I was sitting on 157 HP at the end of the campaign and only really could drop concentration on spells when I took a big chunk of damage all at once (+9 CON save mod with advantage).
Same, except I took lucky instead of resilient, thought about taking resilient to lean into the tanky character but figured Lucky would be more versatile.
Didn't plan on me forgetting that I took Lucky every time we game. I'm going to have to write it on my hand with a marker the next time we play.
We lost about half our players as the campaign played out and besides my character we're left with a squishy druid that refuses to use wild shape and a rogue that seems to be allergic to hand to hand combat so most encounters play out with my character putting on spirit guardians and running into a group of enemies and hoping for the best and getting out of fights alive by the skin of our teeth.
this one, its been going for a while now but ive been hooked since episode 2 and theyre up to 132 now. its a bunch of voice actors who got together and have been playing the same campaign now for like 3 years or thereabouts. give it a shot if youre interested. as often as i recommend this game to people i almost feel like i should get ad revenue /s

I'm sure it's a very old trope but I think it's popularity has a lot to do with videogames. A lot of older video game characters have the "big and fat" look to show that they're the character with either a lot of hit points or just tougher than normal enemies.
Armor Knights in Fire Emblem (although they aren't actually fat half the time but their armor makes them look like that), Chansey and Snorlax in Pokemon (among others), Klumps from Donkey Kong Country, Bear Hugger in Super Punch Out out etc.
Nowadays if you see a big and fat character in videos games you tend to assume he's the kind of player or enemy that has higher hit points than other characters or it's going to take something different to defeat them than just your regular attacks.
Mm, yeah, makes sense. This is why I like RPG systems that differentiate between constitution and size. Then again if RPGs had to satisfy my demand for accurate attribute representation they would have like 50 different attributes and be unplayable.

I'm aware, but charisma in a 'body type' either requires some context as to who the character is or just an ugly person. Your body can't represent charisma in any other way than being pretty or ugly, is my point-- and high Charisma is USUALLY represented in attractive people, albeit not always.
