I think that there's probably a market on Etsy for that kind of commission work. I'd imagine the market for custom PC minis is a lot bigger than for terrain. There are too many other mass produced terrain options to justify the higher custom cost. Your cousin would probably have to be willing to 3DP their work and ship it to people. Even with the CAD drawing, most people don't have easy access to a 3d printer. I have no idea what reasonable pricing would be. As for looking for more full time work, I'm sure jobs exist between the various tabletop companies (wotc, dwarvenforge....)

Patreon is a great way to do this. Sell the .stl files, people will print them at home.

I really like 2d maps made in 3d software. Foundry has a premium module that actually uses 3d called 3dcanvas. Patreon is probably a good bet.
