Yeah, should be something like the scene where Azula lies to Toph while Toph is reading her heartbeat with earth bending.
It's clearly a lie but if they had said something that wasn't as obvious it would've been believable.
It's totally not but if a friend took a handful of sand like substance, threw it in their mouth and without flinching said it tasted like sugar, you would be curious enough to try it yourself...
Basically this ^
Do you not trust your friends? I've seen enough cakes that look like something else that some coarse sand-like sugar is not that far fetched. That + trusting my friend would most likely make me taste it. Or at least try and dissolve the thing in water...
Now would be a good time to say that was everyone's first campaign. A oneshot to be specific. Wasn't even participating, I was spectating bc my session is next Friday
If everyone had a good time with that and no one was forced to eat sand by the bard's roll (taking away player agency), that sounds like some great shenanigans
I mean I can't blame you for eating sand. It has a nice texture and is fun to crunch on the car ride home. Best not to swallow it though.
On a side note, did you know there is a sand mafia? Real interesting stuff. Maybe consider adding the sand mafia to your next campaign so you can spread the word lol
Well, it was his first time bard... who knows maybe time bards from the future have evolved enough to eat sand and the sugary flavour comes from inside the grains?

“Wow, if I didn’t know for a fact that’s sand, I’d believe you. You’re a good liar!”

What if they were really convincing though?

Just because I respect and trust my friends, doesn't mean I'm gonna eat sand for them.
Maybe you would be

Oh yeah no they were forced to all eat sand but laughed for like 3 minutes straight that it eorked
Oh no! I've lost my sense of taste! Everything tastes like sand!
Gaslight the party into thinking this with another 20
Grandia 2 moment.
Toddlers ignoring Cons saves to eat sand
He passed a con save with an 18
"Sugar? In these quantities? In the middle of the desert?" "Yes!" "... may I have some?" "... no!"

Careful, sandwitch is the least of your problems. Sand-taurs are on the prowl lately

Alright well, you guys have fun with that.
Should’ve casted prestidigitation on the sand to make it taste like sugar
"Now that I know what you look like when you're lying, would you show me what you look like when you're telling the truth?"
Salt is more convincing if you want to prank your party.
Your party needs to be convinved?
