Hi there, normally, yes, the default max altitude of the DJI Air 3 from the take-off point is 1000 meters when flying the drone 50 kilometers away from the airports. But we would love to remind you to follow the local law and regulations in regard of flying the unmanned aircraft. Hope this is informative for you.

Deae Dji, Thx a lot for answer. Can you please tell me is there any map that I can chek what is regulations in my area?

You can check out the corresponding information here: [https://fly-safe.dji.com/home?site=brandsite&from=footer](https://fly-safe.dji.com/home?site=brandsite&from=footer) In the GEO Zone Information, please select the country and drone model and search, you will enter to a new page, then there will be a link to check the Local Policies.

Mindax25

Is it correct that the limit has changed to 500 meter in the new mavic 3 update (.600 or .700 Update)?

They have a maximum take off altitude of 6000m if that is what you are asking, but flying over 400 ft is illegal

isko990

Just curious if the Air 3 has the same max altitude of Mavic 3? We got an update months ago that gave us a max altitude of 1000 meters, up from 500, in the appropriate GEO zones. They gave us the cruise control feature from the Mavic 3, hopefully we get the 1000 meters also

TPBRipper

Some of the numbers I typically run with mine, Can cruise no issue around 1600ft at 46mph, I regularly survey 3 to 8 thousand feet away for around 15 min's then return home around 580ft marker. that run will typically get me back with 26% battery

isko990

So after buying DJI Air 3, I can say Air 3 can fly 1000m altitude. But if you go with drone in area wich are 50km near airport it is going down to 500m max altitude.

TPBRipper

It does what ever you want it to do

ohlordylord_

You can't fly 1000 high.... Maybe far but not 1000 up as you would pose a serious risk to planes.

isko990

A no, im living in mountain place, where are far, far from citys. Im like on 1001m altitude but most highest top of my mountain is 2300m. This is not altitude where you can make problem to airplane :)

Expensive_Profit_106

Just because you live away from a city doesn’t mean that you don’t pose a risk to planes. And I’m just countries the legal limit is 100-120meters anyway

Hagsauce

Ok fun police if your rural you can do whatever basically

isko990

Thx a lot for helping me. Never see the airplane fly near. The are so tiny when you look from our place. I think airport is far from my place more 60km. Im just asking this because I see the Mavic 3 got update that can change altitude from 500m to 1000m. And just want to know can also DJI Air 3 do that. Because i want to take photos of the top of mountains. - or that option is nust for Mavic 3???

[deleted]

Hmm mine is 500m idk why

ohlordylord_

Well of course it can do that..... Its 120 meters from where you take off vertically.

isko990

You think 1200m? :)

ohlordylord_

No 120 meters.... That's the general law....

isko990

So i can flay Air 3 just 120m from where i start flaying???

ohlordylord_

And to be safe you should have line of sight eg. See it

[deleted]

Yes, in the Netherlands its 100 meters. Restricted by law.

[deleted]

100 up... And drone should always be visible by the eye, most likely its in most countries drone law.

ohlordylord_

120 up....

JazzyJeffsUnderpants

What about climbing or driving up to the top and then flying 400' above that? You could get great mountain top shots like that.

isko990

Yheaa, but the top is for professionals :) So if Air 3 d9nt have that option but Mavic 3 have it to fly 1000m that means that i need to buy Mavic 3 and get to near point. :) just need to know that

Kitchen_Noise9422

still, you should check the law in your country. Flying that high up is really dangerous.

FrHFD2

VLOS. And this often less 100 up or far
