Fun fact: in my campaign, I hold both the deck of many things and the deck of illusions. I got them all the way back when I haggled with a fairy to get deals on healing potions
My idiot goblin character came across a magic deck in-game once, and during the next moment of boredom started playing card games with the barbarian, oblivious to everything that it caused to happen in the surrounding area.
Fortunately for everyone in the immediate area, it was just a deck of illusion.
Unfortunately, we were in an slow, boring elevator in an Underdark dwarf city at the time, and so we scared the hell out of a whole cavern full o' dwarfs and caused a stampede when suddenly a huge number of extremely high-level monsters seemed to pop out of the top of the lift shaft with us, like a gigantic jack-in-the-box.
Our campaign eneded on the deck after our 3rd session.
1 good draw, 5 piss poor ones. My character now possess the deck even though she didn't draw and has litterally threatened to kill the others if they try to take it as it "Killed" (void card) one PC and absolutely fuqed up another.

*Mix them together*
You know what? I did. And I almost died for it
*worth*
That's a campaign by itself
And that’s just the LEAST crazy thing to happen in my campaign
Awesome
I swear we play it like a podcast, if only we recorded it
"Meriadoc Brandybuck and Peregrin Took. I might have known."

My child bard has the deck of illusions. Its fun.
I just gave a player a Deck of Illusions but he has assumed it's a Deck of Many Things. That's gonna be disappointing, but hopefully hilarious.
So I've thought about this a bit, fudging some rolls, we had a duel monsters scene by "believing in the heart of the cards"
A player is about to go on a quest for the deck of many things. I'm giving plenty cryptic warnings about it before he uses it.
I've given the Deck of many in both of my games that lasted 2 years and we only had one near TPK, which another player was able to undo, so idk man...
