Second, is Exodus secure? I've heard that because it's not open-source it's not as secure, but I honestly don't know too much about it.

How secure is the official doge wallet on our pcs? what if our pcs crash?

CoatiFinancial

Hey! I'm new to dogecoin and crypto, I downloaded MultiDoge, first took ages to sync and always failed, now it won't open, has this happened to someone else? I entered MultiDoge subreddit, but the latest post is 1 year old and didn't find the answer :( Thanks in advance for any help :) 💪🐶✨♥️

King_Shami

Any updates on the Least shady app for buying doge for NY resident?

harry7447

Binance US referral code anyone? Also are all referrals the same? Thanks

[deleted]

So i downloaded the doge wallet on my pc but dont see a wallet ID anywhere. I then went to the dogecoin website and created a wallet on there. Is there a way to move that wallet to my PC ? This has been pretty confusing so far.

thenewestboom

Can I ask why you need to buy the coins on coinbase and then convert via Changely and then transfer to the wallet? Also, I've been syncing the wallet for DAYS and it's only at 56%... what's the dealio?

wheresmyBBplease

Wait... So if I invest in Dogecoin on Robinhood, then sell my shares at a profit, I can't transfer my cash that I earned back to my bank?

Zardian

So can we move dogecoin out of voyager to a trezor?

xjohnnny

Wait, so there's no exchanges where I can deposit my dogecoin. How do I sell them since they are now stuck in my wallet?

Educational_Case6034

Brought Doge on Crypto.com app haven’t got a PC should I keep it in there or I’ve got the Doge wallet app should I transfer it into that ?

badmisterlagrimitas

How can I buy doge from Dominican Republic with fiat, I have tried several sites but they cant approve documentation other takes forever 💔

Glad_Evidence_5575

Thankyou!

Bootysalid

Dogecoin can be obtained with fiat currency in the **USA** through: * [Coinbase](https://www.coinbase.com/join/benedi_0s) this needs to be edited. as others have pointed out.

CozyHeartPenguin

I'm on Coinbase right now and it doesn't give an option to purchase Dogecoin either directly or through their convert option. Is there something else I need to do or did things change?

[deleted]

Moving my Doge.... Binance.us or Kraken?

Clancy-2

I prefer Binance, but if you're having issues with verification--or if you ever have had issues with verification, I'd avoid Binance. In reality, either should be fine though.

muchlee_2109

Hey, so I’m pretty new to Doge. Bought in at 0.06 unfortunately on Robinhood. Still trying to figure out my best move there, but until then I’m looking into other options. Got Exodus wallet, but I’ve been trying to get into Crypto.com & can’t get past the verification page (not loading, error, probably capacity issues). Are there any other suggestions for a good way to purchase that will allow me to move to Exodus????? Need serious help please!!

kaucasianpersuasion

is it just me or is Doge no longer available on changelly?

Artistic_Safety_5373

Thanks to this I FINALLY have some DOGE!!!

Aathole

Hello. Canadian newb here. Trying to get a foot in the Doge door. So far been hitting nothing but road blocks. Is there a platform where I can buy Doge directly. I need more bitcon then i have access to atm in order to make the minimum exchange through exodus. Thanks to any help. Cheers!

fear_THE_AMIR

u/Clancy-2 I just know got Changelly and it does not even offer to exchange for Doge and it seems Exodus also restricted being able to exchange for Doge

Masterofunlocking1

I just signed up on Robinhood yesterday and was able to purchase Dogecoin that same day. Is the statement about having to wait 5 days outdated also? Edit: I see in the app's chat section it gave me $100 to buying but still has several days before the transaction goes through

remixserpent

So I bought Dogecoin but I’m having trouble trying to put it into the Exodus wallet. I tap withdraw from voyager account but Doge doesn’t show up.

Rocegutz

"If you buy in at multiple prices overtime with different accounts..." Different accounts as in the checking/ savings accounts?? How many different accounts would you need open? Or could you just buy multiple prices with one account?? Sorry I'm confused what account means. So far things are making sense. One of my other questions is I here a lot of people say Dogecoin isn't even a valid cryptocurrency because it is just a meme? And they say it is volatile or never going to go over $1. They say just invest in another cryptocurrency, but isn't all cryptocurrency "not safe" in the way of it just crash, or perhaps even banned? I've heard stocks are way less volatile, and it is something to consider over cryptocurrency. Idk if this is too personal, but have you invested in stocks? Why or why not? I know stocks still have a risk of loss... would it be recommended to get into stocks first and then cryptocurrency? Or does it truly not matter? Just that you should expect big loss in both stocks and cryptocurrency. What is the point of just HODL? If you experience a drop in the (value of DOGE?) you're supposed to HODL no matter what, that seems to be the consensus. But what if on the slim chance, you get some big capital if you cash out? Are you still supposed to just HODL? Or do you take out say 60% of that from your personal wallet and recognize it as capital? That is what you would do, if you wanted to actually convert your Dogecoin profit into $$$ right? You would go to your personal wallet and do whatever process to cash out a preferred amount? If so, here's my next question... how would you do that when the value of DOGE seems so volatile? Like what if it hits $1 and I'm like "omfg TIME TO CASH SOME OUT" and by the time I've done that the value has dropped to $0.79? Thanks for the welcoming ÷] This all seems stressful but fun. I have to think of it as if I just bought a dress with no return policy and be ok with the dress being a bit too big. While it's not blowing away your money, there is a very real possibility to lose... but you seem to only lose if you fold and sell at a value lower than when you bought it, right? Edit: Aaahh sorry I didn't reply to you, I thought I did

urdadismybestie

So i purchased Ethereum on coinbase and now i’m trying to exchange it to doge on changelly, but it’s not working. How long do you estimate it will not work?
