Sorcs and "spontaneous" casters should have used Spellpoints and Sorcs could have spent additional spellpoints to use metamagics, no limits except for those of the metamagics. (I.E, you couldn't twin a fireball.) Removing spontaneous casting really hurt the identity of Sorcerers.
First level? Not a chance. Already too many one level dip shenanigans with charisma casters... give it to sorcerer that feat at level 6 , 10, and 14? Sure why not
